30/Jun/19 I think I heard someone say Summer is coming

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So it's raining out now.  Not hard rain.  This is the gentle rain that you get where sitting out on the covered deck, with a warm beverage, and you can listen to the rain falling.

BUT, we don't have a covered deck.

Our neighbors across the street have a covered deck, but they never sit outside.

The Big Guy remembers as a younger man, sitting out on the deck of the cottage.  Listening to the rain.  Didn't matter if it was in the morning, afternoon, or evening.  They would listen to CKCW from Moncton New Brunswick.  That was pretty much the only radio station to listen to.  Unless you were the Big Guy's father.  He would listen to CBC radio for the news and what not.

Now, there are so many radio stations.  No one agrees on which station to listen to.

You can even pay to listen to the radio.  This is something that most cars can subscribe to now.  It's called Sirius Radio.  It's over satelights and you can listen to it as your driving from coast to coast.

The only thing the Big Guy doesn't like about that.  You don't get local weather reports or the news, or items that are going on in your area.  But he sees this service as being something that long distance truckers would listen to.

Since my paws are a big big, I rely on Tonya and the Big Guy to tune the radio station to my personal favorite: Max FM, 98.3 CHER in Sydney Nova Scotia.  They have their own website: http://983maxfm.com/

29/Jun/19 you can fill the treat dispenser again

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Look at the picture above.  Do you see that round ball with the top on it?  Well, Tonya and the Big Guy will put treats in the top of the ball.  Then put that screw top back on and then hand me the ball.

I roll it around and treats pop out.  Now, if they put in small sized treats, they tend to fall out quickly and I gobble them all up.

If larger treats and put in the top, they take a lot of effort and banging around for them to fall out of the ball.

This gets me angry with the ball.

I will pick it up with my mouth and I will throw it around the deck.

Now, since the ball is hard plastic, it will hurt you when it lands on your feet.

Again, take notice in the picture.  Tonya doesn't have any shoes on.

Her mistake.

Since I use my mouth to pick up the ball, it is full of drool and what not.

When it touches her feet.  She will often scream: YUCK!  Or she will scream: GET AWAY!

This makes the Big Guy smile.

He smiles often at Tonya's discomfort.

28/Jun/19 what's the magic word to get me to move

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

The Big Guy has this little portable battery operated radio that he will carry around with him.  He just loves that little radio.  He even bought an extra set of rechargeable batteries for it.  Because it has an electronic tuner, the station doesn't drift like some radios.  This radio even tunes into the weather network that is being broadcast by Environment Canada.  It will flip over, automatically, if there is a weather warning.

But the other day, when he was putting in the battery, this part fell out.  So he sat at the kitchen table, with a special screw driver and took the radio apart.

He was able to put the part back in place and he was so happy with himself for that.

Normally, we live in a society, where you don't take things apart to fix them.  It breaks, you throw it away.  It's cheaper to get stuff new than it is to get it repaired.

Yesterday, the Hot Dog maker, well, you sometimes will call it a BBQ, it didn't make Hot Dogs.  Oh no...  This time, it made...

HAMBURGERS

I was astounded.

This brings the Hot Dog maker to a whole new level.

The Big Guy and Tonya didn't seem to get excited about this either.  Like really?  This brings the Hot Dog maker to a whole new level.

Tonya cut up my hamburger.  Then she brought it outside.  Of course, I take my hamburger plain.  Not condiments for me.  No bread either.  Just the hamburger patty.

This makes the Big Guy roll his eyes.

Look dude, Tonya is going to feed me the burger, so you may as well just except that it's going to happen.

That's why I like her more.  She is my "special" human.  The Big Guy is OK and what not, but she is the one I love more.

27/Jun/19 I will share my toy if you will play with me

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Yesterday the Big Guy took me shopping.  Although he didn't take me into the store.  He left me in the car while he went inside the store.  We went to Superstore and he came out empty handed.  Which was weird.

Then we went to Sobey's and he came out with a bag of stuff.

So, I would reason, he found what he was looking for.

Turns out, it was onions.

I can't have onions.

So honestly, he could have come out with NOTHING and I would have been just as far ahead.

The Big Guy was going through his email and he found something interesting.  There was this TV program that both himself and Tonya really liked.  It was called "Stranger Things".  Well on the 4th of July, season 3 is coming to Netflix.

So...  with that, I'm thinking that the Big Guy is hoping that the weather will be exceptionally bad and that he will be able to watch TV all day long.

Honestly, it doesn't matter much.  Tonya will be at work that day.  So he will wait till she gets home before they start watching it.

Yesterday, the Big Guy put out some peanuts for the Blue Jays that were screeching.  Well, they flew away and didn't get any peanuts.  But this morning, as the Big Guy was putting me out, well, the Blue Jays were back and were collecting all the peanuts that he had put out.

Yesterday evening, we went to sit out on the front deck.  Tonya went across the street to get the flyers that keeps being delivered to the house where no one lives.  They have tried to get the flyers delivered to their house, but the flyers keeps getting cancelled.  We're not sure who keeps cancelling the flyers.  But as long as they keep being delivered to the house across the street where no one lives, were good.

26/Jun/19 your sweater needs more dog fur on it

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So this show is back on TV.  It's called Big Brother.  This is a show that the Big Guy and his mother, that is my non-furry Memere will watch.  Then they email each other to talk about the show.

Tonya doesn't like those shows and thinks that they are stupid.

I will say this.  Those shows certainly don't bring out the best in people.  The people that are the nicest, certainly don't win.  You pretty much have to lie and cheat to win.

Yesterday Tonya and the Big Guy took off for a bit.

