30/Apr/23 branches gone

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy cut down some branches that needed to be cut.

But, he piled them up as they got cut.

Now, they need to be removed from the property.

He spent some time between sitting in his chair and putting the branches in the green bin.

Once the branch was in the green bin, he would use his branch trimmer to cut it.

The part would fall the ground.

He would pick that up, stuff it into the green bin.

Then cut it again.

Over and over and over, till the branch was fully cut up and put into the green bin.

He still has more branches that needs to be cut up.

He calls it a big nasty job that needs to be done.

Last year, he wasn't able to do that.

This year, he is down 50 pounds.

But he isn't Skinny Mini Miller just yet.

He has a long way to go yet.

My non-furry brother, Terry, isn't doing so well.

He will not go to the Vet.

Tonya asked the Big Guy to go talk with him.

Terry says he has another Dr appointment that he is going to go to.

I just want to go for a walk so that I can sniff stuff.

After I'm done sniffing it, I pee on it.

I gotta drink a lot of water.

Gotta have a lot of pee for my walk.

29/Apr/23 only lasted 4 minutes

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

We went to sit outside.

Only lasted 4 minutes.

It was too cold for the Big Guy.

The Big Guy was able to put the cupboard back together yesterday.  He was happy with his efforts.

The only part he didn't get done was the ceiling part of the cupboard.

He wasn't able to reach all the way to the back to be able to fill that part back in.

He said, that's a job for another day.

But the rack is back in place for the cookie sheets.

Which was the biggest part of the plan.

He also got to drive my non-furry brother, Terry, to the hospital to see the human vet.

Kind of funny how it happened.

If I were sick, I would of been admitted right away and would have been forced to stay at the vet.

The Big Guy brought his brother-in-law to the Regional Hospital.

After he waited a few hours, he called Tonya to tell the Big Guy to come and get him.

When the Big Guy got there, he asked if he had been seen by a Dr.

Nope.

Did they get to run any testes on you?

Nope.

So, you just decided to leave before you were seen by a Dr?

Yup.

His brother figured that Terry was going to be admitted, so he was getting into his special kibble (vodka).

When he heard that Terry was coming home, he put his special kibble (vodka) back into his room.

I only have "normal" kibble.

Perhaps next time, they should bring Terry to my vet.  I'm sure she could take care of him.

28/Apr/23 looking for dropped crumbs

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I got my two walks in yesterday.

I got my first walk in with the Big Guy in the morning.

He thought I was going to make is all the way home without having a poop.

Fooled him.

I could see my forever home.

I did the poopie dance.

At least that is what the Big Guy calls it.

The Big Guy is planning on putting the cupboard back together today.

He had to rip it apart in order for the plumbing to go in place.

Well the plumbing is in place and it isn't leaking.

So, now it's time to put the stuff back up again.

He was gentle enough not to break too much of the wood when he took it apart.

But, the Big Guy isn't 7 feet tall.

He will have to use a chair when he is putting the cupboard back together.

Also, he has to be aware of the new plumbing that is in place.

He can't drive a screw through the new stuff.

He says he has a plan.

We will see how well his plan works.

When he is all finished, the cookie sheets can go above the fridge again.

Tonya will be happy about that.

I will likely be told to go lay down and stay out of the way.

27/Apr/23 give me all your food

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, Tonya made spaghetti.

Some times, when she make her spaghetti, she will give me some of the pasta.

Not yesterday.

She made enough for their supper and for one more meal.

I really would have liked to have some pasta.

With spaghetti sauce.

Oh, and cheese.

No need for a candle.

My needs are pretty basic.

The Big Guy was saying that my paws are not looking very white.

Tonya says it's cause I'm walking in the dirt.

Not sure what dirt she is talking about.

There isn't any mud on our walks.

The last few days, the Big Guy takes me in the morning walk.

Tonya takes me on the evening walk.

I love having two walks a day.

Yesterday, Tonya took me for a SLOW walk.

So I didn't barf on the way home.

She let me set the pace.

The Big Guy prefers a slower pace.

He is still a very large man, so walking fast, just isn't him.

I popped out a few poo nuggets on our walk yesterday.

He put me outside so I could do my business.

He thought he fooled me.

Got my poo out before my walk.

Fooled him.

Although on Tonya's walk, I gave her a full bag to pick up.

I'm just giving like that.

26/Apr/23 I spy with my little eye

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

This past week, Tonya bought the Big Guy some gummy sharks from WalMart.

