22/Aug/22 how much is that doggy in the window

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

A long time ago.  The Big Guy's father had made a fiberglass canoe.

They did this in a town called Lawrencetown.  Or, just outside that town.

Eventually the canoe was painted, wooden pieces were attached and the canoe was moved to the cottage they owned in Cocagne New Brunswick.

The Big Guy used to take the canoe out on the river all the time.

There was one time, the Big Guy would have been a teenager at the time, he got upset about this or that.

Now, the river it about a 1/2 mile wide, just shy of a kilometer.

You can see the old homestead to the bottom right.

The Big Guy took the canoe and rowed out to what would be the left of the picture and put a pole into the mud and then put the bow line over the pole.

For context, the river is for the most part, 4 feet deep, at high tide.  There is a channel, and there, the river is about 8 feet deep.

So, the Big Guy had also brought a book with him.

He sat, in the canoe, reading a book, in the middle of the river.

It was a sunny day.

He was upset about something or other.

What do teenagers get upset about?

Everything and nothing, both at the same time.

Eventually, he thought he had made his point and rowed back to shore.

The Big Guy was really quite good at being in the canoe.

The Big Guy's father, also thought he was really good in the canoe.

But it was the Big Guy's father that tipped the canoe and fell into the water.

The Big Guy never once fell out of the canoe.

Your blast from the past
