Good morning world.
Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Everyone is making recommendations to the Big Guy about getting a generator.
Yes, did loose power for a few days.
Yes, it was annoying.
But, the Big Guy also knows, at some point, they will be moving away from this huge house they live in.
If there was a generator attached to the house, would the prospective buyer be put off by the generator?
That would give the impression, the power grid isn't very stable around these parts.
Here is another thought.
At some point, the Big Guy is going to be replacing his current car.
He is really leaning towards a Battery Electric Vehicle.
Something that those cars can do, is put power back into the house, during a power outage.
Depending on what you are running, it would last over 5 days before you had to go somewhere to recharge the car.
Now, if you are foolish and ran all sorts of electronics and lights and what not, then the battery may last 3 days.
But, Hurricane Fiona, lasted 3 days without power.
This last storm, 2 days, without power.
That storm went through on Tuesday. We are Friday. Look how many people are still without power.
I live inside that circled part of the map.
When you click on each of those dots, it tells you that the power is expected to be on today at 11 am.
Of course, I'm sure everyone hopes that it would be sooner.
Otherwise, the Big Guy wouldn't be able to make the pizza that he is planning to make for supper today.