But when they came home, the door opened a wee bit and a huge treat was shoved into my mouth.

I took off to chew on the treat while they brought groceries into the house.

I tried to chew up the treat as fast as I could so that I could help them unload the groceries.  Well, they had lot of really good stuff in the grocery bags.  Once I was done sniffing through everything, I would go back to the grocery bags that really had my attention.

Then, later on, we went outside and the Big Guy was standing next to the hot dog maker.  I had to wait a bit, but I will be darned it if didn't make me a hot dog.  I was AMAZED!

I sure hope you got a hot dog maker at your house.  I think every house should have one.

25/Jun/19 I will stay here so that you can't leave

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I was sort of surprised when the Big Guy came down stairs today.  It was really early.  He said that he couldn't sleep.

So he turned the TV on and promptly fell asleep in front of the TV.

Now he is hobbling around a bit.  I guess his knee is a bit sore from just sitting on the couch at an odd angle.

You can bet, he is going to go back to the TV once again and probably fall asleep again.

Why doesn't he just find a nice place on the floor, like I do?

So far, it doesn't look like the Big Guy will be mowing the grass this week.  Yes, we got the rain, but you also need sun shine for the grass to grow.

With the weather being like it is, there really isn't much going on.

Just a lot of watching TV.

TV doesn't interest me that much.  Unless there are animals on TV.  That doesn't happen that often.

24/Jun/19 let me in or I will huff and puff your door down

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

The Big Guy was telling me about the weather that is upcoming this week.  I must admit, if I were a human, I'd be pretty upset.  The temp is not due to go above +18 C this week.

They keep saying that Global Warming is happening.  Well, it's rather hard to believe when you got temperatures like this.

Yet it isn't so hard to believe in Global Warming, when you look at other places around North America.  That is when you see the "big picture".  There is more intense storms and the like.

As the Big Guy looks out his window, he knows that he will NOT have to cut the grass this week.  Although we have been getting rain, it hasn't been sunny along with the rain, to encourage the grass to grow.

The trees are finally displaying their leaves.  There are some trees that are slower to get their leaves.  But they have finally caught up to the other trees.

A few weeks ago, the Big Guy brought his branch cutters to work and hacked away at the trees that are at work, near where he parks his car.  He pushed the trees over to one side.  Now, had he been at home, he would have cut them up and put them in the green bin.

But one day, they were gone.

He doesn't know who moved them or who took them.  He's just glad they are gone.

The Big Guy was noticing the next door neighbors house.  They got a wasp nest that is being built on their house.  But it is being built on their third floor of their house.  Way up in the attic part of the house.

Normally this indicates that we will be having a hard Winter that is coming up.

Lets just hope that this group of wasps are really dumb and didn't know know about Global Warming.  So far, the last few years, there really hasn't been a lot of snow in our area.

So we will wait and see.

23/Jun/19 I give a paw, you give a treat

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I am always so happy when my humans come home from when they have been out.

Like last night.

The door opens and I'm so excited to see Tonya and the Big Guy.  But the door only opens a crack, but a treat is shoved into my face.

So who am I to deny the pleasures of a treat?

I get so excited when my humans get home.  I want to greet them.  I want to love them up for coming home to me again.

My normal routine is to grab a shoe and run around the house with it.

That's my "thing".

But they are trying to teach me something new.

Door opens, I get a treat.  Instead of door opens, I get super excited, I jump up and down.  I grab a shoe and take off though the house.  Tonya yells at me.  I run faster than she can.  It's a great game.

But this is different.

Door opens a crack, I can barely see that it's them, and a treat gets shoved into my mouth.

Since I love treats more than jumping on my humans, they had better start leaving treats in the car for when they get home each day.

22/Jun/19 HELP, I'm trapped under this chair

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

OK, so I really wasn't trapped under the chair.

I was playing with bunny and I decided to lay down.  This is what I looked like after I laid down and the Big Guy decided that was the perfect time to take my picture.

Nice guy.

Oh well, I suppose, it could be worst.

It's raining again today.

This is the weekend for a lot of people.  This really puts a pinch on their out door activities.  The Big Guy is so glad that he was able to trim the hedge and mow the lawn.

Now, there is this tree that is growing at the end of his driveway.

There is a branch that is hanging low.

His car will currently pass below the branch.  But he's not sure for how long.

BUT, the neighbor across the street, will pull into the driveway, then back across the street to pull into their driveway.

Since they drive a 1/2 ton truck, and of course the truck in higher off the ground that the car, the Big Guy is reasonably sure, they are probably hitting the branch with their windshield of their truck.

It's those little things that makes the Big Guy smile.

21/Jun/19 1st day of summer and I'm camped under the fan

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So a few weeks ago, the Big Guy was bitchin as the weather wasn't warm enough.

Well now it's warm out.

Not hot just yet, but I'm sure that is coming.

The Big Guy was on Facebook and he seen that a friend of his has posted a temperature warning.  It was going to be 110 F where they live.

That would be way too uncomfortable for me and my fur coat.

It's raining today.  Now, the Big Guy doesn't mind one bit.  The rain is good for the grass, which he cut yesterday.

He also trimmed the front hedge.

He loves his new wagon.  He puts stuff in it and drives to the location that he is going to use it.  But he isn't so good at backing up with the trailer.   Oh well...  what can you do...

I just seen the garbage man run by.  The only things that is left now is the blue bags.  A different truck will be by to get those.

Yesterday the Big Guy went to this place that I've never been to.  It's called a Dentist.  They clean his teeth for him.

I wonder if he would like some of my dental bones.  Then he wouldn't need to see that Dentist any longer.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezie
