28/Feb/22 can you turn the heat on

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy was watching the news.  He seen that they had this walk for the "Coldest Night of the Year" in Moncton.

I guess it's to support those that are homeless.

I had seen that there was some dogs in the news, walking with their owners.

No big dogs like me.

The Big Guy calls them "rat dogs".

He isn't sure what those dogs do.

They certainly can't pull a wagon.  That is what my breed was meant to do.

These are those tiny little dogs that are meant to hang out in old lady purses and snip at everything.

They wouldn't be any good as a hunting dog.

I don't think those dogs even know how to swim.

The Big Guy bets that their poop gets mistaken for rat droppings.

Those little dogs are always shaking?

I wonder if they are just nervous, or cold?

27/Feb/22 what is this Fat Archie your eating

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Last week, the Big Guy made a batch of raisin cookies.

He has been worried all week that I would get into them.

He had about 6 left and threw them out to the sea gulls.

Yesterday, he made some Fat Archies.  These are molasses cookies.  They are really big.

Honestly, he should have used a smaller cookie cutter.

Hmmm...  Wait, if he used a smaller cookie cutter, that would make for smaller cookies.  Tonya wouldn't share a smaller cookie.

Nope, he made them the perfect size.  Big enough that Tonya will share.

The grand kids came for a visit yesterday.

They really like playing in water.

My food dish is like a small pond for them to play in.

They would take some of my kibble and add it to the water.

I really don't like wet, soggy kibble.

I would hope, next time they come for a visit, empty the bowls and just put them back at the food station.

Then, when the grandkids look, it's just two, rather large, empty plastic bowls to look at.

Bonnie also came for a visit.  She had supper with us.  She knew not to play with my kibble.

26/Feb/22 what are you going to cook today

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya put some stuff in the sink for spaghetti and meat balls.  Some hamburger and some sausages.

I sure hope she doesn't put any onions in it.

Then I might be able to have some.

BUT

I also head that Aurora and Baby Floyd are coming for a visit.

They normally never eat as much food as what Tonya puts on their plate.

There is also the fact, they tend to play with their food once they get bored.

This means, some of their food ends up on the floor.

I will hang out, over by their high chairs and just wait for them to empty their plate on to the floor.

After they eat, Tonya might give them some cookies.

If I time it correctly, the kid will hold their cookie in such a manner, that I can gently take it from their little hand.

Gobble gobble gobble and I'm out of there.

Yes, they are loud and they pull at my fur.

But it's worth getting their food.

After I get their food, I will just go hang out in the mud room, away from them.

25/Feb/22 no pictures please

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

It is supposed to snow today.

The weather people say, 5 to 10 cm of snow.

That will be enough for the Big Guy to take out his snow blower.

Although if it just 5 cm, he will likely look at the weather and see just how much snow the city puts in the driveway.

If it's closer to 10 cm, he will definitely get the machine out.  Then the city puts just a little too much snow at the end of the driveway.

Did you see what the Big Guy had posted on Facebook the other day?

Honestly, he didn't think it would get this much "traction".  Look at the bottom right of the picture.  5900 shares in less than 3 days.

He has also been getting a lot of new friend requests.  He doesn't know these people so he's been ignoring the requests.

He did this as a joke as he thought it was funny.  A lot of comedians will point out the obvious and make a joke about it.  Sort of like, you will go to a coffee shop and pay someone $3.00 for a coffee.  For $9.00, you could get a can of coffee and make over 100 cups of coffee.  That's about $300.00.  What could you do with $300.00.  Each month?  As some people will get more than one coffee a day.

24/Feb/22 already had shark fins

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

As you can see,
Me 1
Shark Toy 0

But this toy has lasted a lot longer than some toys that Tonya has purchased over the years.

I've got my rabbit toy somewhere in the house.

He has lasted longest than any other toy.

Hmmm...  that's isn't really true.

I had a squeaky piggy.

He was doing really good.

That was until I brought it outside.

I was chewing by the side of the deck.

Then it fell through the rungs of the deck and into the long grass that is beside the deck.

The Big Guy had his lawn mower out.  I was barking at him.  He got annoyed at me for barking so much.

Then, it happened.

Piggy went through the lawn mower.

What came out the other side was barely recognizable as Piggy.

The Big Guy hit a tin can once that was hiding in the front lawn grass.  Although, honestly, it wasn't hiding very well, but the Big Guy was just too lazy to get off his lawn tractor to pick up the can.

It was very course steel wool that came out the other side.  That can was absolutely shredded.  You would not have been able to take the can to the recycle center.  He gave it a few more passes and the can was virtually gone.

He did the same thing to Piggy.  He did a few passes over what was left.

Only the squeaker survived.  He did pick that up and put it in the garbage.  Then kept on mowing the lawn, like nothing happened.

He told Tonya about Piggy.

She got me a new one.

I seen it.  It also fell off the deck.

The snow blower got that one.  Piggy 2 is over by the fence.

