31/Jan/23 that table leg is in the way

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Today will be the 1st month that the Big Guy has been following Weight Watchers.

So far, he is down about 25 pounds.

Of course he plans to loose alot more than just that.

On Sunday, when they had the grand children over, they had this Tater Tot Casserole.

It had WAY too many Weight Watcher points.

But he still had it.

Honestly, he should of had a BLT, as it would have been a lot less points.

Then he was drinking on top of that.

But, he knows that this isn't a race.

This is a long haul trip.

He didn't put the weight on over night, it isn't going to come off over night too.

He was just disappointed that he "let himself" go like that so easily.

But he also knows, this will not be the first time.

He expects that he will be doing a road trip or two.

He does LOVE fish and chips.

If possible, he will order the Senior Meal at restaurants.

It's a smaller portion.

Well, perhaps the proper portion.

He just needs to be mindful of what he is putting into his body so that he can continue on his Wellness Journey.

30/Jan/23 need a bigger couch

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Did you see what the temperature is going to be this weekend in Cape Breton?

If you haven't, you may want to go see.

It's going to be cold.

REALLY COLD.

Like -27 next Saturday.

That is like Winnipeg Manitoba cold.

We don't normally get cold weather that is THAT cold here.

That is even before the wind chill.

The Big Guy will be making sure we got oil in the furnace that day.

I don't mind the cold, but that's cause I wear a fur coat all the time.

But that is really cold.

Yesterday the grand kids come by.

They had Tater Tot Casserole.

Because Aurora is such a picky eater and Little Floyd didn't have much of an appetite, guess who got to have a lot of left overs.

Yea, that would be me.

There was cheese, eggs, bacon, sausages, and of course, Tater Tots.

But the Tater Tots were kinda mushy as they were baked with the eggs.

The Big Guy is hoping, next time, no casserole, but perhaps cooked separately.

Crunchy Tater Tots are best.

29/Jan/23 yes, I see you didn't save me any

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I heard that the grand children are going to be coming for a visit today.

Tonya is going to have some sort of biggie breakfast.

Little Floyd will probably enjoy it.

Aurora will probably eat a few items and then want to go play.

It looks like the weather is turning colder this upcoming week.

I guess Winter finally wants to visit.

I don't see any rain in the forecast.

But that doesn't really mean anything.

That could change in a heartbeat.

They say that is the interesting part of living in Canada.

All the different weather that we have.

The Big Guy would be OK with the weather if it was not overly hot, but definitely not cold.

Back when he was in the Navy, they would sail out of Halifax the first few weeks of January.

He missed a lot of Winters that way.

He wasn't upset that he missed Winters.

He was upset that he was away from his family.

But it was always nice to come home again.

28/Jan/23 the sun was rising in the East

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy got a text message yesterday.

He was asked to work from work next week.

They have some sort of program they want him to use.

It will be him and someone else.

He will have to bring his lunch to work.

Yesterday the Big Guy went to Canadian Tire and got himself a new pan.

Tonya had to retire their wok.

It was old and got burnt food on it one day.

He had a gift card and he also had some Canadian Tire points.

By using both, he was able to get his new pan for $1.79.

Then, he made a jambalaya.

Of course he didn't share with me.

I was not very happy with that.

Human food just smells so good.

Then, last night, for their supper, he made donairs.

In the past, he would have had a least two of them.

Now that he is on his wellness journey, he only had the one.

But they have enough donair stuff left, he can have donairs for several days.

Just so many onions...

27/Jan/23 shake that water off my fur

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I don't much appreciate the rain.

Yes, I do enjoy water in my food dish.

But water on my fur?

Nope.

Then again, I don't know any dog that really loves being all wet.

I was in luck last night.

The Big Guy had made some oven fries.

When Tonya seen the portion he was leaving for her, she put some in my food dish.

Apparently, they are going to have donairs for supper.

Can you see my rolling my eyes?

More onions.

What is it with those friggin onions?

The Big Guy got a small bottle of CBD oil a few years ago.

He also has come coconut oil.

He make s salve with both that he rubs on his knee.

Now, it says that it helps.

It does hurt, but his Dr isn't sure it's really doing anything.

The Big Guy says, if his mind thinks it works, then it works.

