31/Jul/23 couldn't have supper

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday the Big Guy made beef stroganoff.

You guessed it.

Both garlic, and onions.

Smelled pretty good too.

He got to use his new favorite pan.

I wonder just how long it will stay non-stick?

But if he takes care of it and doesn't use metal stuff in it, it should last.

It wasn't so unbearably hot yesterday.

The Grand kids came by.

Thankfully they didn't eat everything that was put on their plates.

I got some sausage, bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs and toast.

Yup, biggie breakfast.

No ketchup.

That's what Tonya puts on her stuff.

I don't mind it.

They bought some blue garbage bags from Amazon.

The Big Guy checked out the price and they saved about $2.00.

All that for something they are just going to throw out anyways.

30/Jul/23 nap attack

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I've noticed that Tonya is getting after me for getting close to the new furniture.

So far, I've no desire to get up on it.

It only looks comfortable for a human bum.

Not my stretched out body.

Curling into a little ball, that is a thing of the past.

I prefer to lay out now.

The floor is also much cooler.

What ever eye infection I had, is gone.

They have also stopped with the drops they were putting in my eyes.

I would blink to make sure it was hard for them to put the drops in my eyes.

Then I would shake my head to get any excessive drops away from my face.

I wonder what sort of culinary delights the Big Guy got in store for today.

Will their be onions?

Will their be garlic?

Going to say, oh yea, there will be.

These are his go to spices and add ons.

Would be really nice to get a steak.

Even a hot dog.

BBQ if you please.

29/Jul/23 laying on the cool groud

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Every so often, when I'm outside, I will paw at the ground.

It exposes and cool dirt.

Then, I lay on that colder dirt.

Tonya gets upset as I bring that dirt into the house.

But a dog has to cool off somehow.

I don't much like water.

Although I do love snow.

Which is pretty much frozen water crystals.

The key component, frozen.

The Big Guy's left ankle has been sore for the last few days.

He isn't sure what he would of done to it.

The Big Guy also found out, he can make mixed berry compote.

Not something he realized till yesterday when he was watching YouTube videos.

Although the recipe if fairly easy and makes little mess.

You also have to be able to store it.

He doesn't believe you can make large batches.

Or, if you did, will it freeze well.

I'm pretty sure I could have some of that.

No onions.

No garlic.

Just berries, sugar, water, cornstarch and some lemon juice.

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy got up early.

He had to pee.

He also has a sore ankle.

But he didn't go over on his ankle.

He isn't sure why it's so sore.

It isn't gout.

Or at least he is pretty sure it isn't gout.

He took one of his gout pills and the ankle is still sore.

They had chicken fajitas last night for supper.

I wasn't allowed to have any of it.

Kinda par for the course with that.

Spicy + onions.

You know what he didn't add that he was supposed to...

Garlic

He also made a cherry compote yesterday.

He never made anything like that before.

He was really happy with the results.

He was thinking, there must be other fruit you could do that with.

27/Jul/23 supposed to avoid the furniture

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

So, they got some new furniture yesterday.

I smelled it.

Then bonked it with my nose.

Tonya told me, I'm not to get up on the new furniture.

So far, I'm not impressed with it.

For one, it's too high off the ground for me.

The Big Guy is looking to see what fits where.

In the Winter months when the XMas decorations goes up, will the couch be moved?

Time will tell.

They are still waiting on the new coffee table and end tables.

We will see how that fairs when they arrive.

The Big Guy hasn't figured out the coffee cup situation just yet.

He likes his morning coffee, but isn't sure if it will fit in the cup holders.

They may need to re-think how that is going to work.

Yup, 1st world problems.

They are a thing for these humans.

26/Jul/23 I love air conditioning

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday Tonya had to leave the house several times.

This meant I had to rely on the Big Guy to be let in and out of the cold room.

I could tell that he wasn't impressed.

Tonya said she didn't give me anything to get the trotts.

I think she is not remembering too good.

There is kibbles and water.

Then there is me begging for the food she has.

A little bit of sandwich.

