30/Sep/20 goodbye September, your as exciting as the drool on the floor

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Do you see that wet spot on the floor?  Yea, that's where my face was laying.  The Big Guy called out to me.  I lifted my head to see what he wanted.  Oh a picture.  So I laid my head back down on the floor.

At the start of September, all the parents were all up in arms about their kids having to go to school.

Well, a month later and it didn't turn out so bad after all.

I can see them saying that it will soon be time for the workers to go back to work again.

That would likely include the Big Guy.

I bet he will miss his Soda Stream.  Man oh man, he LOVES that stuff.  It makes Club Soda.  It's just carbonated water.  If he felt confident that no one would take it from his desk at work, he would take it to work so that he could have Club Soda at work.

Then again, he could also take a bottle to work with him, in his back pack.

But soon enough, Tonya will no longer be at work and she will be working from home once again.

She said that she likes being at work again.  It allows her to have fun with the people at work.

29/Sep/20 doing horizontal deckhead surveys

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya was gone ALL DAY LONG yesterday.

When she finally got home, OMG, I was just so excited to see her.

She is back to that place that she calls "work".

I have to wonder what they do there that is so interesting.  It has to be interesting as she keeps going back there, again and again and again.

Now, the Big Guy, he goes to work, upstairs.  He is pretty quiet for the most part.  So he really doesn't disturb me too much when he comes down stairs for his breaks and lunch.  Since he really doesn't share his lunch, I don't bother with him.

Are you feeling how warm it is outside?

Not like last week.  Tonya and the Big Guy were sure that Summer was done.  Yesterday, it got to +27.  Today, it's going to be +24.  This is like June weather, not almost October weather.

If it wasn't for the fact that Tonya wanted to watch her story that she tapes every day, I'm sure she would have wanted to sit outside.

28/Sep/20 I've got my Halloween bandana on

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday we went for a drive.  Geesh, a long drive at that.

Now, it's also Big Garbage week in Cape Breton.  People put their trash out that they would normally never get to the curb.

This also coincides with people in Cape Breton, driving around rummaging through your garbage.

Now, if they are nice, they will put it back and not just throw it around.

But we got Aurora a wooden high chair.  The back has got to be fixed up.  Right now, it reclines.  The Big Guy may be able to put some epoxy in the mechanism so that it no longer reclines.  He has never heard of a high chair that reclines.

They also got a bed for Aurora.  It is by Disney.  It has all kinds of princesses on it.

They also found this toy, but the Big Guy thinks, it actually is trash.  So it may find itself out to the curb.

Plus, they found 4 x wooden kitchen chairs for Floyd.  The Big Guy was thinking, if Floyd doesn't want them, he would take them.  They often will have house parties and they do seem to run short of chairs.  Even though they have about 6 folding chairs in the basement.

Then the Big Guy got to thinking, why would he actually need them.  Nope, Floyd can decide what he wants with the chairs.

The bad part about driving around like they were, was that the Big Guy was braking really hard when he would see something that would catch his eye.  At one point, I flew off the middle seat of the car and into the foot well.  Of course, Tonya was sure that I hurt my little legs.

I was just more scared at how the front seats came RIGHT AT ME when he was braking.  Honestly, they should have put me in my harness and put the seat belt on for me.

They had originally went for a drive to go to Hank's Farm to get some veggies.  Well, they got there and left, just as quick.  It would seem that everyone else had got the same idea.

27/Sep/20 I'm keeping my eye on you

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Floyd, Mylynne, Colby and Aurora came for a visit yesterday.  I was right about Aurora. She will share.

Tonya gave her some Goldfish Crackers and I still quite close to her.  Well, Aurora held out one of her Goldfish Crackers to me.

I was super gentle and used my tongue to take the little cracker from her little hand.

She was super pleased that I did this.

So she gave me another.

And another.

And another.

I knew it wouldn't last.  She reached out with one, and I was able to lick it and then she ate it.  Like WTF?

But then she dropped a bunch of her hot dogs on the floor.

Goldfish Crackers?  Screw that!  There is hot dogs to eat.

Nom nom nom

26/Sep/20 I'm not even allowed to sniff his supper

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya knew that the Big Guy was coming downstairs from work.  Yea, he works upstairs for the moment.  A lot of humans are finding out that they can work from home now.  Some do it rather well, but other's...  not so much.

Today, we are going to have a visitor.  It is going to be Floyd, Mylynne, Colby and Aurora.

I like it when Aurora visits.  Yes, she does frighten me a bit.  But that's because of her little hands.  They move so quickly and they dart into your face without warning.  She also pulls on my fur.

BUT...

Aurora also drops a lot of her food on the floor.

This is a dogs dream scenario.

I've been leaving a lot of my fur around the house.

