30/Nov/16 Lazer eyes charged and ready for use

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So the Big Guy got the new recycle bin all done up and on the deck.  The old one has got to go to the trash.  But that will not be will the spring during Big Pickup.  Once a year, you can throw out all your trash that you've been hording.  People will actually drive around and pick through your trash to see if there is anything that they can use or resell.  I don't think that anyone will be able to re purpose an old recycle bin that is falling apart and has big chunks of plastic missing.

But you never know...

We are supposed to get ANOTHER storm.  The Big Guy is pretty happy that it is only rain and isn't snow.  It will snow soon enough, so no sense trying to wish it early.  Although I am sure if you work at a ski resort, you can't have it snowing soon enough.  But the Big Guy doesn't work at a ski resort and couldn't care less if they were un-employed FOREVER.

I think the Big Guy should move to some place like Florida, where they don't have snow.

But the trade off is hurricanes.  He doesn't much like them either.

Did you see all the Santa videos that are on line?  Phew, looks like he's got a lot of work to do on December 25th.

Bye bye for now.

29/Nov/16 they got a new recycle bin and I don't like it

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I got to spend the day with Tonya as the Big Guy had to go to work yesterday.

He came home for like 2 minutes and he was out the door again.

He gave a small TV to a friend that needed a new computer monitor.  He is hoping that it works good for him.  Paws are crossed, hoping that it works out for his friend.

Then he went to Sydney to get a new recycle bin for his empty cans.  When he took it out of the back seat of the car, the bin bumped on the ground and made a very LOUD noise.  I got scared and ran away.  I tried to hide on the back deck, but it didn't help as the Big Guy was moving the new bin towards me.

He let me inside and I tried to run into the kitchen, but I was still attached to my lead.  Once he let me go, I ran into the living room.  But snuck back in to see if the Big Guy was OK.  He was doing other stuff, but the new recycle bin was just sitting in the kitchen.  So I barked at it.  A lot.  I showed that new bin who's the boss.

The Big Guy was saying that he needs to find a strong rope to attach the lid.  It fits tight, and he doesn't want it blowing away during the first storm that they have.  Then they are going to replace the square recycle bin they have on the deck with this round one.

We are supposed to get another storm.  No snow just yet.  Mostly rain.  But chances of some flurries in there.  Guess we will see.

Bye bye for now.

28/Nov/16 the tree was in a box

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So yesterday the Big Guy opened this box and he put three pieces together.  It made a tree.  Then as each section was going into the next, the lights would come on.  I gave the tree a good sniff.  But it doesn't really smell much like a tree.

Then the Big Guy took down the large painting they have above the fireplace and they put up this new painting.  They have a friend, Bruce, he needed a new computer monitor as his got broken.  Bruce gave them this oil painting as a thank you.

I gave the snow man, the once over too.  The Big Guy told Tonya, I go in my kennel when I am being left alone at home.  He doesn't want me to be tempted with anything.

They have a blue recycle bin on the deck.  Well it's seem better years.  I was eating the plastic side and the cans are spilling out on to the deck.  I think they plan to get a new recycle bin later today.

As for those cans that are spilling out of the recycle bin, I've been chewing on them.  I wonder what the guys at the recycle plant must think?  His cans are full of holes, but it doesn't look like they were shot.

We had some big winds yesterday.  But nothing got damaged on our property.  I hope that no one else's property got damaged.

Bye bye for now.

27/Nov/16 Storm day, time to stay indoors

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Yesterday I said that we were supposed to have winds of 90 kph.  They lied.  Now they are forecasting winds gusting to 120 kph and telling people not to travel.

The forecasters are also saying that loose stuff is going to be blown around and that traveling on the highway isn't advised.  Plus branches from trees are expected to be blown down.

This will very likely mean power outages.

At least my humans have been removing some of the big trees that are around their yard.  Otherwise, they could be part of the damage that may be done during this storm.  They still have about 3 more trees to go.  But that will be another day that they will take care of them.

