31/May/23 where is Summer

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Right now, the Big Guy is bitchin about how cold it is in the morning when we go for our walk.

Yesterday, he asked the Kitchen DOT the temperature outside.

She said it was +2.

So, he put on his jacket.

Off we went.

Well, as we were coming closer to home, he noticed that people were going to school.

No jackets.

It isn't that warm just yet.

But as a kid, he was so full of energy and always running around.

Now, he walks a lot slower.

Tonya had a peanut butter and jam sandwich.

This isn't something that the Big Guy grew up with.

It was just peanut butter sandwiches.

He has tried the peanut butter and jam sandwich.

But it isn't his default sandwich.

People would say, he doesn't know what he's been missing.

Of course, I only needed to stare at Tonya and I got half her sandwich.

I have the power.

30/May/23 pool too high

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya got the grand children a new blow up pool.

I looked at the pool.

I've decided that the sides are too high for me to jump over the sides so that I can get it.

I know at some point, Tonya is going to decide that I NEED to get into the pool.

I have nails.

I can puncture the sides of the pool.

She has money, she can get a new pool.

If it were up to the Big Guy, I would still be using the smaller pool that she got me years ago.

Everyone was talking about how cold it turned yesterday.

Although I'm sure the people that are fighting the wild fires in the Halifax area are happy with the cooler temperatures.

I heard on the news, this past Sunday, people left their homes in order to go to the beach or go do something.  They came home and the roads were blocked off and they were not allowed to go back home.

Nova Scotia just wasn't ready for the extent of the wild fire spreading like it is.

But over the years, they have controlled what parts of the forest that was allowed to burn.

Over the years, we had several hurricanes that has blown down trees.

These trees have become really dry.

Right now, as a preventative measure, we can't have any bon fires in our yards till the end of June.

Guess if the Big Guy wants a fire, it will be done inside, in the fireplace.

29/May/23 hiding

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The grand kids came by yesterday.

Tonya got them a new pool.

It isn't as big as the one she had purchased last year.

Floyd was worried that we wouldn't pay attention when the kids were playing in the pool.

He was also worried that we would add a lot of water.

The water that is coming out of the tap is pretty cold.

The Big Guy was able to flip the snow blower attachment off his garden tractor.

That is done for another year.

He thinks that his snow blower attachment has seen a better time.

He may be asking for a new walk behind snow blower for this year.

It will give him extra steps, that's for sure.

The grand kids got some fruit for their snack.

Of course, they really aren't here for snacks.

They are here to play.

I was able to get most of the fruit Tonya put out for them.

There is a lot of beef brisket left over.

Not sure what the Big Guy is going to be making, but I hope it will be something that can be shared.

Otherwise, I will just have to wait for Tonya to put some on a plate and just stare at her.

I'm sure to get some of her's.

28/May/23 brisket was really good

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I had to wait, but it was worth the wait.

Tonya gave me the left over brisket that she didn't have.

It was really good.

I hope the Big Guy makes another one some day soon.

He was really pleased that it turned out as good as what it did.

Now, he has to clean up his supplies and put everything back away.

They sat around quite a bit yesterday.

The Big Guy has to charge his little speakers that he takes outside.

One of them was beeping a lot.

They thought it was an incoming call or something.

It was just the low power beep that is on the machine.

They also made sure to put some sun screen on as they were sitting outside.

It supposed to be even warmer today.

This means that Summer is coming.

The Big Guy also seen where you need to get some boric acid and it will eliminate wasps from the area around his front and back deck.

He isn't sure where to get that.

Perhaps the hardware store.

He seen something on YouTube and now he wants to make this stuff.

Apparently bees ignore it.

It's likely where the rat poison would be in the store.

27/May/23 chicken fried rice

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday the Big Guy made pork ribs.

Something that I can't have.

I mean, I could.

But then, there would be the trots.

Don't know what the pig is made of, but it's not too good for me.

Today, the Big Guy is going to be smoking a brisket.

He is up early, and will be going to his garage.

He is also going to be very upset at his sister-in-law.

She has her unbuilt gazebo in his garage.

In the way.

He isn't likely going to be very happy about this.

He will be happy when the brisket is all done and served this evening.

He is going to have some left overs.

Unless he thinks of me.

I can have beef.

Same with their bigger bones.

No trottie trotts.

26/May/23 save the pizza crust

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Marcel and Kim have arrived.