I love them.

He loves them too.

He can have 7 of them and they are 6 Weight Watcher points.

Now, he only has them in the evening when he is watching TV.

Honestly, he could also have carrot sticks, or radishes and he would be fuller and it would have a lot less Weight Watcher points.

But, he is loosing weight, so he indulges a bit.

When Tonya had me out for my walk.

I barfed up all my food.

When she walks me, it is more of a brisk pace that she sets.

The Big Guy is a slow walker.

He lets me sniff stuff.

Perhaps if he were to loose a lot more weight, he will walk a little faster.

He has new sneakers that is keeping his feet straight.

But Tonya is concerned that some human treats are just not for me.

The Big Guy decided, his gummy sharks are top of the list.

Shit...

25/Apr/23 give me your food

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, Tonya made a steak stir fry.

It had noodles.

It had veggies.

It had oyster sauce.

Tonya said that the oyster sauce was very salty.

I wouldn't mind.

But they didn't give me any.

Tonya's feet were still hurting her from Sunday.

She was outside and we also did that two block walk.

She was hurting.

Same with the Big Guy cause of the yard work he had done.

But he was pretty determined to take me for a walk.

As we were walking down the driveway, I lunged.

I'm normally very happy to be able to go for a walk.

When I lunged, the Big Guy had to step lively to be able to keep up so that he didn't fall down.

He stopped.

He mumbled that he was sorry and turned me around.

We went back in the house.

We didn't even get to leave the driveway and the walk was over.

I hope his ankles are a lot better today.

24/Apr/23 yard work is never done

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, Tonya and I went out in the back yard.

The Big Guy had his branch cutters with him.

He also had this really long pole device with him.

That has a saw blade and this branch cutter on it.

There is a tree that is at the corner of the property.

He trimmed all the branches on that tree.

He should of done that last year.

But last year, they hired someone else to do the yard work.

This year, the Big Guy has lost some weight, so he can do his own yard work.

Then, there is a tree that has been causing the Big Guy some concern.

That had a few hanging branches on it.

Past tense.

Now those branches are in a pile.

This week, the Big Guy needs to go outside with his chain saw and his branch cutter and cut them all up.

Some are going to go into the green bin.

Some are going to go in to his burn pile.

Then, if Tonya wants to have a bon fire, they got some wood that can be burnt.

I wonder if we are going to go for another two block walk today?

23/Apr/23 can we go for a walk

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday I went for two walks.

One in the morning with the Big Guy.

Second one in the evening, with the Big Guy and Tonya.

We stopped in to see Leo and Bonnie for a few minutes.

They were having their supper.

They also have a cat that was visiting.

Tonya told the Big Guy to let my leash go.

I found the cat food and ate it all up before they could take it away.

The Big Guy's new sneakers are helping him keep his feet straight.

So, right now, he is walking better.

Now, I heard the Big Guy got plans to do some yard work today.

There is some branches that needs to be trimmed.

We will see how well that goes.

After he is done trimming the branches, then he has to get rid of them.

So, he will cut them all up and put the smaller branches in the green bin.

The larger ones, he will put by the wood pile so they got wood they can burn.

They don't leave their fire pit out all year.

After each fire, and it is cold, the Big Guy dumps the ashes and puts the fire pit in the garage.

Same with his charcoal BBQ.

That always goes in the garage.

22/Apr/23 new walking sneakers

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Did you see the post that the Big Guy did yesterday?

He replaced 2 boards on the back deck.

It only took three different power tools.

I was forced to stay inside while he was outside fixing up the back deck.

Once he was done, I was allowed back outside.

Afterwards, Tonya and the Big Guy left the house.

They went to the new Zellers that is in Sydney.

They also left after looking around.

There wasn't anything there that they wanted.

They ended up going to a different store and getting the Big Guy new walking sneakers.

I'm sure he will not go any farther than about two blocks for now.

He also wants me to poo before we leave.

I rather have a nice relaxing poo while we are out walking.

All the Big Guy's recycle garbage got picked up yesterday.

He had 8 blue bags that he put to the curb.

There just happened to be storm after storm that seemed to happen on a Thursday before blue bag week.

He had to keep putting the blue bags aside for the next pick up.

The Big Guy also made a chicken fricassee.

It smelled wonderful.

That was the extent of my involvement with it though.

Friggin onions.

Oh and the cooking wine.

But sure did smell nice.
