27/Feb/18 I will just keep your spot warm

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

It was so nice to be able to go for a walk last night.  It was not freezing rain.  It wasn't really rain, but I was getting wet.  It wasn't snow either, but snow was accumulating on the ground.  Either way, the Big Guy and Tonya kept walking at a good pace.  The Big Guy was kinda breathing hard.  So I know he is trying to loose more weight.  I don't view him as a runner.  So I will never have to worry about that.  But walking fast, well, that could be his "thing".

Since there was wet snow on the ground, Tonya was really impressed at the size paw prints I was leaving in the snow.  My paws are wider than her foot print in the snow.

Later on, I know that the Big Guy is going to be spreading salt on the deck.  Then doing some light shoveling for the mail man so that he can deliver mail to us.  They mostly deliver bills and flyers.  But at least we are still getting our mail to the door.  Some places, they have whats call a super mail box.  So everyone in the neighborhood has to go to this one area to get their mail.  Then there is several mail boxes, all attached together, where the mail is dropped off.

If your active, like Tonya and the Big Guy, this is fine.  But if your not so active, you may not be able to get to your mail when there is snow on the ground.

When the Big Guy lived in Lower Sackville, they had a super mail box.  But it was located at the end of his driveway.  So it wasn't like he had to go far to get his mail.

They used to live at 24 Lakehead Court in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.  You can see the mail box just to the right of the driveway in this picture.  The Big Guy used to shovel this driveway by hand.  Not that snow blowers weren't invented, just that he didn't have one back then.

Well, it's time for the Word of the Day.  Today's word is:

Metaphrast (noun)
[met-uh-frast]

My sentence:  The Big Guy was a bit winded as he was walking at a metaphrast pace last night during our walk.

Definition:  Someone who translates or changes a literary work from one form to another, for example, from prose to verse.

Sentence: The metaphrast was renowned for adapting novels to film.

Today's Video of the day:  Bernese mountain dog playing

Bye bye fur now.
