Good morning Cape Breton. Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home. So yesterday we went for a longer walk than "normal". Will these longer walks be the new "normal" for us? We walked all the way to the bank, deposited a check and then walked back home again, taking a little bit longer route. Not as long as last Saturday's walk, but just shy a few blocks. So just under 2 km. At one point, we were going up this "incline". Tonya said it was a hill. The Big Guy did NOT think it was a hill. It was an "incline" at best. Tonya said that her hips were hurting from the exertion. I just plodded a long. I would stop to sniff stuff and the Big Guy would tug on my collar to move along. Oh and the check... The Big Guy was in a Class Action law suit against Sylvania. They put out a car headlight and charged too much for it. Not sure if you ever remember seeing "Nighthawk" headlights. Well he bought them for his green mini van that they had while living in Cole Harbour. Before you ask, he's never met Sydney Crosby. They had a completely fenced in back yard when they lived in Cole Harbour. I am pretty sure I would have loved living there. They used to go for drives to go see stuff. They used to do winery tours. Not sure that I would be allowed to do that with them. But they used to take Sebastian, so why not me? The weather isn't supposed to be so warm this weekend. It is August, so I think that the hottest part of summer is behind us now. We don't get overly hot here. We live too close to the Atlantic Ocean. That also means it doesn't get overly cold either in the winter. If only we could go for a walk this morning. All the garbage it put out for collection. Oh the smells I could smell. Bye bye for now.
Good morning Cape Breton. Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home. I can see you eating breakfast. Are you going to share some of that toast? We went for a walk all the way down town. The Big Guy tends to haul me in closer when were walking on Commercial St. But that's because there is a lot of people there. Now, were not talking like New York City amount of people. Just where I'm such a big dog, I tend to scare people that are not ready to see me. On yesterday's walk, I was only patted by 2 other people. There was a different couple and they looked at me, but didn't pat me. She seemed kinda scared of me. A lot of people are saying that I got sick cause of the ham bone that Tonya gave me to chew on. The Big Guy seen the bone on the back deck and he threw it in the driveway. Then a seagull came by and tried to have it. But he dropped it on the road in front of my house. Then a car came along and run the bone over. Then a few more came by and the bone is crushed into the ground. There is only bits and pieces left of the bone. Yesterday Tonya was waiting for me to poop while we were out on our walk. But no poops. I am still "recovering" from being sick on Monday. I will have a GIANT poop ready for her later on. The Big Guy has been good to his word and hasn't fed me anything but kibble. Tonya's been almost crying as she WANTS to give me some table scraps, but says that she doesn't want to make me sick again. I'm sure she will give in soon enough. We will see if that makes me sick or not. Bye bye for now.
Good morning Cape Breton. Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home. I'm feeling 100% better again! My fur is all clean again. Yesterday I had phlegm, barf and poo on my fur. The Big Guy took me up to the shower and cleaned me off. I wasn't too motivated to get into the shower, but he was pretty determined and picked me up under my chest and walked me into the tub.
I think what I hate the most about taking a shower is that the tub is so darn slippery. I fell a couple times and the Big Guy would just talk to me in his gentle voice. So I wasn't scared. I can remember going on a walk one day and there was some ladies that also own a Bernese Mountain Dog named "Max". One of the ladies asked how they kept my white fur so white. I'm sure it's the good kibble that they feed me, but also, when I was in the shower, the Big Guy used Blue Dawn Dish washing soap on my white fur. He used the regular dog shampoo on my black and brown fur. But on last night's walk, I did two poos. Tonya was so happy that I was pooping regular poops again. The Big Guy finds it kinda funny that I always try to face East when I'm pooping. I know I've faced other directions too. But they are good enough to stand guard while I'm pooping. I try to stand guard for them when I see them pooping. But they don't seem to appreciate it too much when I'm in the bathroom with them when they are pooping. Humans are a funny lot. I got stopped twice on my walk last night by younger children. Children = Small Humans. They grab at my fur. But that's OK, they don't hurt when they do that. Their hands are so small. When I lick them, they try to move away, but I'm pretty determined to clean their faces. Some times they got sugar or other stuff on their face. Yummy!
One parent that stopped me thought that I was a St Bernard. They are mostly white with brown and black patches. I'm mostly black with definition and character lines. Someone else thought I was a Newfoundland dog. Nope, they are bigger than me and are all black/brown fur.
The Big Guy did my July video collection. I hope you enjoyed it. Oh and before I sign off... my non-furry Memere is feeling 100% better as well. Turns out he had a reaction to one of the pills that the Doctor prescribed her. She is home again and called the Big Guy last night to let him know about her adventure. Bye bye for now.
Good morning Cape Breton. Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home. Yesterday and the day previous, I was coughing a lot. Then yesterday I had a BIG accident in my kennel. I pooed and I barfed in the kennel. I was what you would call, "a mess". The Big Guy took me upstairs and brought me to the shower. I don't mind the water so much, but that damn tub is so slippery. He had to wash my paws so that my white fur would show again. My paws were full of barf and poo. While I was in the shower, he kept telling me what a good boy I was. He washed my white fur with the blue Dawn Dish soap. It really seems to bring that white fur out. He had to wash under my mouth too. He was pretty good about washing me, as he didn't get any water in my eyes or on my head. Then he eventually let me out of the shower. I made sure to shake on the way downstairs. Tonya had to bring my kennel outside and use the garden hose to clean it. Then the Big Guy went around the house with this stuff called febreze. Anyways, it made the house smell good. Tonya said, no more human food for me. Afterwards, she made herself and the Big Guy an omlete. She was going to give me some, but then the Big Guy spoke up and said, NO HUMAN FOOD. So she put her left overs in a container and put it in the fridge. I had a lot of fur clumped up in my barf. I guess I am going to be groomed a lot more. They have already removed a lot of my fur to start with. Then, as were just about done cleaning up, they get a phone call. It's about my non-furry memere. I guess she isn't doing so well either. Her neck was sore. That could mean a heart attack. But I guess they are taking care of her in the hospital. The Big Guy hopes to get good news later on. Bye bye for now.
