30/Oct/16 Happy Halloween

Good morning Cape Breton.

So as you can see by the photos, Tonya and the Big Guy have moved the love seat from the living room window so that now, I can see outside without having to jump on the furniture.  Even my old step brother, Sebastian, didn't have that treatment.  Then again, I guess Sebastian knew from very early, he wasn't allowed on the furniture.

Tonya and the Big Guy have been commenting that I don't stink when I am wet.  I don't smell like wet dog.  I wonder if it is my dog food that is doing that for me?  But it's true, most dogs get that wet dog smell when they are wet.  But lately it's been raining so much, and I still have to go outside, but I don't smell bad.

Good news, I will no longer be bugging about subscribing to the Big Guy's YouTube channel.  As of this morning, he has 106 subscribers.  Now he is going to be cooking me a steak.  He took one out of the freezer yesterday, but I didn't get enough subscribers before he cooked his own steaks. The Big Guy cut up the steaks into small strips.  Then he added mushrooms, onions, peas and carrots.  Then he made a gravy with it.  He served this on a bed of rice.  Tonya was saying that this was THE BEST steak she ever had.  Did I get to have any?  No, only because the counter didn't flip over to 100 subscribers when he was checking it.

To all the little Trick or Treaters, stay safe tonight.  I seen in the news they are only allowing 2 hours for the little ones.  I heard from the Big Guy, Halloween isn't celebrated like it is in North America in other parts of the world.

30/Oct/16 still raining outside

Good morning Cape Breton.

Although you can't see it in the photos, I am wet.  The Big Guy took me in and wanted to get a picture of the water that is hanging off my fur.

Big surprise though, I don't stink like a "wet dog" when I am wet.  Tonya and the Big Guy can't figure out why.  But they are pretty happy about that though.

They both took the time to move some of the furniture around in the living room.  Now I can see right out the living room window without jumping up on the love seat to look out.  Remember last Friday's picture when the Big Guy was putting the garbage out?  Well he knew I was on the love seat.

They also moved a few other things around and found LOTS of fur.  I don't seem to be shedding as much these days.  BUT wait till spring.  You bet I am going to shed a lot of fur.

The Big Guy was cooking again yesterday.  This time home made baked beans.  Yes, he did a video.  He has to splice it together.

Good news on the video front.  The Big Guy has 89 Subscribers to the YouTube channel.  11 more to go and he will be feeding me a steak.

29/Oct/16 it's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring

Good morning Cape Breton.

Another weekend, another rain storm.  This storm is only forecasted to bring about an inch of rain to Cape Breton.  So there will be no flooding this weekend.

There is a whole section of houses in Sydney that have to be destroyed due to the overland flooding that happened on Thanksgiving weekend.  Of course some people have no insurance.

The Big Guy has the baby gate up so that I can't go upstairs and bug Tonya while she is sleeping.  She also told the Big Guy that she wants a nice breakfast for when she gets up.  I think he is going to make like French Toast with Bacon for her.  He always has these plans.

I've been chewing and attacking the lattice that is under the stairs and on the deck.  That means that the Big Guy is going to have to create a new way to keep me from going under the deck.  I think he will be putting in vertical boards that I can't chew on.  Something like tongue and groove.  I guess I will have to see what he puts in place and then see if I can't chew on it.

He has a lot more lattice that he could put up.  But I would only chew on the new stuff anyways.

You should see the deck rails.  Lots of chew marks on some of the rails.  By the time I am done, it will be all new wood put in place.  Termites are not as efficient as I am.  The Big Guy will have to take photos.

I can see the Big Guy's wheels turning in his head.  I think that he is going to make some Home Made Baked Beans.  That will mean some bacon.  Bacon that I can't have.  But I also wonder if he will make some home made bread to go with the beans, or will he make tea biscuits?  I can't have that either, so it doesn't make any difference to me.

28/Oct/16 your putting the garbage outside without my help

Can you see my eye shine from when the Big Guy was taking photos this morning?  You can see me in the window.  I was eyeballing him while he was putting the garbage outside.  Why didn't he want my help?  It is raining outside, but I don't mind the rain like some of his other dogs.

I've been watching the news and I heard that my step bother's and sister's in Bathurst New Brunswick will be getting snow.  Did you know, I am about the size of my bio mom now.  I still have some growing to be able to catch up to my bio dad though.

Do you see the sign that the Big Guy put up just in the left of the bottom picture.  It says "No Soliciting".  He believes that it's supposed to keep people from knocking at his door selling random stuff.  I think it only works for Jehovah Witness.  They haven't been around in a long time.  It must be hard on them having to go from door to door and most people always telling them "NO".

