4/Jun/18 take more picture from my better side

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I didn't realize this, but if you were to look though a lot of my pictures, I am hardly ever photographed from this side.  It seems that when the picture is taken, it's of my left side.

Yesterday, the Big Guy and Tonya left me home as they went to Margaree without me.  They were gone about 4 hours.  So I know that they stopped for lunch somewhere.  They didn't even bring me back a bone, as a treat for being so good while they were out.

Although we did go for a walk.  BUT, the Big Guy put on his winter jacket for the walk.  It was VERY windy and very cold due to the wind chill.  They are not sure what's happening with Global Warming, but I can tell you, it certainly doesn't effect Cape Breton Island in the least.

Now, for some sad news...

Yesterday, due to the high winds, the birds were not able to fly like they normally would.

As the Big Guy was driving to Margaree.  A small bird, didn't realize just how big a Ford Flex is.  Well it smashed in to the wind shied of the Big Guy's car and pretty much blew up.  Tonya was quite upset.

Now, the Big Guy was sort of happy.  Not happy that the bird wasn't alive, but happy that the bird didn't break his windshield.

The Big Guy was also happy that Tonya didn't get upset with him for killing the bird.

Many years ago, Tonya was VERY upset with the Big Guy.  They were on the Cabot Trail, driving a long, when the Big Guy ran over a little chipmunk.  Now, you have to remember, there are parts of the Cabot Trail that the road isn't very wide.  There are deep ditches and then opposing traffic.

Running over the chipmunk wasn't exactly intentional on the Big Guy's part.  But when he looked in his rear view mirror and smiled.  That is what pissed off Tonya so much.

Now, to give you a little back story about running little furry creatures over.  In the Prairies there are gophers.  Now, gophers make holes in the ground.  Cattle and horses are not exactly the most intelligent creatures that God has ever made.  Well, they will run around their fields.  But then, WHAM, their leg goes in a gopher hole and they break a leg.  So farmers in the Prairies will do a lot to get rid of the gophers.  Most people that live in the Prairies will swerve to run down a gopher.  It's what they do.  Now, gophers can be curious.  They will run across the highways.  So when a driver sees a gopher running across the highway, they will toot their horn to get the gopher's attention.  The gopher will stand upright to see what the noise was.  Then, WHAM, the gopher is run down.

I know, not a very nice story.

But tell me, when is the last time you let a mosquito suck the blood out of your arm.  Or did you swat it and kill it?

The Big Guy feels that is the only saving grace about the cold weather.  No mosquitoes.  Yet...

3/Jun/18 what are those birds eating

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I've got my eye on these birds that keep coming into my yard for a free meal.  Tonya keeps filling up the bird seed into this tube.  Then the birds come for a visit and throw the bird seed all over the ground.

Why can't they just take a few seeds into their beak and eat them?  NO...  they create such a mess.

Last week, Tonya decided that she was going to put out a new suet feeder for the birds.  She hung it off the back deck railing, where I can't get at it.  Well those nasty little flying freaks pooped all over EVERYTHING.

Those ungrateful little friggers.  You think that they would have fed on the suet and then flew away to go poop on the neighbors car that the Big Guy doesn't like too much.  He calls it a "fart can car".  I just know it to be noisy for such a small machine.

I think the Big Guy has a plan to move the suet to the tree in the front yard.

The Big Guy is talking about doing this small "road trip" to go to Margaree today.  They are doing this Chase The Ace thingy.  You don't need to be there to win.  You just need to purchase the tickets and leave.  If your name is drawn, they will draw the card for you in your absence.  Since it's about a 2 hour drive to get there, the Big Guy thinks it's worth the 4 hour round trip drive since the draw is up to $400,000.00.  BUT, I bet he's going to go without me.  Grrr...

I like drives too ya know...

The Big Guy said that he has to give a shout out to Sarah Preston on Quora.  She is a friend to Jack Jero that I was talking about yesterday.  Quora is this web site where you can ask a question and then, people that either have experience with the question, or knowledge about the question, or may even think they have the answer, will reply to your question.  I've been mentioned there a few times.

For example, someone asked the question:

What dog breeds have the cutest puppies?

The Big Guy replied to the question:  https://www.quora.com/What-dog-breeds-have-the-cutest-puppies

Now, you may need to scroll a bit to find his reply, but it's in there.

2/Jun/18 I got my paws facing opposite each other

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Yesterday the Big Guy went to the grocery store and he purchased this thing called a Beef Tenderloin.  I never seen such a large chunk of beef before.

Of course the package was full of blood.  Now I have a super sensitive nose.  That smell got my sniffer working over time.  But do you know what he did with all that blood?  He washed it all down the sink.

Then, he took one of his larger knives and he started cutting it up into pieces.  2 of the steaks, he put into a mixing bowl.  The other steaks, he put into zip lock bags and tried to get all the air out of the bags.  When he was done with the bags, he took them and put them in the freezer.

The two other steaks, he seasoned them up and then took them outside.

I could smell them on the BBQ from inside the house.  After about 15 minutes, he brought them back in.  Well, then they ate them.

Of course I bugged and bugged Tonya.  She finally gave me some.

I can tell you this.  I can see why they call it beef tenderloin.  There was nothing tough about that steak.

But the Big Guy could see that I tend to gulp down the steak and didn't take time to appreciate it.  He only did this eye roll thing that he does when he isn't all that impressed.

Yesterday was Friday.  Garbage day.  But the Big Guy didn't have to go to work right away.  So he only walked me AFTER the garbage was all collected.  So that was a bust for me.  I didn't get to sniff anyone's garbage.

It's supposed to rain all day today.  This means no sitting outside this evening.  Like you see them doing in the video below.

1/Jun/18 do us a favor and give us the remote

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

First off, the Big Guy told me to say hello to some fella named Jack Jero from Quora.  Apparently he is some sort of gorilla - cat hybrid.

Yesterday, I was a bad doggie.  I heard the jingle of a dog collar from outside.  I jumped up and looked out the front window.  Sure enough, there is someone walking their dog across the street.

Of course I needed to let the other doggie know that I live here.  So I started barking.  Not that quiet bark either.  But my very LOUDEST bark that I have.

But I was also banging on the window with my paws and my snout.

Tonya tried to get my attention, but I didn't want anything to do with that.  I kept on barking at the doggie that was across the street.

That's when it happened.

Without warning, I'm being wrapped up in a blanket.

Like...  WTF...  I can't see!  (of course I couldn't see, I was wrapped up in a blanket)

So I escaped out of the blanket in double quick time and went back to the window to continue my barking.

Tonya tried to get me out of the window and that's when it happened. I temporarily lost my mind and I went after her.

I didn't bite her, but I sure scared her.  I guess she thought about finding me a new forever home.

So later on in the day, when the Big Guy got home, we went for a walk.  Not a long walk as he didn't have his gloves on.  When I have my chain leash on, he normally will wear a pair of work gloves to protect this hands from the chain.

After we got home, Tonya forgot about my desire to eat toilet paper.  She left the bathroom door open and I seen the opportunity to feast on the new roll of toilet paper.  I didn't hear the Big Guy sneaking up behind me.  Well he grabbed me by my fur to haul me out of the bathroom.

I can tell you this, I didn't like that very much.  But it was his yelling.  Man oh man, I was some scared.  I got to spend some time outside.  I wasn't much in the mood to come inside either.

Geesh, it's only toilet paper and I see what you do with it.
