28/Feb/19 what about babies born on February 29th

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So, tomorrow is March the 1st.

Do you know anyone that is born on February the 29th?

Honestly, there has got to be a lot of people born on this date.

Since their birth "date" only shows up on the calendar once every 4 years, do they really try to get away with saying they are such and such an age (divided by 4) when the planet Earth has actually gone around the Sun, which is a year.  When they are 40 years old, do they try to get away with saying they are only 10 years old?

Do they celebrate it on February the 28th, or March the 1st?  Is it considered a lie to celebrate when it's not really your birthday according to the calendar?

I know the Big Guy's middle brother, his birthday is July the 5th.  But they used to celebrate his birthday twice a year.  Once on June the 5th, so that he could have a party with all his friends that lived in Halifax/Dartmouth, and then when they would go to the cottage for 2 months, then again, on his REAL birthday.  Where family would come by to celebrate.  His REAL birthday wasn't as exciting though.  He would only get small presents on his REAL birthday.  His bigger presents were given to him when he celebrated with his friends.

The Big Guy's father, my non-furry Pepere, well his birthday was on December the 25th.  But they were lucky to be Catholic.  So they would go to midnight mass (church) on the night of December the 24th, and when they came home, they would find that Santa had been there already.  They would get to open their presents that night.  Then the next day, they would celebrate my non-furry Pepere's birthday.  So he would get presents twice.  Once for Christmas and once for his birthday.  I wonder what it was like for him as a child?  Did they go to mass and open their presents after coming home from mass?  They must have.  Since they were catholic as well.

Funny how we only think of the here and now, and not the past so much.
