30/Nov/22 baby it's cold outside

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

My Memere got Tonya a new jacket for her Birthday.

Yesterday, she wanted to try it on and get some pictures taken with it on.

Since the jacket is long, it meant she had to bend over to zip it up.

That put her face at my level.

I only wanted to lick her face.

That's when the yelling started.

Yelling = Excitement

Excitement = MORE yelling

The Big Guy was able to take some pictures so that she could send them to Memere.

Yesterday the Big Guy arranged to get the Flu shot and the Covid booster, both at the same time.

Now that doesn't happen for a few weeks.

He is not allowed to get sick until then.

He wanted to get in a little earlier, but there wasn't any appointments available.

Of course one of the guys from work, he got his flu shot and he had a reaction to it.

So, of course Tonya is very worried that she is going to have a reaction as well.

It's a vicious circle.

Normally the Big Guy never has a reaction.  But, just in case, he booked the day off from work.

He will likely just play is XBox and relax.

They also made ribs yesterday.  Bones, lots and lots of bones.

I wonder if the bones are going into the green bin this time?

29/Nov/22 nap attack

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I will often walk into a room and then plonk myself down on the floor.

I will roll over and nap.

Is it a nap attack?

Sure, why not.

Last night, Tonya and the Big Guy had chicken wings for supper.

The bones are up on the counter.

Today, they are going to have ribs.

More bones up on the counter.

Now, if only the Big Guy would get lazy and put them into his compost hole.

That gives me a chance to pop my collar and go have a feast of bones.

If he was wise, he could bring the Green Bin up from where he got it at the end of the curb.

Before, he had it right off the back deck.

But he moved it to where it's at so that the rats will be away from his house.

At one time, when the green bin was closer to the house, they also had a lot of feral cats.

Tonya had about 17 or so cats that she used to feed.

Then the SPCA felt bad about all the feral cats and neutered all the male cats.

Those cats were keeping the rat population down.

Once the cats were gone, the rats were a problem.

Now, the rats seem to be gone.

The Big Guy doesn't know what is controlling their population.

But he is happy that they are no longer around his home and into his green bin.

28/Nov/22 I am Max the eater of chicken bones

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday the Big Guy made a jambalaya.

It's got shrimp, sausages and...  my personal favorite, chicken.

Tonya said that it was the best jambalaya he has ever made.

I didn't get to have any, but what I did get was the bones.

Yea, I know, I'm not supposed to have chicken bones.

But guess what, I did.

Tonya told the Big Guy to go to the store and to bring me a long for the drive.

Well, earlier, I watched the Big Guy dump the onion skins, the pepper core, the ends of the celery, some eggs shells and most importantly, the chicken bones.

There used to be a tree in the back yard.

It got cut down and was a tree stump.

Eventually the stump rotted.

The Big Guy didn't want the stump there any longer, so he used to put the old charcoal from his BBQ on top of the stump.

Well, one day, the stump simply burnt it self up.

The Big Guy was sitting on the back deck, watching it burn.  There was very little smoke.

But now there is a big hole on the back yard.

He keeps filling it with compost stuff.

I seen him put the chicken bones out.

When he parked the car, and opened the door, I ran right to the hole and started eating the bones.

He called for me to stop.

A lot.

I ignored him and feasted on the bones.

Perhaps next time, he will use the green bin.

27/Nov/22 I don't want to go out in the rain

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

All the snow is gone.

Of course the Big Guy is happy.

But we are not Winter just yet.

I'm sure we will get more snow.

Did you see the Big Guy's food blog?

Normally he would boil hot dogs if he wasn't going outside and doing them on the BBQ.

Which, by the way, he hasn't done in a long time.

He got a text from Tonya and she told him to do them in the oven.

Well, let me tell you, they were amazing.

Today, the Big Guy was thinking of making some sort of Jambalaya.

Tonya got these sausages last week.

The Big Guy is going to be cooking them up so that when Tonya gets home from work today, she will have something really good to eat.

She also bought some shrimp, which he will use.

She also has come chicken breasts, which he is going to use as well.

But do I get any of this?

You know I'm going to beg to get some.

I was able to score a hot dog last night.

26?Nov/22 it's on the ground

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, the Big Guy did some fried chicken.

They have the same spice that A&K uses for their chicken.

He put a little bit too much though.

It was salty.

How do I know that?

Well, as he was frying the chicken, he would take it, and place it on a grate to cool.

He also made fries.

He couldn't wait for Tonya to get home.

As he was getting his chicken, one of the pieces fell to the kitchen floor.

I ran over and grabbed it.

Two things:
  1. It was boneless
  2. It was cool

Three things:
  1. It was boneless
  2. It was cool
  3. It was mine

Four things:
  1. It was boneless
  2. It was cool
  3. It was mine
  4. It was delicious

Yup, it was really good.