Marcel made the mistake of reaching out with his foot to rub my belly.

I motioned to him, he wasn't done.

He rubbed my belly for a long time.

He finally had to move so that I couldn't reach him with my paw.

They also brought this oculus machine.

I didn't try it, but it seems pretty weird.

Not sure why the Big Guy wasn't able to focus his eyes that well inside the machine hood.

Perhaps it's meant to be a bit blurry.

They ended up having their pizza.

I wasn't able to bum any off anyone but Tonya.

She is easy to push over when it comes to sharing her food.

The Big Guy also cooked two chickens.

He boiled the bones and kept the broth.

But then he tossed the chicken bones off the deck.

The sea gulls came around and cleaned it all up.

There was a lot of the skin on the roasted chicken that I could of had.

Today, they are making ribs.

What is the chances I can get some of that?

25/May/23 pizza for supper

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

My non-furry brother and sister are going to be visiting.

Tonya told the Big Guy to make pizza for supper today.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy

I may get to bum some pizza crust off everyone.

You know for sure, I'm going to bug Tonya.

She will likely give me the most crust.

She will also yell at me not to snap her fingers.

If you put the pizza crust in my food bowl, there is no fingers that can be snapped.

I also heard the Big Guy will cook a chicken.

That way, they can have some to snack on.

Like make chicken sandwiches.

Or, he could also make a chicken stew with some tea biscuits.

It's supposed to rain all day today, so baking and cooking it very likely on the agenda.

Me sniffing the air to see what I can NOT get any of will be on my own agenda.

Or... he could make some ribs for tomorrow and make chicken fried rice with the left over chicken.

Since they are pork ribs, not that I can have any of that.

I'm sure he picks meals biased on the stuff I can't have.

The Big Guy could make TWO chickens.

Stuff to pick at, which I know Tonya would share, make a stew AND have chicken fried rice.

I wonder how much of that rice I could get Tonya to share?

I must create a plan.

24/May/23 not looking at you eat

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday the Big Guy came home from a little shopping excursion.

He needed some grey deck paint.

He got that.

He also needed some white paint to cover the bench is father had built.

He didn't get that.

He only wanted a liter.

They only had the bigger 3.78 liter cans.

Which was a lot more than what he needed.

He got a can of white spray paint.

Well, that was a waste of $10.00.

Yes it was white, but didn't cover very well.

He also got this can of tire repair stuff.

His lawn tractor has a messed up front tire.

He watched a video and he isn't so sure he wants to use this product now.

I guess it makes a real mess if you go to replace the tire later on.

But, he thinks if he needs to replace the tire, the tractor will be really old and they will have sold it with the house when ever they sell.

He will be doing this after the gazebo gets out of his garage.

His sister-in-law needed storage space.

He may be bringing her that gazebo soon.

23/May/23 it was a holiday

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday was Victoria Day.

Didn't mean a lot to me.

Didn't mean a lot to people that are retired either.

Except for the bank and any other government place would be closed.

Otherwise, the rest of the world, went to work, like they would any other day of the week.

Business has to turn a profit.

Yesterday, the Big Guy took me for my walk.

Now, I prefer to poop on the grass on side of the sidwalk.

Now, I will also poop on the sidewalk, if there is no grass.

I'm not fussy.

So, as we are out walking, I start to do the walk that the Big Guy knows, is a sure sign, that I'm about to poop.

He is encouraging me to walk.

Not poop.

Eventually I just can't.

I do the hunchback of Blower's Street.

But I'm right at the edge of someone's driveway.

Yesterday they feed me some Kraft Dinner.

It was like sludge.

The Big Guy picked up as much as he could.

I don't think he's going to walk that way for a long time.

22/May/23 hiding from the grandchildren

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday Aurora and little Floyd came for a visit.

They run around.

They don't eat the food that Tonya makes for them.

You would think, I should get the food they don't eat.

But, Tonya has been sending the food home with them.

That's not fair.

I should get to have all the food they don't eat.

But that would have been 2 boxes of Kraft Dinner and about 20 chicken strips.

Tonya was smart and put some in containers for them to have for their own lunches.

It was rather windy yesterday.

Not like hurricane Fiona type winds, but enough to knock over one of the chairs on the back deck.

It also blew around my water bowl that was on the back deck.

I wasn't too happy about that.

The chair, I really couldn't care less.

But my water bowl.

I was devastated.

That was until Tonya filled it back up.

Then I was OK once again.