Hey hey hey, good news...  I am up to 87 Subscribers.  Only 13 more to go and the Big Guy is going to cook up a steak for me.

Do you know what a sensie is?  I know they can smash pretty good when you pull on the power cord.  I also found out that a plastic cup filled with pens and pencils can tip pretty easy.  Then I had a wonderful collection of stuff to chew on for a few hours while Tonya left for work.

The Big Guy puts me into the kennel when he goes to work.  But Tonya comes home for lunch and leaves me out to the kennel.  

I think after this, she is going to think twice about leaving me out of the kennel when she goes back to work.

Did I tell you about chewing the cordless phone?  Oh yea, I ruined that too.  There is the phone base that I haven't gone after just yet, but when I do...  that will mean that Tonya's sister will not be able to contact Tonya.  Once the phone base is destroyed, it means the phones in the house will stop working.

Yes, I am being bad.  I am bored.  Entertain me.

Tonya had a nice clothes pin holder.  It was on the post outside on the back deck.  I got bored and I chewed on it.  There was clothes pins all over the deck.  So I chewed on a few of the clothes pins.

Tonya transferred the remaining pins to a reusable Superstore bag that you buy for a dollar.  She left that outside and I ate that too.  So I chewed on MORE clothes pins.

Clothes pins are small and the wood is soft to chew on.

The Big Guy told me that he only likes his clothes dried in the dryer.  Not on the clothes line.

I am being a BIG HELPER!

Yesterday the Big Guy took out my new harness.  He noticed that it came with a very small leash with a carabiner attached to it.  Turns out, you can leave the small leash threaded through the seat belt and then when I get into the car, just clip the carabiner to the D ring on my harness.  So much easier than the other one I owned.

But yesterday the Big Guy had it hooked up wrong and I was able to reach the front seats.  The Big Guy noticed that I was bumping my head off the roof.  So he opened the sun roof on the car.  So I stuck my head outside and was looking around while he was driving the car.  

He wants to be able to hook up his tripod to the hood of his car and get some actions shots as he drives around a bit.  Then come home and remove the tripod.  Then post the video.

The Big Guy has 86 YouTube subscribers.  Only 14 more and he is going to feed me a steak.

25/Oct/16 I'm getting taller

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

As you can see from this photo, I am no longer the small puppy that Tonya held in her arms a few months ago.

I still get my apple each day.  If not an apple, then some other fruit.  I hear that I am going to be changing my kibble soon.  I will be going to an Adult Giant Breed Dog Food.  They make Giant Junior Dog Food, but we haven't found anyone that carries it.  I wonder if they carry it on the Mainland?  I know that Tonya would probably go to the Mainland if she knew someplace had it.

I have another 4 days of being put in the kennel each day.  But then Tonya is off on Saturday and Sunday with the Big Guy.  

Did I tell you?  They got a new harness for me for when I go in the car.  So far, they haven't put it on me.  Tonya said it looks like it was made by the Air Force, so many clips and what not.  They haven't put it on me, but they should soon to test it on me.  Could you image if it didn't fit?  Oh they are going to be upset.

Good news, we are up to 86 subscribers on YouTube.  Only 14 more to go and I will be having my steak.  Keep sharing my Blog for friends to read and hopefully they will subscribe too.  Get them to click HERE to see my latest video.

Good morning Cape Breton.

Some of you have already seen the video of me doing slow motion.  Jumping and nipping at Tonya.  I just love her so much.  But then I can't help myself by wanting to chew on her.

It was a slow day yesterday.  I got to watch Tonya and the Big Guy cleaning up the yard while I was stuck on the deck.  I didn't like that at all.  I wanted to jump over the railing.  But I am not so sure that would be a good idea.  The Big Guy made sure to move all the benches and chairs away from the railing so that I can't get an easy access to jumping over the railing.

Most of the leaves have fallen off the trees already.  I am surprised that Tonya and the Big Guy didn't go for a drive to see the fall colors.  By the time they go, the leaves will be all fallen off the trees.

I heard Tonya telling the Big Guy, she got 40 hours work this week.  That means a lot of kennel time for me.  I get separated from my humans and I am not too happy about that.  I miss them alot when they are not around.

We had an Air Cadet come to the house yesterday.  She said that they are going to Vimy next summer.  The Big Guy and Tonya really enjoy it when they see young people joining Cadets.  The Big Guy has a work mate who's daughter has joined the Air Cadets.  She went up in a glider a few weeks ago.  He said that she had a great time.

The Big Guy can be quite the pest at times.  He is always taking pictures of me.

I had a few comments about my Flying Video, but no one really said that they wanted MORE.