I only wished he could have dropped some more.

25/Nov/22 hoping some crumbs will fall

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

When my humans eat, I make sure I'm really close to them.

Especially Tonya.

I want her to know, I'm right there.

When the Big Guy eats, I will get close.

I will drool on him.

I stare.

Then he will stare back.

Eventually I loose my nerve and I will look away.

Yesterday, Tonya made some grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup.

She also had some sliced peperoni that she put in the sandwiches.

Of course, I had to beg really hard, but Tonya gave in and gave me a could bites of her sandwich.

I hardly even tasted the peperoni.

I've heard that they are expecting some big rain tomorrow.

The Big Guy just brought up the weather network.

Well, they are getting some rain, but about 1/2 of what was previously forecasted.

Looks like they are going to have a White Christmas after all.

Myself, I really want snow.

Or at least cold air.

This past Summer, I didn't enjoy the heat.

Sure glad I don't live in Texas where it gets really hot during the Summer.

I'm sure the Big Guy would love it.

Weirdo

24/Nov/22 just relaxing

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya said, no decorations for the Christmas Tree.

At least not yet.

She has a chance to win a new Christmas Tree from work.

She wants to wait to see if she wins that tree first.

But that isn't till Sunday.

So, if she doesn't win, this tree gets decorated.

IF she does win, this tree comes down and that tree goes up in it's place.

Now, dogs...

We don't decorate trees.

Well...

That may not be 100% true.

We do pee on trees.

Is that a decoration?

It's mainly to let other dogs know that we have been there.

Otherwise, it doesn't serve much purpose.

It's not like the tree gets any benefits from the small amount of pee that we do on them.

Well, all this talk of pee...

I gotta go.

23/Nov/22 that isn't dandruff on my back

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Winter has arrived.

At least the snow has.

On the calendar on the wall, it's still a month away.

Tonya has been hinting that the Big Guy should be outside taking the snow off the car before she goes to work.

The Big Guy told her, she could also work from home if she wanted to.

But for her job, there is a real advantage to working at work.  When she needs something, she can walk over and talk directly to her boss.  No waiting.

The Big Guy has also found that he can use Amazon Photos on his firestick that is attached to the TV.

He is anxious for Tonya to make the decision to cut the cable TV cord.

That means she will have to learn how the TV works.

Yet another different remote control.

She doesn't like technology too much.

Some day, when they get their new car, there is going to be a lot of new electronics that will be in that car.  Kinda like a computer on wheels.

The Big Guy is going to love it.

He is pretty sure Tonya isn't going to love it as much as he does.

But that's just him.

Myself, I don't drive the car.

I just want the windows open when we are driving.

I want to sniff the are and bark at other dogs.

22/Nov/22 can't bug him at work

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy has what's called a "resting bitch face".

A lot of people will avoid him because of this.

He is fine with this.

Those that know him, know he can be very funny and friendly.

There was a guy he sailed with on HMCS Huron.

Oh, he had the resting bitch face down to a tee.

But once you would talk to him, he was very friendly.

I don't know what the Big Guy plans for supper today.

Tonya is off before him.

What ever he puts out, she will make.

I wonder if he has a roast beef he could put out?

Yesterday, Tonya gave me some of her turkey pie the Big Guy had made.

I'm telling you, the gravy was out of this world.

Mixed with my kibbles...

Devine...

They carrots, mashed potatoes, they were great.

The turkey was moist.

The pie crust, just so.

Tonya always puts some ketchup on her pie.

That added a little zing.  But this time, she was out of ketchup.

The Big Guy doesn't cook a lot of stuff with ketchup.

So it was just turkey pie and kibbles mixed in.

After I ate my fill, I laid down and digested my meal.

I'm so happy here.

21/Nov/22 isn't that funny

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, Tonya was in the mood to put stuff out for Christmas.

Why does that guy in the red suit always laugh so much?

Yesterday, as the Big Guy was playing his XBox, Tonya told him, she wanted him to make a turkey.

She also wanted a turkey pie.

So, guess what the Big Guy is going to be making later on.

FYI, he already make the turkey.

He already boiled the bones and what not.

He makes a very delicious gravy.

Tonya cut up some of the turkey, she mixed it with broccoli, some mashed potatoes and some of the delicious gravy.

She mixed it in to my kibble.

I completely licked my food dish clean.

When the Big Guy goes down stairs, he has to make some boiled carrots.

He needs extra vegetables for his turkey pie.

After it gets all baked and what not, then, eventually it will have to be transferred to individual servings.

They got all these little bowls to put it in.

Then, Tonya will have several days worth of turkey pie for her lunch.

The Big Guy really likes turkey pie.

Or beef pie.

Or chicken pie.

He isn't too fussy about stuff like that.

PS, I like it too.
