30/Nov/21 time for a tug

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

This time, I shared my toy with Tonya and she was willing to play.  She held on to the toy and I would tug.

Not as hard as I would if the Big Guy was holding the toy.

He has a much stronger grip.

If I tug too hard, she will let go.

Last night, the Big Guy made this Mexican Taco Lasagna.

There was this one entire red onion in it.

There was other spices.  So I wasn't allowed to have any of it.

Was I impressed?

Of course not.

I could smell the cheese that was in it.

I so wanted it.

I wonder what the Big Guy is going to make today that I can't have.

He is nice that way. (Heavy on the sarcasm)

He makes stuff.

It smells wonderful and I can't have any.

29/Nov/21 judgement dog is judging you

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday the Big Guy went outside without me.

I could hear the lawn tractor starting a few times.

Turns out, he was removing the lawn mower deck and replacing it with the snow blower attachment.

While was in the garage, he had to move stuff outside.

That is when he noticed a rather large puddle of oil on the garage floor.

He noticed it wasn't under the tractor, but he had parked the tractor over that spot in the past.

Turns out, it was the bar oil for the chair saw.

The chain saw is in the little utility trailer he has.

But it was also on it's side, which is unusual.

The oil simply ran out of the reservoir.  Into the bd of the trailer.  Down the tongue of the trailer and onto the garage floor.

He felt a lot better.

He had been pondering the cost of repairs to his lawn tractor and wasn't really having a pleasant thought about it all.

I was happy to see him once he got back inside the house.

Now, the Big Guy is ready for the snow.

But he still prefers rain.

28/Nov/21 my toy is way over there

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I like sharing my toys with the Big Guy.  He always gives them back to me.

There are times when he will tug on the toy.  I really like that.

I will lay on the floor once I'm done playing tug.

He will give me the toy back.

We don't play rough.

Now, I've got an Uncle.

He likes to pay rough.

He weighs about 125 pounds.

When he plays rough, that's when he finds out, I out weigh him by about 30 to 35 pounds.

I've also, got big paws and teeth.

The Big Guy and Tonya have asked him not to play rough with me.

Does he listen?

When he gets hurt, that's when he listens.

I don't mean to hurt him, but, geesh, he is so fragile.

If only he would listen when he is told not to play rough with me.

27/Nov/21 Tonya is at work

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya leaves the house to go to work.

The Big Guy, he works upstairs.

I am quiet during the day.

Tonya will reach out and ask the Big Guy if I've been outside.

To keep her happy, he will tell her yes.

Meanwhile, I have NOT been outside.

I am laying by the back door.

I am quiet.

I am sleeping.

I have no desire to go outside.

Tonya feels that I want to go outside.

When I want outside, I approach the Big Guy and he asks if I want to go outside.

I do know the word "outside".

When he is getting up, I will run towards the door.

If I just want to nap, I stay put.

Tonya comes home and asks, "Has Max been outside?"

The Big Guy says, oh yea, about 2 or 3 hours ago.

The Big Guy always says, under his breath, if you have to ask if Max has been outside, just say to yourself:  Max has NOT been outside.

You can bet your bottom dollar...  If the Big Guy would put me outside, it would be like emptying the dishwasher.  He is very proud of his accomplishment and will tell anyone who listens.

Better go back to sleeping before Tonya gets up and asks the Big Guy if I've been outside.

26/Nov/21 there is an elf in the house

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, the Big Guy and Tonya took off somewhere and brought home some Fried Chicken.  It's been something that the Big Guy has been wanting for a few months now.

Tonya said, Fried Chicken this week, but Chinese Food next week.

The Big Guy said he had no problems with that.

They also watched these 3 movies with the actor Tim Allen.  The movies were the "Santa Clause" movies.

There was reindeer.

But no dogs.

Why wasn't their dogs?

I found the movies boring.

Pfft...  what's a movie if they don't have a dog in it.

I tried to beg some food from Tonya.

She only gave me a few of her fries.

No chicken at all.

You know who will be having left over chicken today and he doesn't share.

25/Nov/21 one month till Christmas

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy is off work today.

It's Thanksgiving in the United States.

Thanksgiving in the Unites States is a much bigger "thing" than Christmas is.

Christmas tends to be celebrated by people of the Christian Religious Faith.  But pagans have added the gift giving to the extreme.

They say that some dude, who for some reason, lives at the North Pole, has flying reindeer, a sleigh, a huge bag of toys for "good" boys and girls.

Does that mean that Santa Clause is Canadian?

For some reason, the Big Guy, when he was a Little Guy, always thought that Santa Clause, although living at the North Pole, thought that he was from Norway.

But Canada has the most Northern Community in the world.

CFS Alert.

The Big Guy was there for 6 months.

While was there, they had Christmas in July.

The Big Guy had worked in the CANEX, or as they named it, The Trading Post.  People used to call him Capt CANEX while he was there.  But he was supposed to be known as "Trader".

When they sent mail from CFS Alert, there was a stamp that said, Top of the World, next to Santa's Workshop.

