Good morning Cape Breton.
Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.
In the past, the Big Guy has gone to the November 11th ceremonies. This year, he had to give it a miss as his knee wasn't up to standing for any length of time. He did watch a bit of the ceremonies on CBC yesterday. But this was all in Ottawa. They seen that there was literally thousands of people that went to see the ceremonies.
Yesterday, round 3 in the afternoon, the Big Guy was going to make a chicken pot pie for Tonya. She had a hankering for it. Well he wasn't paying attention to what day it was. Tonya was going to go to the store to get some stuff for the pie, but they didn't realize that it was a very special day. When she was on the road, she found a certain lack of people.
When she pulled into the store parking lot, she seen that there was no one there. That's when she realized. No one is working today.
They did have a lot of stuff at home to be able to make the chicken pot pie. Instead of using cut up chicken, they had chicken cutlets. So they made the gravy, peas, carrots and potaotes. Things were going great. That's when Tonya's brother called and distracted Tonya.
So the Big Guy makes the pie crust. Pours everything into the pie crust and puts everything into the oven. Things are going great.
45 minutes later, the oven timer goes off and Tonya tells the Big Guy, not to get up as she would serve supper.
He thought, this was great! That's when it hit him.
There wasn't any chicken in the chicken pot pie. He yelled at Tonya to let her know.
Turns out, it was the best chicken pot pie they had in a while. Very likely it was due to the fact, they haven't had it in such a long time.
When the Big Guy was making up the containers for work, he make sure to add some of the cut up chicken cutlets to the bottom of each tupperware.
Can't win them all.
