Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya left the house for a LONG time yesterday.

I heard she will be at "work" again today as well.

The Big Guy was home.

He was puttering around in the back room where it was a catch me all.  That room caught a lot too.

But you can walk around that back room now.  What a difference he made.

I laid on the living room floor and watched him.

He went and played his XBox.  Then he would set the timer and would go move stuff to the basement.  Come back upstairs, and play he game and set the timer again.  He did this several times untill all the stuff was put in the basement.

There was other stuff, but that was just garbage.  So that it put in the garbage area.

He even found a bunch of Sobey's bags.

For those of you that don't remember what they are, they are the plastic bags that you used to get when you went shopping for your groceries.

Now, you are given paper bags, that you have to pay for.  Or you can bring your own cloth bags.  So far, that's what they have been doing.

There are these plastic tubs that they use to use for Superstore.  They are in the garage.  They haven't brought those out just yet.

But I can see the Big Guy doing that before too long.  When Tonya takes her family shopping, they always seem to forget their bags and end up "borrowing" our bags.  Oh, doesn't that make the Big Guy pissy.

30/Aug/21 don't chew the slippers

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I can't say that I am very happy today.

Tonya is going back to work.

I am happy that she is up early and all that.  That bit is fine.  But she is going to be gone all day long.

That means I will have to put up with the Big Guy and all his antics.

I know he will NOT feed me all the treats that Tonya does through the run of the day.

Begging him for some of his lunch, well, that's a no brainer.  That's a hard no.

I'm going to have to lean on her when she gets home.

Tonya is likely going to have a few things for the Big Guy to do, now that she is back to work.  A "Honey Do" list.

I've heard that a lot of husbands have that list.

I know what the Big Guy would rather do.

Did you guess, play is XBox all day long?

I am sure he will get some time on his game today.

That and totally forget about me.

Oh woe is me.

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya and the Big Guy went to visit Leo and Bonnie.  I could smell their cat off of Tonya.  I know she visits there with Leo and Bonnie from time to time.

She comes home and I can smell their cat off of her.

She pretends like she isn't cheating on me.

Cause, well, it's a cat.

Not like she is going to visit their dog.

Now, that wouldl be cheating.

The Big Guy seen that it's going to be raining the next few days.

He has also noticed, there are some trees around his property, that haven't endured the heat so well.

I heard there was a hurricane that was going to hit in the Gulf of Mexico.  Supposed to be a category 4 storm.

We don't get storms that severe in Canada.  But that's not to say that we don't get blizzards.

But, for a blizzard, it's different.  By the time a blizzard hits, all the leaves are off the trees.  Some branches would blow off the trees, but it would be mostly dead branches.

When we get hurricanes here, the winds do a lot of damage to the trees because the leaves are still on the trees.  So the tree is really blown around.

So far, no hurricanes are forecasted to visit us.  But I know that could change.  I guess we will see what this year brings.

28/Aug/21 I am wiped from being at the gromer

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

OK, so I may look handsome once again, but it certainly comes with a cost.

I got washed.

I got brushed.

I got blown dry.

I got my nails cone.

All that and I didn't bite anyone.

There was a lot going on.

I didn't approve of any of it.

At one point, they had me on this little stand with this small collar on.

I decided, on my own, I was leaving.

I took the platform with me.

Because they had to move the platform back and put me back on it, the assistant wasn't paying attention and the platform landed on his foot.

He yelled out in pain.

I don't really know what karma is, but I think it visited him for all the torcher he was putting me through.

But I must admit, I am looking pretty good.

27/Aug/21 who doesn't like to pee outside

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy got a little upset yesterday.

There was people posting stuff on Facebook.  It was making him sad to see what they were posting.  He really didn't agree with what they were saying.  He unfriended a bunch of people.

So, if you are seeing this post on Facebook, you obviously didn't get unfriended.

Tonya told me, she is going to be going back to work soon.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to miss her while she is at work.