So that BIG storm we were supposed to get, didn't turn out to be as stormy as they thought it could be.  Yes we did get rain, but only in waves.  Nothing like that other storm that we had.

The Big Guy is microwaving some potatoes.  It must mean that he is going to be having some hash browns with fried bologna and eggs.  He tends to make these biggie breakfasts on the weekend.

So it was a boring day yesterday.  I would go outside between showers.  The Big Guy tried to find videos of me jumping up on Tonya.  Then he wants to do a collage.  Guess we will have to wait and see what he comes up with.

I keep getting up on the furniture and they keep telling me to get down.  I am not so sure they understand.  The furniture is so much comfortable than the floor.

Hey, did you know that the Big Guy is a MOVIE STAR?  Yea, he did a commercial for Canadian Tire.  There is this product called "Dry Coat".  It protects your tools from rusting.  Did you want to see the video?  Click HERE.

So here I am, oh dark early and the Big Guy is hogging the computer keyboard.  He knows that I've got to get my Blog out there for my followers.

We were forecasted to get some BIG winds and HEAVY downpours.  Well, so far, nothing.like what we had on the Thanksgiving Day storm.  They are only forecasting less than 1/2 the rainfall.  Also, most of the trees have dropped their leaves, so that means no power loss.  I guess we still have another wave of the storm to come though, but that's only in a few hours from now.

You would be surprised how LOUD the Big Guy and Tonya will turn the TV up when I am chewing on my bone.  I guess I can be sorta, not quiet when I am chewing and rolling that huge bone around.  I heard that the local butcher store sells bones for $10.00 a bag.  I wonder if Tonya will get me some?

The Big Guy has an idea about going through all my videos and see where he could possibly do a slow-mo montage.  I bet that's going to take him a long time to set up.  Oh well, he can be pretty patient with stuff like that.

OK, for those of you that follow my blog and didn't watch the deam flying video...  here it is:

21/Oct/16 out front with my humans

Tonya wants to be able to sit outside as much and as often as she can.  She said that winter is coming.  I can only remember snow as a wee bitty puppy when I lived in Bathurst New Brunswick.  We didn't have too much, and it would melt each day.

I've seen some of the Big Guy's videos and they get a lot of snow around here.

Did you see that?  Wow, I wonder if we are going to get that much snow this year?

I know that there is a lot of Canadians that just HATE winter.  Well they should get used to it as it happens every year.

Right now, the Big Guy woke up early.  Something is on his mind.  He did a video of me on the kitchen floor this morning asking me if I was dreaming about flying.  I wonder what that could mean?

He is uploading some new videos to YouTube and he isn't talking a lot.  I've tried to get him to pat me, but he keeps going back to his keyboard.

So I was having fun on the deck yesterday.  I found my bucket under the chairs.  It was filled with rain water from Hurricane Matthew.  I took a sip and then DUMPED the water out.

It's hard to see though the bucket and run around the deck.  Look at the video and you will see what I am talking about.

So the Big Guy is only 16 subscribers away from me getting a steak.  Oh a yummy yummy steak.

The Big Guy was sorta sleepy this morning.  He made the coffee without putting water in the coffee maker.  He thought it sounded strange.  Then he went back and noticed...  no water.  So he filled up the water and now he's enjoying his morning coffee.

The Maritimes are due for another storm this weekend.  There is a cold front coming from the United States and it is going to blend with the tropical storm, that if it would have been a hurricane, it would have been named Hurricane Otto.  All's I know, it means a lot of rain.  Wind too.  But this time, a lot of the leaves are off the trees, so if we get a lot of wind, the trees shouldn't be falling on the power lines.  I guess we will see.

Well, the Big Guy isn't going to be able to test his new hedge trimmer this weekend if it's raining that much.

I am at the top of the stairs, protecting Tonya from who ever wants to come up.  Click on the picture and you will see how SCARY I look.  Grrr...

So I got a little piece of cooked fat from yesterday's beef stew that the Big Guy had made.  He is really looking for those 100 subscribers to his YouTube Channel.  When he gets them, he will be feeding me a steak.

The Big Guy is also a product tester for Canadian Tire.  Yesterday he got a new hedge trimmer, work gloves and a set of small pruning shears.  They look good for flowers.  He is going to be testing his new hedge trimmer on the weekend.  That is if the weather is nice.  Otherwise, nope.

There isn't a lot to talk about today.  Yesterday just wasn't all that exciting for me.  I got to sit outside for a bit.  Tonya and the Big Guy were dressed up as they are feeling the cold a lot more than I do.

18/Oct/16 look how many tiles I cover now

Good morning Cape Breton.

