Good morning Cape Breton.
Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.
So there is an old wives tale about wasp's nests. If they are high up off the ground, it will be a "bad" year for snow. If they wasps nests are lower to the ground, there will not be as much snow.
Since we don't have any wasps nest on our property, how are we to know, how high off the ground these wasps nests are?
If we went to the dollar store and purchased some of those fake wasp nest things that is supposed to prevent the wasps from building a nest, if you hung them low to the ground, would other wasps take notice and put there nest close to the ground as well, and then, when it snows a lot, essentially kill them off?
Not sure if you have ever seen a fake wasp nest before.
Here is what I'm talking about. You get them at the dollar store around here.
The Big Guy had some. He didn't notice the lack of wasps that year.
I don't think that wasps are really that dumb.
So they are forecasting for some snow today. Along with some rain. Of course the rain is going to fall after it snows. That's what gets the Big Guy really pissed off. The reason being, the snow is now wet and heavy and plugs up his snow blower.
Yes, those First World Problems... they are real.
