24/Nov/20 why does it rain cats and dogs

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Did you ever wonder where the statement, "It's raining Cats and Dogs" come from?

Google is a wonderful place to get info.

Cats and dogs” may come from the Greek expression cata doxa, which means “contrary to experience or belief.” If it is raining cats and dogs, it is raining unusually or unbelievably hard. “Cats and dogs” may be a perversion of the now obsolete word catadupe. In old English, catadupe meant a cataract or waterfall.

So, now you know...

Why do I bring this up?

The Big Guy got up a little earlier than normal today.  He made motion towards the back door, as if I wanted to go "outside".

Well, "outside" it was pissing down rain.

Yea, we're not going to research where that saying comes from.

Needless to say, I went and found some other place to lay down.  Away from the Big Guy and his big ideas about going "outside".  I will go when there is a break in the rain storm.
