Good morning world.
Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Yesterday, I was talking about pictures. Well, one other thing that cell phones can do, is take videos.
Now, I'm not talking about those Tick Tok stuff. Actual movies.
So, lets roll the way back machine 50 years.
You had to get a movie camera. Plus one of these ultra bright lights. That light, had to be plugged in. So you were limited as to how far you could go. If you were outside, you would normally make sure that the sun was behind you to illuminate the subjects.
You would take your movie. Which would last about 5 minutes. Oh, yea, and it's Black and White.
BUT, this time your worried about the light. You would go into a dark room, no lights and you would load the movie film into the camera. Essentially, you would be taking thousands of still pictures, but when run at 24 frames a second, would look like a movie.
Once again, your finished taking the movie. You would remove the movie film from the camera in a dark room. Package it up and it would be sent off. A week later, you would get it.
You would come home. Now, you needed a movie projector and a screen to show it on. Yea, you could have it showing on a blank wall. But having a movie screen was so much better.
One other thing to worry about. The bulbs in the movie projector were super hot. If the movie film got paused, even for a second, it would burn the movie. Wonderful stuff.
Oh yea, and there wasn't any sound
Yup, kids today, they will never know about stuff like that.