So the Big Guy was looking at this product that he seen on Daily Planet.  This is a TV show that he watches every day.  It attaches to your tail and you can poop right inside the bag.  Not sure if I would like this on my arse.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWU4uaI3iS0

Bye bye for now

26/Nov/16 How much is that doggie in the window?

Good morning Cape Breton.
Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Here I am looking for Tonya.  I don't like it much when she leaves me.  I get so excited when she comes home again.  So much so, that I jump up on her and then bite her.  Just like I would do with my furry brothers and sisters.

The garbage guys were late last night.  They didn't come around till after 5:00 pm last night.  Then again, the Big Guy is hardly ever home on a Friday.  So how would he know if they were late or not?

I was on the deck yesterday while the Big Guy went to his garage and pulled out the lawn tractor.  Then he removed the lawn mower deck and put on the snow blower attachment.

It took him about 90 minutes to do that.  Now next spring, it will go so much faster.  Then again, it was designed to be a lawn mower.  The fact that it will turn into a snow blower is secondary.

But I would watch him and then I would bark.  I have a LOUD bark now.

They are forecasting for a lot of rain here tomorrow.  Not like what we had during Thanksgiving weekend.  We got 290 mm of rain.  That is a lot.  Tomorrow, we are only supposed to get 40 mm of rain.  Glad it's rain and not snow.  That would be 40 cm of snow.

Going to have some big winds today as well.  Gusting over 90 kph.

It's funny, as I am typing this, the Big Guy is doing the conversion in his head.

Bye bye for now.

25/Nov/16 It's Black Friday and I am Black, am I for sale?

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

This is my "sexy" over the shoulder pose.  What do you think girls?  Aren't I ravishing?

There is a lot of stuff for sale right now.  I hope I am not one of them.

So I went for a drive yesterday and we went to Ann-Marie's shop in Sydney Mines.  She cut my toe nails and didn't charge alot either.  I have a dew claw that the nail was so long, it was growing right around and back into my paw.  She fixed it for me.  It bled a bit, but she fixed me right up.  She is such a nice lady.

I got to have some chicken gravy with last night's supper.  The Big Guy made this "Newfie Poutine".  You will have to check out his Food Blog to see what I am talking about.

Frankie MacDonnald is telling everyone about this big storm that's coming out way on Sunday.  We bought out Storm Chips once.  They tasted OK.  But there was some big controversy about them and they don't sell them any more.  Not everyone knows about him.  But here is the link to his warning:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGED4kXTr0Q

Well, I should close for now so that the Big Guy can post his thing about the Food Blog

Bye bye for now.

24/Nov/16 I weigh 93 pounds now

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Tonya took me to the vet to get some heart worm medicine and my last flea treatment for the year.  They had to weigh me twice as Tonya didn't believe how much I weighed.

I was not settling yesterday.  Every time Tonya would go to do something, I would be right behind her trying to see what she was doing.  She tried to swiffer the floor.  Well I would bite the handle of the mop.  She tried to clean something, well I would try to take the cloth away from her.

I only wanted her to relax on her day off.

She made this meatballs with chilli sauce and grape jelly.  The hamburger that she bought, isn't the stuff that they normally use.  It wasn't that it was bad, but just had the wrong texture.  This hamburger came in a tube.  She said that it took a lot of crackers to hold the meatballs together.

Then she made a stir fry to go along with the meatballs.

The Big Guy thought it was pretty good.

BUT, I didn't get ANY of them.  What did I get?  I got kibble.

The Big Guy has to bring in his car to get a winter tune up today.  He is also getting the snow tires on the car.

Talking of snow.  Yesterday, as he was typing out his Food Blog, he looked outside and it was snowing.  Not hard, but enough to say, yup, it's snowing out.

Bye bye for now.

23/Nov/16 I have VERY big paws

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Did you see my new video?  I get up on the furniture, no problems at all.

Yesterday I was out of the kennel for 1/2 the day.  Tonya doesn't mind so much when the Big Guy puts me in the kennel, but she says that it breaks her heart when she has to put me in the kennel.