Just ask Tonya.  She vacuums the house, at least once a day and the vacuum is FULL of my fur.  She says, for the amount of fur that I drop, that I should be bald.

Anyways, once Aurora drops something, I get to have it as it's pretty much got 5 or 6 of my hairs on what ever has hit the floor.

25/Sep/20 be a pal and get my toy for me

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

To my constant and faithful readers...  WOW!  Did you see that number in the upper left corner of my blog?  It's almost 80,000.  That means that my blog pages have been read that many times.

Yesterday, Tonya left the house without me.

She went to this place called "Ford Dealership".  She said that she needed to get the car "serviced".  She also said that this was to ensure that the warranty work was done.

I thought she was gone ALL day long.

Geesh, I missed her a lot.

To get through the trauma.

I napped.  The Big Guy came down for his breaks.  I didn't pay him any extra attention.  He came down for a break.  Again, I ignored him.

When Tonya came home, I was so excited.  I accidently locked the dead bolt on the door.  I jumped up on the door and rotated the lock closed.  I could hear her yelling on the other side of the door.

She brought home McDonalds!  Horray!

But because of how my bowels have been.  She only gave me 4 fries.  That was it.  OK, I thought I would just wait for the Big Guy to come down stairs and I could possibly stare at him and he might give me some of his fries.

He sat on the couch and he ate his fries, one by one, by one.  So frigging tedious.

Do you know what he did then?  He turned and looked at me.  He could see the drool.  He could see me staring.

He ate a fry and then blew in my face.

He is so lucky that I held back.

That's when he STARED right back at me.

I left and went and laid down.  He got that look in his eyes.  The Big Guy got some pretty big cooking pans and such.

Yea, I lost my nerve.  Those fries were reheated in the microwave.  I bet they didn't even taste that good.

24/Sep/20 that Hurricane Teddy was a lot of hype and didn't deliver

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I know that the news people would have you think that the hurricane that is about to hit YOUR area, is likely the Storm of the Century.

Hurricane Teddy, thankfully, wasn't it.

It was a lot of bluster and yes, there was some rain.  But I've seen more rain fall during a normal Summer storm.

Now, that it not to say that other parts of Nova Scotia and Bermuda didn't fair so well.

Yes, there was a lot of power outages too.

But where I live.  That storm was a dud.

Now, do I think that we "dodged a bullet"?

Aahhhh...  HELL YEA!!

There is going to be other storms.  I do believe, they will deliver what they promised and more.

That amateur weather guy, Frankie MacDonald, you will have to see if there is other storms out there for us to be concerned about.

23/Sep/20 is any of that Storm Pizza for me

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

So, there is this guy.  Frankie McDonald.  He is a amateur weather forecaster.  He gets rather LOUD when he is doing the forecast.  He speaks about getting ready for the storm.  Get your Storm Chips, your Pizza, your Pepsi, your phones and laptops charged up.  He really wants to let you know that things are going to get bad.

So, last night, when the Big Guy came down for his last break of the day, Tonya asked him if they could get a pizza for supper.  Well, the Big Guy has NO problems with getting a Storm Pizza.

Only, I will stare and stare and stare as Tonya eats her Storm Pizza.

I have got to have some of that Pizza.

Then, when Tonya will slowly reach out with some pizza crust that I can have...  well by then, I'm pretty much LOOSING my mind.  There is a small puddle of drool on the floor.

Before Tonya can say anything, I will SNAP it from her fingers.

More than once, I've snapped my teeth on her fingers.

First off, that's YOUR problem for making ME wait so long.  Try learning from YOUR FAIL!

Then, there is the yelling, after I've snapped the pizza crust from Tonya's fingers.  Yea, yea, what ever...  I've got the pizza crust now...  yell if you feel you have to.

I think if she would cut the crust off and give it to me in my dog food bowl, this wouldn't be a problem.  No waiting for me.  No snapping of the fingers.

With the Big Guy there is NO PROBLEM.  I could be starving.  I stare at him and he just stares right back at me.  It makes me nervous when he stares at me like that.  Geesh, it's like he is looking at me like I could fit really nicely on the roterissie on the BBQ that he has on the deck.

When he does that, I just give up and go lay down somewhere out of sight.  Friggin creepy guy, is what he is.

22/Sep/20 isn't my "eye shine" sexy

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Every Spring, we have what is called "Big Garbage".  This is where residence of Cape Breton are allowed to put our their trash that isn't normally taken away by the city, during normal collections week.

Well, this year, it was delayed to this week.

BUT, we also have the remnants of Hurricane Teddy coming to visit us.

So...  people have been told, via the news and via the radio, if you got your "Big Garbage" out, your being told, bring your big garbage back in.

Now, I've rather noticed, people will do what people will do.