Yes, I do have the Big Guy who works from home.  So that should make is easy for me.

But he doesn't shower me with attention like she does.

He also doesn't share his food with me like Tonya does.

I suspect, during his days off, he will be playing a lot of XBox and watching TV shows that Tonya doesn't really like that much.

Yes, I know he will have Tonya's supper waiting for her.  Well, at least on his days off.  But if he is at work himself, kinda hard for him to accomplish that.

Unless he cooks in the morning, before he goes to work.  Then puts it in the fridge, so that they have have it like left overs.

Tonya doesn't much care for left overs.

I personally love left overs.  Actually fresh is pretty good too.

Not that I am getting as much human food as I would like.  The Big Guy looks at Tonya every time she feeds me her food.  She knows the look.  

Going to the groomer today.  Not sure that I'm happy about that.  Tonya said she is going to give me a pill to chill me out.

26/Aug/21 I wonder if I would like green eggs and ham

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Although you can't see it in this picture, it was very foggy.  

So much so, that Tonya was thinking about the Steven King movie, "The Mist".

The Big Guy wasn't thinking about that movie. 

He was looking that the tree stump that is in the yard, that the clothes lines is hooked up to.

The leaves have mostly dried up.

He isn't sure if that tree is on it's final stages or not.

But he knows that he has to remove the branches off that tree.

This would be a job for next week, after the green bin has been emptied.  Right now, there is no room for any more tree branches in the bin.

There is also the bushes that are next to his garage.

He knows they have got to be cleaned up as well.  They have finally died.  But they were rose bushes.  The thorns still remain.  He isn't looking forward to the thorns.  Getting them into the green bin is going to be something.

That is unless he can use the hedge trimmer to cut them down and then use his lawn mower to mulch them.

Humans and their problems.

Sure glad I'm a dog.

25/Aug/21 I'm not looking at your plate

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday the Big Guy made BBQ steak.

No hot dogs.

Of course, I stared at Tonya while she ate her supper.

She eventually gave me some of her steak.

After supper, Tonya got us to sit outside for a bit.

She went after me with the furminator while the Big Guy distracted me.

I also heard, while they were out yesterday that the Big Guy seen a Tesla Model Y.  It is the electric mid sized SUV.  He really liked what he saw.

So much so, that he thinks this may be his next car.

They watched some videos about the car.

The Big Guy figures, in a few years, after the Flex has been paid off, and they get some money together, that he will be looking to get that car.

That is, unless something else catches his fancy.

That is the way with him.

Always wants something new and flashy.

Good morning world.

I had to share my toys yesterday.

I can't say that I was very happy about that.

I barked at Aurora.

Later on, Baby Floyd snuck up on me and was touching my bum area.

I barked at Baby Floyd.

That got me a "time out" in the back mud room.

I was happy to go there too.

These little people.

Their hands dart so quickly.

They have to touch everything that I own.

Honestly.

Boundaries people, boundaries.

I was only protecting my stuff and I'm the one that gets yelled at and sent for a time out.

I hear they grow up.

They better know, not to touch my stuff.

23/Aug/21 you're a pretty funny guy

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

As the season is changing, my fur is coming out.  I am shedding at a fantastic rate.

Tonya has said, numerous times, she is surprised that I'm not bald.  Or even that I don't have bald patches.

There is this hurricane that is coming up the coast.  But it's due to fizzle out by tomorrow.  We are hardly going to get any rain from this event.

The Big Guy had clipped some trees around the property a few weeks ago.  They were still full of leaves.

The leaves have all dried up.  So, today, the Big Guy plans to go around and collect up all these branches and put them into the green bin.  Now that the leaves are no longer in the way and blocking his view, he shouldn't have much problems putting them in the green bin.

We will see how that plan goes.

He also has that lawn mower, and he may decide to mow over the smaller stuff.  He has done that numerous times.