I don't think it's going to be much longer before I see snow flying.  It is getting very cold out at nights and it's been snowing in Norther New Brunswick for several weeks now.

Well, I don't have alot of other news, so I will just let you enjoy my video.

Bye bye for now

22/Nov/16 my floors are made of wood

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So a long time ago, before I was born.  The Big Guy used to live in the Military Barracks in Victoria BC.

He was invited to a friends house.

There was another couple that brought their two boys along with them.

Now the boys were FULL of energy.

They were running around playing.  At one point, one of the boys was on one of the chairs and jumped off the chair and landed on the floor.

The young lad stopped.

As he is looking at the hardwood floor, he looks up at his father and says "The floor is made of wood!".

It was this child's honesty that everyone found so funny.

So yesterday, Tonya decided that she would try and trust me and leave me out of my kennel for the day.  Well, I can tell you now, long story short, I am going to be back in my kennel when they go to work.

The Big Guy has this note pad that he kept on the end table, with a pen tucked into the note pad.  This way, if ever he needed to write something down, there was the pen and paper to do just that.  Have you ever been watching a TV series and didn't know where you left off?  Well, this pad of paper was used to know, which show to watch next.

Well, I chewed up the pad of paper.  Actually destroyed the pad would be a better term.  Then made short work of the pen.  Tonya found this LONG curly wire.  She didn't know where it came from.  The Big Guy explained to her, it WAS the spring that was in the pen.

So, I will be back in the kennel again.

Hey, that sounds like a Country and Western song.

Bye bye for now.

21/Nov/16 scratch me... just there... ahhhhh

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

You can see how much I am enjoying being scratched right behind the ear.  I try to scratch Tonya, but she gets REALLY upset.

So yesterday I made a few people laugh and smile.

We went for a drive to see Terry, Craig and Has.  When we were leaving, the Big Guy opened the sun roof on the car and I stuck my head out through the roof of the car.  As we were driving, people were smiling and laughing at me.

So, there is still no Christmas Decorations up just yet. I think the Big Guy is waiting for this weekend.  When stuff goes up, other stuff has to come down.  He isn't sure where he is going to put the tree just yet.  They know not to put it in the front window as I really NEED to see outside.

I guess we will see where it ends up.

The Big Guy cooked up a package of bacon yesterday and he knows there was lots of left over bacon.  He wanted to make a bacon and tomatoe sandwich for his breakfast and he can't find the bacon from yesterday.  He's looking at me as if to say that I took the bacon.

He found the bacon.  Man oh man, it was pretty close there.  I was in a tupperware container, that he thought was left over spaghetti.

Bye bye for now.

20/Nov/16 please play with my piggy

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So it's been raining a lot.  Man oh man, if those people on the mainland don't have their wells filled up by now, they never will.

Ever since Jason Hatcher stopped working with the Big Guy, it's been raining a lot.

Coincidence?

You tell me.

I was good all day long yesterday.  I had my pats.  I would go outside.  I would lay down.  I would chew on my toys.

Then Tonya came home.

YIPPEE!  Time to be a bad dog again!

She would yell at me.  I would bark in excitement.

She would grab me, trying to bite my ears and I would nip at her and run away!

FUN TIMES!

She got upset with the Big Guy and I don't think he said something that made her happy.  I don't bite at him.  Or nip him very much.  He only likes to pat.  When he yells, I know I screwed up.  When he reaches for me, he rarely misses.

They were talking about the Christmas decorations where they are going to put them up.

I heard they are going to have a tree and it's going to be INSIDE the house.

Can't wait.

Bye bye for now.

19/Nov/16 my feet are white again

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

After my bath, my paws are white again.  Which is good, because it's nice to be clean.

Although this is the back door from the outside.  When Tonya opened the inside door last night to see why I was so quiet, I ran up the stairs and jumped on the door.

Someone's going to have to wash that door.

I created a mud puddle by digging where the rain falls off the roof and on to the ground.  With the metal roof, they don't have rain gutters any longer.

