8/Mar/20 I'm watching National Geographic on TV

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

In days before the flat screen TV, they had what was called a Cathode Ray.  This was a big glass bulb with a coating on it.  There was what they called "guns" at the back and they would "fire" an image at the front of this big glass bulb.  It was done about 30 odd times a second.  It would fill in each other line.  Then on the second pass, it would fill in the other half.  Back and forth, over and over.

Now the human eye would interpret this as a moving picture across the screen.  This was done with three guns that would again, be projected on the front on the glass bulb.  Blue, Yellow and Red.  This would make up all the colors.

Now, the flat screens, they have different technology.  Typically, either LED or Plasma.  But the colors and brightness of the screens are so much better than what they had in the past.

Now the picture refreshes so fast, that dogs don't notice any flicker on the screen.

In the past, TV was boring to dogs.  We didn't really watch TV as we would look towards where the sound was being generated.  Think of looking at a bright flashing light that makes noise.  It would get annoying looking at the flashing light.

Now, the TV display is smooth and is no longer flashing.  The TV sets now, refresh at 60 cycles or more.  Faster than what a dog can see across the screen.  Now, we see a picture along with the sounds.

So, now, we can enjoy TV along side our humans.

7/Mar/20 here is a picture of me in the dark

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

So, do you know what a picture looks like, when the flash doesn't go off.

Yup, it's mostly dark.

I am in the center of the frame.

I'm sure if we were watching some CSI program, there would be some computer nerd that would take the picture and enhance it.  They would be looking at the Ultra Red and Ultra Violet spectrum on the photo. After they would be done their magic, there I would be, in the picture.

Since the Big Guy didn't do all that, he just took another picture.  But that will be used for tomorrow.

The Big Guy came home early yesterday.  He had some sort of pink eye thing going on.  He says his eye is a lot better today.

They used the same medicine that they had used on me when I was having issues with my eyes.  This stuff it for pink eye and has some sort of antibiotic in it.  It also expired in 2017.

Tonya says, they will be getting him some new stuff today.

But when the Big Guy came home, he pulled the blinds down and watched some Monty Python program on Netflix.  Obviously not something that Tonya would have watched.  He fell asleep and later on, he woke up and had big goops some something or other in his eye.  Hopefully that was the sickness leaving his eye.  Like snot that you would blow out of your nose when your sick.

Humans are so gross.

6/Mar/20 you throw my treats outside to the sea gulls

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The last week or so, I've been licking at my paws.

This normally means that I'm allergic to something or other.

So, a few weeks ago, the Big Guy had made me some dog treats from the baby food that Aurora wasn't eating.

Turns out, that the container that my treats go into, it seals rather nicely.

So much so, that it started to grow mold on the treats.

All the treats at the bottom of the jar were full of hairy mold.  Which was percolating to the top treats.  Each treat I was given, was making me more and more sick.

Tonya threw out all the treats to the birds.  Let them get sick.

Then she washed out the treat jar with really hot and soapy water.

She got me some new milk bone doggy treats.

In the future, when the Big Guy makes me some dog treats.  They will NOT be put into this jar.  They will just sit out, where they can stay dry.  No more mold in my dog treats.

My paws should stop itching in a few days.

5/Mar/20 the door doesn't open by itself you know

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I was outside, minding my own business.

I could hear the camera taking pictures.

Yes, my hearing is THAT good.

The Big Guy always follows me around with that damn camera of his.  To say that there is a few pictures of me...  well that would be a lie.  I think the other day, Tonya said that there is over 1600 pictures of me in this blog.

There is a new season of Big Brother Canada that started last night.  Of course the Big Guy will be watching that.  He rather enjoys the train wreck.  But he doesn't enjoy the hostess that is on that show.  When she speaks, he hits the fast forward button on his remote control.

Now, he doesn't mine the hostess from Big Brother that is in the USA.

It's also been confirmed.  The huge storm that we were supposed to get this weekend.  It's staying to sea.  The Big Guy is doing his little happy dance of joy.

We did get a lot of rain yesterday.  It did melt the snow banks down a bit.  BUT they are not all gone just yet.  That will take a long time for them to all melt.

I know that the Big Guy is also itching to shine up his car with his new Turtle Wax Ceramic wax that he purchased.  He will also vaccum out the inside of the car.  He will also take the time to wash the inside of the car too.  He will do that several times a year.  Once he is all done, the car gets dirty again.  But for the short time that it is clean, the car does look really nice.