Floyd even got a letter from Santa, while the Big Guy was at CFS Alert.  It was hand written.  Floyd was in grade 3 and brought the letter to school to show the non-believing kids that Santa existed.

24/Nov/21 1/2 the tree has lights

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

After the picture was taken yesterday, the Big Guy took the tree apart and they started doing some troubleshooting.

Tonya was able to locate this little box that wasn't plugged in properly.

But thee is one strang of branches where the lights are not on.

Tonya said that she is going to get a small string of clear lights and they will put it on the tree.

Then it will be time to decorate the tree.

That has always been Tonya's job.

Although she does get the Big Guy to help with putting stuff towards the top of the tree.

The tree being in the living room, has added a lot of ambient light when it's dark outside.

Talking of dark.

It's been a rather miserable day yesterday, as far as the weather goes.

We got 117.8 mm of rain yesterday.  That is over 4 1/2 inches of rain.

Rain to snow, if it has been snow that fell.  That would have been 1.178 m of snow.  That would have been close to 4 feet of snow.

Yea, that would have been bad.

Of course the Big Guy is super happy it was rain.

He must have been a duck in a previous life.

23/Nov/21 dinner plate inspector here

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Every so often, the Big Guy will make something that I get some of it as well.

Yesterday, he made chicken fried rice.

He put some cut up string beans in it.  Normally he would put peas and carrots, but he didn't see where they were at, so string beans it is.

Tonya put some of the rice aside for me.

I was checking and there is MORE rice left.

I am hoping that I may be able to mooch some more rice off of her.

We are getting some rain today.  They are forecasting 150 mm.  That's 15 cm.  Or about 6 inches of rain.

That is going to create some flooding today.

Not so much for where I live.

The Big Guy checked this application on his phone and his living room is 79 feet above sea level.

Other people, they are not that far above sea level.

I would imagine we will be seeing a lot of people on the news today and it's not going to be nice.

Of course, the Big Guy is super happy that it isn't snow.  That would be 150 cm of snow.  Or about 4 1/2 feet of snow.

That would take a long time to dig out.

22/Nov/21 can we play with my toy

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I can feel that we are going to be in for some weather.

The Big Guy is making plans to make sure that stuff doesn't get blown around the yard.

There is still some potted plants that are hanging on the front deck.

He is going to empty them and put the pots in the garage.

He said that he also has to tie the BBQ to the deck railing.

He has done that in the past.  So he isn't too worried about the BBQ.

He hasn't put any decorations up outside that he needs to worry about.

Most of the leaves have already blown off the trees for the year.

That is always a concern during hurricane season.

If the trees still have their leaves, they act like sails during a wind event.  But now that the trees have dropped their leaves, it will mostly be dead branches that will have fallen off the trees that will be a concern.

Myself.

I don't have much to do to get prepared for this big wind and rain storm.

I will just hang out on the couch and watch it all happen.

If the power goes out, I will still be warm. I've got my fur coat to keep me warm.

21/Nov/21 is that reindeer I hear outside

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

OK, it wasn't reindeer.

It was just the wind.

I know were got animals that visit the yard in the night.

I do not approve of that at all.

The Big Guy will throw stuff out in the yard.

Or Tonya.

For example, Tonya made chicken yesterday for their supper.

She boned the chicken.

She is going to throw out the carcass today and the sea gulls are going to be all over my backyard.

I know that I'm not allowed to have chicken bones.

But, would it kill them to boil the bones first and then give me the broth so that I could enjoy the chicken too?

Knowing the Big Guy like I do, he would keep the chicken broth for another day.

Oh those humans.

They are a funny lot.

20/Nov/21 my love seat got moved

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The love seat where I will sit from time to time has been moved.

I heard Tonya and the Big Guy talking about this will be where the Christmas Tree is going to go.

There is a bunch of other stuff that still has to go up in the house for the decorations.  Some other items have to go up outside the house too.

Then they will be all decorated for Chriastmas.

I heard Tonya tell the Big Guy that the kids are going to drop by today.

That is always fun for me.

The grandchildren run around.

They will chase after me.

They have stepped on my tail a few times.

Tonya has encouraged me to go hide in the back mud room.

I seem to be safe back there.

I wait until the grand children are in their high chairs.

They can't move then.

They also tend to drop some of their food on the floor.

Once it hits the floor, it's mine.

So, it isn't all bad.

19/Nov/21 the floor is cool

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I know, soon...

It's going to happen...

The back mud room will be closed off at night.

There is no insulation under the floor.

Or is there is, you don't feel it.

There is a radiator in this room, but it is one of the colder rooms in the house.

Especially in the Winter.

But there is also 5 sets of windows in that room.  They are not double pane windows.  When the wind is up, the room temperature drops.

But a lot of houses are like that.

That is why it's a mud room.

The Big Guy seen the weather.  There are flurries in the forecast.  No accumulation.

The Big Guy also put out the laser lights on the front of the house.

That job is done for another year.

He moved the window table upstairs so that the Christmas Tree can go in the living room.

But the tree has to come down from teh attic first.

All jobs that needs to be done.

He just procrastinates a lot.