I even took my little piggy for a mud bath.

When Tonya washed my little piggy, she said that there was even mud pressed into his little nose.

After she was all done cleaning him, I got to chew on the little piggy once again.  I was really happy about that.

Bye bye for now.

18/Nov/16 I discovered MUD!

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Last night, Tonya put me outside.  I was quiet.  Really quiet.

She couldn't figure it out.  She knew it was raining outside.  Not a hard rain, but enough to say that, yes, it's raining out.  It's been like that for 2 days now.  Do you know what happens when it rains out?  The ground that used to be hard to dig, gets SOFT.  Normally I have white fur on my paws.

I even got some mud on my chest fur.

My underbelly was coated in mud.

Surprise surprise, I got to have a bath.

The mud from my fur made the side of the tub dirty.

I know what water is.  I have no real issue with it either.

The Big Guy had to kinda force me into the tub.  So I stood in the tub.

Can you see how dirty the water is in the tub?

Eventually they had to turn on the shower, cause there was just so much mud in the tub.

They couldn't believe it, even my tail had mud in it.

Then it was play time with the towels.  They tried to get as much water off me before I could shake the water off.  They tried hard too.  But in the end, once the towel came off me, I gave a good shake and there was water EVERYWHERE!

Although you can't see it in these photos, my paws are clean again and so is my white fur.

From now on, I don't imagine that I will be left outside for very long.

Bye bye for now

17/Nov/16 it's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I heard that my non-furry memere was sick with the flu.  I hope that she can get over her cold soon.  Humans don't react all that well when they are sick.  I am sure glad that doggies don't get the flu.

So the Big Guy was going to make this roast thing in the slow cooker, but then he found out, he doesn't have all the ingredients that he normally uses.  Would you believe, one of the ingredients is a can of coke?

Survivor was on last night.  The Big Guy is going to go make his breakfast while he goes and watches his program.  Tonya will watch it, but it's not the first thing she will look forward to seeing.

Tonya likes the Young and Restless.  Oh yea, and Coronation Street.  Normally when she is watching Coronation Street, the Big Guy is playing his video game.

As you can see in the picture, I was laying down.  The floor is wet cause I was laying on that part of the floor.  But Tonya used a towel to get most of the water off me.

The Big Guy was talking to someone online.  The person was talking about his metal roof.  He had watched the video of the rain falling on his roof and how it sounded different.  The guy was telling him about this foam insulation that should be put down under the steel before the steel it put on the roof.  Well it's a bit late now.  The roof has been installed for 2 years now.

Bye bye for now.

16/Nov/16 I was minding my own business when the paparazzi showed up

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Always with the pictures.  I was sleeping, just minding my own business and I could hear the Big Guy creeping up on me.  Then FLASH!  I am BLIND now because of that flash.  I should have slept outside.  Then he wouldn't have bugged me.

It's going to rain today.  But I don't get the doggie smell when my fur gets wet.  Geoff Bona confirmed that Odin doesn't smell either when he gets wet.

So yesterday Tonya decided it was time to get a bath and have bubbles in it.  I was so excited. I never seen bubbles before.  I tried to eat as many of the bubbles as I could.

Tonya washed my face with a wet facecloth.  I thought, oh, this is a new chew toy.  I tired to get it from her, but she put it back in the tub under the water.  Little does she know, I don't mind the water now.  I tried to get to the facecloth even though it was under water.

WHAT IS THAT?  I seen 10 little piggies poking up from the water.  Time to BITE the little piggies!

Of course the little piggies were attached to Tonya.

This was NOT bath time fun for her.

When I started to get into the tub with her, she decided to pull the plug and drain the tub.

I just couldn't understand this.  Tonya posted this picture on Facebook, where you have to keep your dishwasher clean.

There's been a few times when I got to lick the plate.  Am I not a dish washer?  Don't I get to be clean?  I only wanted to share the bath with her.  It looked like an indoor pool to me.

Bye bye for now.