People park in the fire lane, even though they are not driving a fire truck.

People will drive drunk, even though it's against the law.

People will steal, because they are too lazy to earn money to get what they want.

So, even though they were supposed to bring their big garbage back in and away from the curb side pick up...

Do you REALLY think they will?

21/Sep/20 this is the little table where the empty plate goes

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, the Big Guy made a stir fry and some ribs.

Now, I can tell you, the ribs smelled AWESOME.  According to Tonya, they tasted great as well.  But I'm not allowed to have any of it.  Pork and I don't get along that well.

Yesterday the Big Guy went out and got a new tank of propane.  I was waiting for him at the back door.  The only thing separating us was that screen door.  I could see him and he could see me.

My breath was steaming up the back window.

Tonya went out on the back deck.

The Big Guy was telling me, to go to the deck and he would meet me there.

BUT I really needed to greet him at the back door.

I was torn.

I wanted to go on the back deck with Tonya, but I also HAD to greet the Big Guy as he was gone, like, FOREVER!

In the end, my desire to be with Tonya won.  I ran to the door that leads out to the deck.

That's when I heard the back door open.  ARGH!  The Big Guy just came in the back door.  I put on the brakes and ran to the back door to greet the Big Guy.

They sure do love to mess with a dogs ability to meet people.

20/Sep/20 at 9:20 today, it will be 20/09/20 09:20:09

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Now, I'm sure Facebook is going to BLOW UP now that I've posted that 20-09 stuff.  Do I think there is any significance to any of this stuff?

Not even a little bit.

So Hurricane Teddy is going to come for a visit.

Now the track is East of Halifax.

So Tonya and the Big Guy had better make sure that they get their propane tank filled today.  Likely everyone else is going to be doing the same.

During Hurricane Juan, the Big Guy went to sea on the ship that he was on.  But they didn't have power for a week.  Of course, they are hoping that the hurricane will stay more towards Halifax.  Not that the Big Guy hates anyone from Halifax, but why would he want to endure this?

He does suspect that they will loose power.  That's just how things goes.  He has come to except that.

Later today, they are going to go visit a friend to get some baby stuff from them.  They had 3 girls and they are looking to move some of the stuff out of his baby barn.  He wants to get his lawn mower in the baby barn.

But as I'm looking outside, there is no clouds in the sky.  Oh well, that will change in the next day or so.

19/Sep/20 do you like hurricanes, cause we will be getting a few

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Today, what is left of Hurricane Sally will be dumping a lot of rain on Newfoundland.  But it will also do what they call a glancing blow to Cape Breton.  So, mostly wind and of course some rain.

Now, there is another hurricane that has everyone's attention.  That one is Hurricane Teddy.

So far, that hurricane is due to track to the West of Halifax.  On the news, everyone is stocking up for what could be several days without power.

What does that mean for Cape Breton?

Not much.  So far, more wind and of course, rain.

For some people around here, it will mean no internet.  Not sure why rain and internet doesn't mix.

So, how does this effect me?

Well, I've got lots of kibble.  So no worries there.  I get water and lots of it.  So again, no worries there.

I've got my fur coat.  So even if it gets cold, I'm ready.

I guess I'm all set for the hurricane to hit just about anywhere.

It's just the humans that seems a bit out of sorts.

18/Sep/20 you woke me up just to take a picture

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I've complained about this before.

The Big Guy will walk around the house.  For the most part, quietly.  He will often sneek up on Tonya, and it's not because he wants to, but he does walk softly for a large man.

But he doesn't fool me.

I hear him, no matter what part of the house he is at.  The floor creaks and I can hear it.

Yesterday, he pretty much YELLED my name.

Of course I was startled.

<click>

He took my picture.

Didn't even give me a treat.  Friggin knob.

I went back to sleep.

I ain't got no time for pictures.

17/Sep/20 my job is to nap and lay in the way

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday Tonya went to get some groceries.  She started coughing and coughing.  As she was looking around, she noticed, the air seemed a lot different.

There is a lot of fires in California.  The smoke from those fires are impacting us on the other side of the North American continent.

The Big Guy had noticed that the air seemed a different color and that something was "off", but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.  Now, he didn't go outside at all yesterday.

What we need is a good rain storm to gather up all those particles that is in the air.  The car will be pretty dirty.  But at least the car can get washed, after the fact.

There is a show that the Big Guy watches.  It's called Big Brother.  Tonya watches it every so often, but she doesn't enjoy it as much as the Big Guy does.  You get a bunch of people, stick them into a house and them pretty much implode.  They cry.  They fight.  All in all, it brings out the worst in themselves.  But, much like the train wreck that it is...  The Big Guy is glued to the TV screen each time it's on, to watch these people.