I can remember when I was a little puppy and I would just barely cover 3 of these tiles.  I am curled up a little bit and I cover over 4 tiles.  When I am all stretched out, I can cover close to 6 tiles and each tile is 13 inches square.

I've decided that I don't like my halti at all.  I certainly do NOT want that on my face when I am walking.  I struggle and wear myself out and then eventually just walk.  But I will stop and scratch at it.  The Big Guy and Tonya seem to like it on me though.

Last night, I was struggling so much, the Big Guy wanted to forgo my walk.  But Tonya kept at it and she was able to get me sorted out.  We went for a walk, but not like when I was a smaller puppy.  Now I bound and jump a lot.  But with the halti on, it pulls my face around.  So it really gets me upset.  I struggle more and it gets me just all wound up.

The Big Guy said something about me growing up and wondering if other owners goes though this much trouble to walk their dogs.

So we are up to 82 YouTube subscribers.  Only 18 more to go before I can have a steak.  Oh yea, yummy steak.

I think that Tonya would like the Big Guy to make her a beef stew.  She was watching some stuff on Facebook and there is a lot of people posting what they are making.

Did you see the video the Big Guy made of him cutting up a roast.  I could smell that you know.  To me, meat smells WONDERFUL.

Aunt June, I know that you feel that the Big Guy shouldn't be feeding me steak.  But it isn't going to be a steak all the time.  For the most part, I get my kibble and my fruit.  The Big Guy wouldn't do ANYTHING to purposely hurt me.

Yesterday I got to roll around where the Big Guy has moved all the fire wood.  I don't get to chew on any of the fire wood any longer.  But I guess me playing with it, if it would get sucked into his snow blower, boy would he be upset.

I got to see my Aunt Elaine last night.  She came by for supper and a few drinks.  She had to go home by Taxi.  Tonya and the Big Guy don't believe in drinking and driving.  Not like someone else that we know in the family.  It makes Tonya and the Big Guy feel so sad when they do that.  But this person is an adult and they will not stop.

Well another weekend is done.  Tonya and the Big Guy will be going to work and I will be spending my day inside my kennel.  It's a dogs life.

16/Oct/16 ears in the take off position

Good morning Cape Breton.

It's cold outside.  Right now, it's -1.  That's about 30 F for those that follow that temperature.  So the Big Guy has his little portable heater on.  Normally he has that heater box in the living room, but for now the heater box is in the computer room holding up his other heater.

Yesterday the Big Guy had me out on the deck.  He has moved ALL my favorite chew logs to another area of his yard.  But's that's OK, he has uncovered a lot of bugs and dirt.  I've been sniffing away at the new smells.

He also moved the bench that was next to the deck.  I used to lay under that.  Now I can't.  But I still have the dirt.  So it isn't all bad.

It took him close to 2 hours to move all the logs and clean up that area.

He was pretty tired when he was all done.  He used this little garden cart to move the logs.  I wonder if he got plans to have me pull that garden cart?

So yesterday the Big Guy threw down the gauntlet.  How many of you are going to pick it up?  He has said in a video that he has posted, if he gets over 100 subscribers to his YouTube channel, he is going to feed me a steak.  He will cook it and then feed it to me.

15/Oct/16 got put in the kennel for trying to get in bed

Good morning Cape Breton.

I just can't help myself.  I want... no... I NEED to get in bed with Tonya and the Big Guy.  I think they would even let me up there if only I would settle down and just sleep.  But I can't just sleep.  I MUST chew on everything!

I thought it was a game that Tonya wanted to play.  Turns out, she wasn't playing.  She put me in my kennel.

At 2:00 am, Tonya put me outside.  She was tired and wanted to go back to sleep.  Well I was awake and wanted her to pat me.  But when she pats me, I need to nip at her hands and fingers.  

Then it escalated.  She got mad.  I got EXCITED.  So I barked, barked, barked and BARKED!  Then I wanted to hop up in bed.  She would flail her arms about.  Oh what joy!  A new game!  She yelled, I would bark.  Her arm would dart out, I would try to catch her arm with my teeth!  She would screech!  

I WON!  I got the hand that feeds me!

She got out of bed and walked me over to my pillow.  So told me to "STAY!".  

I stayed still until I seen her getting into bed.  I am fast.  REALLY fast.  I tried to nip her feet before she put them back under the blankets.

OK, you won that round, but I jumped up on the bed and tried to find her feet.

More yelling!  OK, I will bark some more.  LETS MAKE SOME NOISE!

Hey, you didn't have to be such a sore looser and put me in my kennel.

Finally, after I was in my kennel, like, forever, the Big Guy come down stairs.  He didn't even speak with me.  He put on his slippers and got his camera and took my picture.

THEN he let me out and put me outside.