He has to make another batch.  This one is low and almost gone.

26/Jan/23 waiting at the bottom of the stairs

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, the Big Guy made some shake and bake pork chops.

Yea, on the no no list for me.

He also made some stir fry.  That was on the OK list for me.

Tonya gave me a couple fried veggies.

Not sure what's on the menu for today.

Since there is left over pork chops, likely they are going to have that.

Big thing in the news today.  The rain storm we are due to get.

But, in Ontario, the center of the universe, they got snow yesterday.

To be fair, they did get a lot of snow.

The weather folks are forecasting winds up to 90 kph and about 50 mm of rain.

You do know who is happy about that rain.

Yea, Mister Personality himself.

He is gibbering on and on about not having to shovel it.

That does, however, beg the question.

If we got a mild Winter...

What is going to happen this Summer?

They do have their Air Conditioner, so they will be comfortable at night.

Tonya puts me into that room so that I don't have to suffer with the heat.

But it's not Summer just yet.

We still have to get through Spring.

25/Jan/23 look into my eyes

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I don't know to make the Big Guy stop cooking with onions.

He is thinking about making some sort of stir fry for supper.

But he always used onions in his stir fry.

I wonder what I could do to make him stop that?

He still has to figure out, is it a pork stir fry or a chicken stir fry.

So I've still got time to work on him.

Have you been paying attention to the weather?

Yet another rain storm coming this Thursday.

But for some parts, they are also forecasting freezing rain and heavy snow.

Oh, and don't forger the high winds.

That normally equals power outages.

So, today will be the calm before the storm.

Why is the Big Guy smiling?

Oh, I know why.

It's a rain event.

He doesn't have to shovel rain.

Oh, he is all about the rain.

24/Jan/23 she had pringles

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, the Big Guy made pan fried haddock with oven baked cauliflower and brocolli.

According to Weight Watchers, their supper had zero points.

The Big Guy said it was full for about an hour.

Then, he was hungry again.

That was when Tonya brought out the pringles.

They ate the last of the pringles.

The Big Guy told Tonya, not to get any more.

They are just too much of a temptation for him.

She said, OK.

She will get some baby carrots, or perhaps some radishes.

I just happen to like both of those veggies.

The Big Guy could of had an apple.

Not quite the same as pringles though.

There really isn't anything like a salty snack.

No wonder there is an entire aisle at the grocery store devoted to salty snacks.

But the Big Guy doesn't want to continue being the "BIG" Big Guy.

He would like to just be, taller than me guy.

23/Jan/23 ham bad for me

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Wanna see me have explosive diarrhea?

Give me a ham bone.

There is a lot of fat in a ham.

That's partially why it's so juicy.

Yesterday, Tonya put me outside and I immediately popped my collar and went to the spot where all the food wasted gets dumped.

The Big Guy is still trying to fill that hole where the tree stump used to be.

There is so many lovely bones and stuff.

There is a fox that comes to visit.

The Big Guy was looking at it's tracks it left in the snow.

It doesn't have the appetite that I've got.

The Big Guy has tried putting me into a harness to see if I would pop that.

I was able to slide the harness off faster than the collar.

If they filled that hold with dirt and used the green bin, like they should.

I think I would be leaving the yard in search of other stuff.

BUT, yesterday, Tonya boiled a ham.

She also used that same water to cook the potatoes and carrots.

She put some in the fridge to cool off.

Tonya should really look at this video:

22/Jan/23 I would like some wings

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, the Big Guy called off work.

He spent most of the day hiding under his blanket fort.

He said that he was dealing with a sinus headache.

That was how the cold started for Tonya.

He is feeling better today.

Does he feel like he has gotten over his cold just yet?

Of course he hopes so.

But he is not saying that he is out of the woods just yet.

It's been a few weeks since we have seen the grand children.

That means a few weeks since I've had a bunch of human food left overs dumped into my food dish.

The grand kids have also been known to toss a few items on the floor.

I will dash over and eat it up before it's gets cleaned up and thrown in the trash.

Last night, Tonya took out a ham.

Sigh...

Ham...

I've had a few pieces of ham.

It doesn't agree with me.

Oh, but the taste.

Why does it have to taste so good?
