8/Jun/20 yes my tongue has always been this large

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

You will never guess that Tonya got for the Big Guy for Father's Day.

Another gadget.

She is always getting on about how many gadgets he has.

He has so many things for Cooking, Baking, BBQing, Grilling, Smoking...  Now, he's got a second turkey fryer.

Yup, he's got an indoor turkey fryer.  Which he really likes.  Cooks a turkey in less than an hour.

But this second turkey fryer, well, it's for the out doors.

He really isn't likely going to be cooking a turkey outside though.  He would, but he very likely isn't going to.

No, this turkey fryer is going to be for a lobster boil they plan on having.

Right now, the price of lobster is below the price of hamburger, per pound.

The Big Guy isn't a big lobster person.  Now, if you really wanted to let him enjoy lobster.  Buy it in a can.  That way, he doesn't have to fight for it.

But they will be rolling the green bin into the back yard.  They will shuck all the lobster that they don't eat and put that into individual bags.  Then they can freeze it when they get home and what not.  But then the green bin is going to go right to the curb.  Lord knows, it's going to smell something fierce.

Fun fact about lobster.  At one point, if you went to school with a lobster sandwich, it was cause you were poor.

Another fun fact about lobster.  They used to grind up lobsters and use it as filler to pave the roads with.

The Big Guy is going to have a steak.  I wonder if it's going to be a BIG steak?  Will I get to have the bone?

7/Jun/20 am I not the picture of happiness

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

As the Big Guy was making his coffee this morning, Tonya calls to him from upstairs and asks him to put some bacon out to thaw.

Well isn't that great.  Tonya is going to be making some bacon.  Lovely bacon.

Bacon that gives me the trots.

Now, from what I heard, their previous dog.  He got bacon and it didn't bother him at all.  They could have poured bacon grease over his kibbles and again, it wouldn't bother him in the least.

Myself, if I would have a 1/2 sclice of bacon...  it would...  well lets just say, it wouldn't be pleasant.

As I'm laying at the back door, it's quiet in the house.

It must be really foggy in the harbour.

I can hear the fog horn.

I have to wonder.  Do fishermen really need the light house and the fog horns?  Now they got GPS on their boats.

But it does sound nice.

About once a minute.

You can hear the fog horn.

All is well.  We can rest.  The fishermen will be safe.

The fog horn sounded again.

... and again

6/Jun/20 what is that bird picking at in the lawn

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I figure it's got to be pretty tough to be a bird.

Don't get me wrong, flying though the air has got to be nice.

But your food isn't in the air.

Something that the Big Guy has been meaning to do, is build a bat box on the side of his house.  There is a spot where the sun never hits.  It's just outside the back mud room.

Not sure how many bats it would take to get all the mosquitoes though.

I'm not sure what purpose mosquitoes have, other than being bat food.

Same with wasps, or hornets.  What real purpose do they have, other than stinging people and killing bees.

It isn't like I've ever personally seen a bird catching a wasp and eating it.

So the dandelions have pretty much run their course.  So I'm not sure what excuse the Big Guy is using not to be out mowing the grass.  Other than the grass not being long enought to cut.

Oh, do you remember the peonies that Tonya was trying to grow on the side of the hill, next to the driveway, that the Big Guy ran over with his lawn mower?  Yea, well they haven't come back.  I figure, once you cut the tops off, they are done for the season.

You can bet, someone isn't impressed.

She fees me a lot, so she can be as upset with him as she likes.

5/Jun/20 how much is that doggie in the window

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, it didn't look like it was going to be a "nice day out", but in the end, it most certainly was.

Although the Big Guy thought it cooled off a little quick in the back of the house.  Tonya was going to get him to make some BBQ steak. Instead, he stayed inside and made the steak on the cast iron skillet.

They also had some corn on the cob.  Now, the Big Guy got this gadget that you put the corn cob in and it takes the corn niblets right off the cob.

Of course, I did my best to stare at Tonya, but they at at the dining room table.  So the angle was all wrong for me.  I was off to the side, instead of looking at her direct on like when she eats in her chair in the living room.

Tonya and the Big Guy went shopping at Giant Tiger yesterday in Sydney.  Man oh man, the people there don't really know what social distancing is all about.  They got arrows on the floor and a lot of people just weren't paying attention to them.

But like the BIg Guy says...  what can you do...  you just go with the flow and hope for the best.

Tonya and the Big Guy sat out on the front deck, but I found it way to hot to sit out there.  I wanted back in the house where I could just lay at the back door where the floor is colder on my belly.

Of all the stuff they got from Giant Tiger, I didn't get any doggie treats.  No toys.  Nothing.

I should have gone with them and I am sure I would have got something for being in the car.