He mowed over a beer can that was on this front lawn.

He turned it into steel wool.  There was virtually nothing left after he run it over a few times.

I heard that Floyd may be dropping by with his kids today.

If yes, that means they also might be cooking some hot dogs.

I hope so.

22/Aug/21 just chillin and relaxin

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

With the temperature finally breaking, we can go about our regular daily routine.

The Big Guy woke up this morning and he was cold.

They got a fan in the bedroom window and it sucks in cold air from the outside of the house.

I can finally go lay outside and not have to search for the shade.  I can actually lay in the sun once again and let the sun heat up my fur.

Cats tend to do that a lot.  They will lay in the sun and let their fur heat up.

Tonya made some banana bread the other day.  She has been pretty miserly about giving me some.

Then when she does, I snap at it and eat it up.  She yells at me to be gentle.

Listen lady, you have been holding back and I want what I want.

Yesterday, Tonya gave the Big Guy some chicken wings and fries.  I went to sniff his plate and he flicked my nose.  I didn't appreciate that at all.  I just wanted a sniff.

But then again, my hair also flies all over the place.

He said that he didn't want my hair on his supper.

I can understand that.  Who would want hair on their plate?

Myself, it doesn't bother me one bit.

21/Aug/21 can you feel the heat as much as I can feel the heat

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy was looking on the internet to see what the weather was going to be like.

He wasn't amused to see that all the advertisements loaded up just fine, but the information that he was looking for, namely the WEATHER, didn't load at all.

He said that he is going to wait, go downstairs and watch the weather network on TV.  There isn't as many advertisements there.

There is supposed to be a storm coming our way.  Or not.  He really can't see anything in the forecast.

Myself, I would just love to have the weather change a bit.  Cooler would be nice.

Also, if what ever Tonya or the Big Guy are cooking, they could make some for me.

I love human food.

It's the best.

It has taste.

My kibble, sorta bland.  I mean, it's OK.  Some kibble is a lot better than other kibble.  They were getting me some WalMart kibble.  It gave me really bad breath.

Then I would pant right in Tonya's face.

She didn't like that much at all.

20/Aug/21 the grass is cool on my belly fur

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Last week, when it was really warm.

We would sit out front.

I would quietly go over to the side of the deck and then I would dig at the ground.

I was looking for the cooler earth that was under the grass.

Then I would plop myself down.

Tonya got so upset with me.

When I got up, most of the earth would fall off me.

But not all of it.

Then, when I was laying on the living room floor, the bits and pieces of earth would fall off me and on to the living room floor.

Tonya was furious at me.

Tonya set up the pool in the back deck for me.

It would only stay cool for a few hours.  By the afternoon, it was really warm.

Tonya would say, it's warm as milk.

Really?  You let you milk get that warm?  The Big Guy prefers his, right from the fridge.  I would say around 4 C.  Your milk is at 25 C.  You like it like that?

Now who is the weirdo.

19/Aug/21 all these new toys, but my huge water bowel is still here

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

As you can see, there are a few items on the back deck that belong to Aurora and Baby Floyd.

The newest item, the picnic table.

I'm surprised that Tonya hasn't made the Big Guy go to the garage and get the Tonka toys and put them on the deck as well.  Then again, plastic doesn't rust.

Tonya toys are metal and will rust.  Although I think the new Tonya toys are plastic.

It's raining.

Not very hard.

But it's raining none the less.

The grass really needs it.

So do the trees and plants and such.

The farmers are never quiet happy about how much or how little rain they get.  They get too much heat, or not enough.  Never too much sun though.  They are happy with that.

Right now, they can't hire enough farm hands to harvest their crops.  No one wants to do back breaking work for little pay.

Right now, stores and restaurants that want to open, can't.  They don't have enough employees either.  

No one wants to work for minimum wage.

No one wants to start at the bottom of the corporate ladder.

No one is getting what they want.

Going to be interesting times.
