12/Nov/19 it is dark outside, early in the evening now

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

So the Big Guy isn't feeling all that well.  He has sinus drip and that is giving him a sore throat.  He has tried to gargle with salt water and is taking decongestants.  That helps a little bit.  He is hoping that what ever it is he has, will pass quickly.

Tonya was also in the market for a Fisher Price Cassette player for when Aurora gets older.  She has a number of Sharon Lois and Bran cassettes in the attic.  These cassettes were from when Floyd was a baby.

Some one from Halifax sold theirs to Tonya.  So Tonya got a cousin in Halifax to pick it up.  Then, she found someone driving from Halifax to North Sydney.  So, Tonya and the Big Guy went and picked up the cassette player.  Well the batteries were the original ones from the package.  Tonya thought the cassette player was broken.

Nope.

Turns out the original batteries were just worn out.

The Big Guy told her, she will have to get new batteries and the cassette player will work just fine.

The batteries just don't last forever.

They are also, not rechargeable batteries.  Getting rechargeable C Cell batteries are not that common a size to get.

11/Nov/19 Remembrance Day - Lest we forget

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada

If I were in the Navy, I would be doing a Vertical Deckhead Survey.  Another words, sleeping.  The Big Guy says that he misses the camaraderie of his fellow sailors.

Of course, being away from home, that was just part of the job.  Going to all the foreign ports and the foreign countries, that was also part of the job.  It was tough on the people that he had to leave behind as he would go off to do his job.

He did six months as a peacekeeper.  He did 3 NATO tours.  He did six months in Alert.  Then there was also the countless times that he just "went to sea".

He says that he would do it all over again.  Even the shitty jobs.

But if he were to go away like that, who would take me for walks?

I guess that is what they mean, by it also being hard on those that get left behind.

But then, there was also the ultimate sacrifice that people have made.  They signed a blank check and gave it to the Government of Canada, which they signed with their life.

If it wasn't for those brave souls, we wouldn't have the freedom that we so cherish now.

A moment of silence for those fallen heroes.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
      In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
      In Flanders fields.

10/Nov/19 seat cover, your doing it wrong

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy has a pretty novel idea about the seat covers that Tonya likes to put on the couch.  When you sit on them, the cover slouches down.  BUT, if you lift the seat cover way up so that it only covers the back of the couch, it no longer slouches down, like you see in the picture above.

The Big Guy also says, their next set of furniture, will be leather, like they used to have.

The Big Guy also thinks, it's time to put his gloves on.  When they have to drive home after work, his hands are pretty cold on the steering wheel.

They don't need to be cold, he just needs to put gloves on.

The Big Guy is going to be making some corned beef hash for his breakfast this morning.  I don't get to have ANY of it because there is onions in it.

Look, we both know why you do that.  I know that I'm not supposed to have onions, let along human food.

We both know, I would starve if I had to eat off the Big Guy's plate.

But doing stuff so that I can't get anything off of Tonya's plate.

That's just wrong.

A dog needs to have different food.  Diarrhea is something that I'm willing to have in order to have more human food.

9/Nov/19 you can sit in the other wing chair

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I heard that my non-furry Memere was out playing in the snow.  Well, I guess not exactly playing.  She was brushing the snow off her car.  But still any day in the snow would be great.

So far, only rain in the forecast for Cape Breton.

Of course, this pleases the Big Guy to no end.

He would rather live in a place where they have NEVER even seen snow before.  Yup, he is just plain weird.  I couldn't understand how a place wouldn't have snow.

I got a visit from my non-furry Uncle Terry yesterday.  He was dropping off a bunch of diapers for Aurora.  His arms were really full.

He told me to get down while he was bringing stuff in.

Although these diapers are for when she gets a little older.  But it was really nice of him to think about Aurora like that.

If it were to try to rain right now.  It would be falling as snow as it is -1 C right now.  I love it like that.  This is the weather that my fur is designed for.  I don't feel the cold at all at that temperature.
