Good morning Cape Breton.
Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.
I'm sure that there is a lot of people that are Catholic. For those of you that are and celebrate this time of year, Happy Easter.
There was this huge cathedral in Paris that burnt last week. It was the Notre Dame Cathedral. There is a lot of people that have donate monies towards the restoration of the building.
But there is also a lot of other people, Catholic people, that are saying NOT to donate. But to give their funds towards those that are less fortunate. That the Church has a lot of money and fixing the Cathedral will not cost them very much, in the grand scheme of things.
The Big Guy can see the importance of restoring the Cathedral for historic purposes.
There was other buildings that have been torn down in the name of progress. For example, the Parrish Building that was pretty much in his back yard. This was the same building, where the signal was received that the Titanic was sinking. This was the same building, where the signal was first received in North America, that World War 2 was ending. The people of North Sydney celebrated one day before the remainder of North America knew the war had ended. That building, the Parrish Building, was torn down.
The Big Guy felt that it should have been turned into a museum, vice building a brand new building on the water front for that purpose.
But the building had to go. Now, on the land, there are two houses. One has been sold, the other, sits empty. There are plans to build another 4 houses on the property.
As I'm looking outside, I can see that it's snowing. This isn't the rain that they were talking about.
Oh well, it will rain soon enough.