A little bit of potatoes, gravy and veggies.

Some steak.

That is not kibbles.

Sure glad I'm not relying on the Big Guy for variety.

I'm sure he would say, you want variety.

Eat your kibbles from the other side of the bowl.

Going to be another warm day.

Tonya is supposed to stay home today.

I wonder who in her family she will end up driving around anyways.

25/Jul/23 when will the heat go

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I know, soon enough, the Summer will be gone and the cold will be back.

The Big Guy really enjoys the heat.

Not the hot mind you.

He isn't a total idiot.

Now that we got a lot of rain on the weekend, this upcoming weekend, the grass will need to be mowed.

Same with the front hedge.

Now, last year, they got someone else to trim that front hedge.

That person must not use power tools a lot.

They cut the Big Guy's extension.

He must of bought that extension cord when he was still with his first wife.

He babied that extension cord.

Of course he was able to fix it.

Since then, that guy has never been hired to do any yard work.

The Big Guy continues to loose weight so that he can do his own yard work

Including, trimming the front hedge.

I do believe, they will be decorating the outside of the house for Halloween this year.

I guess that is still a few months away though.

Then, followed by Christmas.

Followed by no decorations.

Humans and their decorations.

24/Jul/23 back to the heat

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The rain warnings were lifted yesterday afternoon.

Then it got replaced with heat warnings.

What is up with this weather?

Tonya refused to allow me back into the cold room yesterday.

She said that I needed to be outside for more than just a few minutes.

I did my business and was back up on the front steps with them.

I huffed and puffed going up the stairs.

Tonya made a wonderful chicken and some mashed potatoes.

I couldn't wait.

I kept begging and begging as she was having her supper.

She was sooing me away as she was eating.

I really wanted some mashed potatoes.

The Big Guy has been moaning about getting their new furniture.

He has his computer chair in the living room.

But he will go for a nap.

They do have the chaise lounge in the library.

But he says, it's not very comfortable.

1st world problems.

They are real.

23/Jul/23 rained a lot

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, one of the Big Guy's friends, posted on Facebook, the province of Nova Scotia is under a state of emergency.

They got a lot of rain yesterday.

Some places, over 30 cm of rain.  

That's about 12 inches of rain, in one day.

The rivers and such, just couldn't handle all the rain.

There was a few people that were driving through puddles and what not.

The Big Guy knows, due to his drive train, if the water goes over the hubs of the wheels, he has to get his car serviced.

But it was showing people, just driving though with the water going over the hood of the car.

If their car's engine gets water locked, it's not going to work very well.

Well, actually, it will not work at all.

This is where electric cars would have the advantage.

But they also have limitations.

The drive system, particularly the electrical part, is sealed.

So you can drive your car into big puddles.

But, once you go too deep, the weight of the car will not keep it from floating and the drive wheels will no longer have contact with the road.

I'm pretty smart for a dog.

That's only cause I watch YouTube videos with the Big Guy before Tonya gets up out of bed.

22/Jul/23 but it hot outside

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The deck rails make it look like I'm in jail.

Kinda of how I felt.

I wanted back in the house and in the cold room.

I've been spending a lot of time in that room.

You could say, I'm actually outside of that room for about 3 hours a day.

Tonya feels that isn't healthy for me.

She isn't a dog wearing a fur coat.

They had chicken and potatoes last night for supper.

Tonya was good enough to give me some potatoes.

They sure do see her coming.

She bought a tin pan of wee little potatoes.

Of course they have to be oven roasted.

Why couldn't you just use big potatoes and cut them up into wee potato size?

The Big Guy got a huge number of little tin foil pans in the basement.

Oh well, guess the Big Guy didn't suggest this either.

I bet the Big Guy would of just put the potatoes on the same cookie sheet as the chicken pieces.

Not sure what they are going to have today.

Expecting some big rain today.

Even thunderstorms.

But we will see if they get the thunderstorm.

It was only the one year that they had a lot of thunderstorms.

Ever since that Summer of '07, not a lot of thunderstorms.

At least that's what the Big Guy told me.