23/Feb/22 it's raining, again

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Well, it's raining.

Not my favorite weather.

BUT...

It's going to snow on Friday.

I will only have to get that rain on my back for a day or so.

When I get really wet, and I come back in the house, I wait till I get in the kitchen and then shake as hard as I can.

Water flies everywhere.

The Big Guy is planning on making some fried rice with sweet and sour pork today.

I hope that he can make extra rice for me.

He has done that in the past.

He has also put some peas and carrots in his rice.

Plus some soy sauce and some chicken broth.

His rice is super tasty.

Sure is a lot better than just plain old kibble.

I will not be able to have any of the pork though.

Yea...  that stuff goes right through me.

Better just stick with the rice.

Hmmm...  but the sweet and sour sauce.

I wonder if he would mix some of that in with my rice?

There is always hope.

22/Feb/22 I will look at you while you eat

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

How would you feel, if I were to just watch you eat?

Would it encourage you to share what you are eating?

Do you know what the Big Guy was eating?

He was having a soft raisin cookie with a glass of milk.

I'm not supposed to have raisins.

I'm not supposed to have milk either.

I know what happens when I have milk.

I get the trots.

I'm not sure what happens if I were to have raisins.

Google to the rescue.

Raisins are toxic to dogs.

10 to 12 raisins have enough poison in them to kill a 10 to 12 pound dog.

The poison in grapes make a dog's kidney's shut down.

Each one of the cookies that the Big Guy made, has about 15 or so raisins.  I'm a pretty big dog, but one cookie could do me in.

I guess I should be careful over what I'm begging for.

21/Feb/22 come sit with me

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, Tonya was going to go sit on the chaise lounge.

I jumped up on the chair first.

She wasn't able to sit down.

Of course the Big Guy thought this was funny.

He made a batch of soft raisin cookies.

Raisins.

Another item that isn't good for dogs.

I'm sure that I could have ONE cookie.

But the Big Guy told Tonya, I'm not to have any of them.  Not even one little bite.

THEN, worst than not being able to have any of the cookies.

She is giving about 1/2 the batch to her brothers.

She isn't giving any to her older sister, as she is a diabetic.  But I bet if she came for a visit, she would be "into them".

The Big Guy's father was diabetic.  He said that you can have a cookie, as long as you have it with a meal.  The cookie is not the meal.

Personally, I don't really care about who can have what or when.

Why didn't the Big Guy make a cookie that I can have?

Prick.

20/Feb/22 roll over

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Some dogs do tricks.

I don't do tricks.

I don't give a paw.

I don't roll over.

I don't stay.

I will sit if you have a treat for me.

Food, the great motivator.

Talking of food.

The Big Guy made the Chicken Casserole.

No onions.

Guess who got to have some.

Yea...

ME!!

Not a lot though.

If it were up to me, I would have made sure to give me a BIGGER portion.

Oh well, next time.

19/Feb/22 can I play with that stuffed toy

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

We had a Flash Freeze last night.

I'm not sure what that means.

My 4x4 paw drive will be sure to take care of any slippery surfaces.

I've got claws for extra traction.

Last night, after work, Tonya made a store bought frozen pizza.

Of course I stared at her while she ate.

I got some of her crust.

Better than nothing.

The Big Guy has been trying to think about some meals that can be made ahead of time.

He thought about a chicken casserole.

Well...

It's pretty basic.

It's really just chicken pot pie, but there is no crust.

You serve it over a tea biscuit.

Wouldn't that the missing crust?

Humans are weird.

Pfft...  chicken casserole

I would have some if he were to make it though.  Just pour it over my kibble.

18/Feb/22 my shark toy and I are done playing for the moment

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, as the Big Guy was playing his XBox, he noticed that the City had blocked off the road.

Hmmm...  that's weird, he said.

Then, he noticed that he could hear heavy equipment.

The city has placed a lot of snow on the side of the road.

Each snow fall, the street seems to get less wide.

With the Elementary School that is across the street, it is a real hazard for when parents want to drop off their kids.

It turns the street into what was a two way road, into a 1 car path.

Now, if everyone parked on the one side of the street, it wouldn't be an issue.

There is no sidewalk on our side of the street.  But there is across the street.  You would think, it would be safer for the children to be dropped off on the other side.

But, these are the same people that will park in the Fire Lane to run into the store, for just a quick second.

The Big Guy has a word to describe them.

17/Feb/22 it would be nice if you got me a treat

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Last week, the Big Guy made some beef stew.

Tonya decided that she had enough beef stew.

She was going to throw it outside to the Sea Gulls.

Then, she had a thought.

Just feed me.

She warmed it up and mixed it with my kibbles.

Well...

My kibbles never tasted so good.

Today, the Big Guy is supposed to make some Shepard's Pie.

Knowing him, he is going to put onions in it.

Always with the onions.

BUT, if he makes too much mashed potatoes...

This could work out after all.