They also watched this movie, that really interested me.  It was about dogs.  Well, one dog.  He was on a dog sled team.  Of course at the beginning of the movie, he was bad.  But in the end, of course he was the hero.  That's just how movies work.  But if you wanted to watch it, the movie is called: Togo.

16/Sep/20 I heard someone wants to come visit me

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy went to work yesterday and when he got home.  He had his supper.  Which of course, he didn't share.  Not even a little bit.

Anyways...

He was telling me that Brittney wanted to come visit me.

I've seen her before.  She is really nice.  She gives really good pats and belly rubs.  She can visit ANYTIME she wants.

I left one of my toys outside in the grass.

I know that it's only a matter of time before the Big Guy will stop mowing the lawn for the season.  But before he puts the lawn mower away for the season, I had better go find that toy and bring it inside the house.

If I forget it and it stays outside, eventually he will find it with his snow blower.

I'm not sure which one would do more damage.  I'm sure the snow blower would throw that plastic toy further away though.

So I better get it out of the grass and bring it inside today.

15/Sep/20 my job is to be the speed bump in the living room

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Normally, where ever the humans are, I wan't to lay in what ever room they are in.  Especially if Tonya is in that room.

If she moves, I'm instantly up and moving.

If she goes to the kitchen, I will follow her there.

The kitchen is where they keep the food and snacks.

Right now, I'm on a rice diet.

I got the trots from eating stuff that Tonya gave to me.  I really love pasta.  I also love spaghetti sauce.  But spaghetti sauce doesn't agree with my stomach and bowels.  It gives me the "loosie goosie", as Tonya likes to say.

The Big Guy gives her the "evil eyes" when she gives me stuff off her plate.

But that's the rub.  Human food really isn't good for me.

Tonya knows that.

I know that.

But their food has something that kibble and water is missing.

Taste.

14/Sep/20 I would walk 500 miles

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday we went to the Doggy Park.  It's in Sydney.  There was some talk last year about creating a Doggy Park in Sydney Mines.  So far, it's just talk.

But anyways, we get there and I wasn't feeling all that well.  I had the trots.

Someone has been feeding me human food once again.

Three guess who has been feeding me human food.  Two of them don't count.  Yea, it's Tonya.  I just love what ever it is she has on her plate.  I mean, I love what the Big Guy has on his plate, but that's a lost cause.  I could be starving and I would only get kibble and water with him.

We came home and I just wanted to lay down.  So I did...

After supper, for the humans, Tonya made me some rice with chicken stock in it.  Oh the rice was quite nice.  I ate it all up.

Rice is pretty easy on my stomach.  Same with plain yogurt.  But I do prefer vanilla.

This means that Tonya will not be feeding me off her plate for a bit.  That is until I can get her to give me and give me her stuff on her plate once again.

Yes, I will get the trots and yes, she will feel bad and this will be a cycle, never ending.

13/Sep/20 it's been 6 months since humans have worked to erase Covid-19

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Don't let the boat fender fool you.  I'm not a water dog.  Two years ago, we had gone to Bras D'Or Lakes and I found this boat fender up on the beach.  It is a GREAT chew toy.  Virtually indestructible.

That was the same day that I was drinking up a lot of the salt water.

That is also the same day that the Big Guy and Tonya seen that I can poop like it's a fire hose.

Man oh man, the stuff that came out of my arse that day.

The Big Guy was super impressed as it was coming out like it was under compression.

I certainly suffered that day.  Boy...  what a "cleaning" I got that day.

The Big Guy is making some chicken soup today.  You can bet that I'm likely not going to be included with getting some of this.  Of course the Big Guy makes his chicken soup with onions.  I'm not supposed to have anything with onions in it.  Same with the chicken skin.  Although the Big Guy is boiling the bones with the skin, he is going to put it outside for the birds to eat.

Who would have thought...  birds are carnivores.

12/Sep/20 I can hear dogs walking on the sidewalk, across the street

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Humans don't seem to be able to hear things that I can hear.  I'm not sure what their problem is.  I can hear the jingle of their dog tags as they are walking.  If they are not wearing a dog tag, then I can hear the clicking of their nails on the sidewalk.

That is when it's time to announce that I live in this house.

BARK BARK BARK

I will bark more if I feel it's necessary.

You don't even want to get me started if we are sitting on the front deck.

I will run to the hedge and I will strain against my lead to look around the hedge so that I can announce my presence well before you even get close to my property.  So, you might be a block away from my house, it's time to let you know that I can see you.

BARK BARK BARK

I will continue to bark as you are walking closer to my house.

This action seems to annoy the Big Guy.

He says that he is going to get a super soaker and "fix the issue".  I do believe that he thinks that I'm the "issue" that needs fixing.

Now, let someone break in and lets see who gets shit for not barking

You just can't win.
