8/May/19 (sniff sniff) is that poop on the bottom of my paws

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Apparently the repair people are going to be in tomorrow to see if they can't fix the washer.  Tonya's appointment is all day long.

That's the same with when you get a cable appointment.  You have to be available, pretty much, all day long.  They can't guarantee when they will arrive.

So, yesterday's weather was quite nice.  The Big Guy was telling me, in the morning, the car's heater was on.  But then, around noon, the A/C came on.  This is that weird time of the year where the weather is in transition.

The Big Guy, Tonya, Floyd and Mylynne went to Sydney to the "UC Baby" place.  This is what they saw.

Floyd was rather pleased.

It's a girl.

Her name is going to be: Aurora.

They are not sure on a second name just yet.

The Big Guy looks as this child as being 9 of 9.  He often thinks he is funny as hell.

The Baby still has another 15 weeks to grow.  So right now, baby Aurora is only starting to look like a baby.  She has a lot of growing to do.

Tonya was fascinated by this.  Obviously, when she was carrying her baby, they didn't have this technology.

7/May/19 I will just stay out of the way while you do stuff

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Yesterday the Big Guy needed to bust out this wall that is upstairs.

I wanted to help, but I was pretty much pushed aside and told to keep getting out of the way.  I'm sure he could have been a lot nicer about that.  I'm curious and wanted to see what he was up to.  He certainly made a lot of noise.

They got their washer and dryer, upstairs, on the bedroom floor.  This makes it a lot easier for doing laundry.  You don't need to bring your laundry to the basement.

But the BAD part of putting the washer and dryer upstairs, is that you can't service the machines if they are broken.  So the Big Guy made a hole in the closet going to the back of the machines.

This makes it so much easier to get to the back panels.
Although you can't see it, but you can also access the power and water now.

There was a lot of debris after he took everything out.

You also have to have the correct tool for the job.
The Big Guy borrowed the reciprocating saw from my non-furry brother, Terry.

He had to take out two bags of debris.
But it got all cleaned up.

Then the Big Guy put in some new MDF to frame in the hole.
It's a nice finish.

Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is generally denser than plywood.

Now that the hole is all framed in and looking great, he will have to make a small door to cover this up.  Then put the shelves back in the closet.  That shouldn't take too long to fabricate.

Today, my non-furry sister, Mylynne is going to go to this place where she gets to see her baby.  It's called something like "See Baby".  They will also get to see if the baby is a boy or a girl.

Obviously they are all excited about this.  I'm pretty sure I will not be allowed to go.  It's a dogs life that I have.

6/May/19 this is my impression of a Mexican after Cinco de Mayo

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Just in case you didn't know.

This is a picture of North Sydney Nova Scotia Canada, at night.

It's also a picture of me in the dark without the flash being turned on first.

The Big Guy was trying to take pictures of the fog yesterday and he had to turn the flash off first.  Well he also forgot to turn it back on again.

Yesterday my non-furry Memere suggested to the Big Guy that the belt may have come off the washer.  That would be why the washer drum is no longer turning.  Which would be true on an older type washer.

But now the motor on the washer, is more like a mono rail, or perhaps you could think of it like a MagLev.  But it's a very short track and the track is fused to the washer drum.  Then, like a MagLev train, it travels on the track.  But in this case, since the track is round, it moves the drum round too.

See this video on how to replace the stator and rotor assembly.

Now, the Big Guy THINKS this is what is wrong.  It could possibly be something else.  He just isn't sure.

He is NOT going to start messing around with his washer to start replacing this or that.  He is going to let the technician do that.  BUT, he also needs to remove the wall that's behind the washer so that they will have access.

This is something that should have been done about 12 years ago, when the first washer went in there.

It's going to be a dirty and messy job.

So, there is going to be a lot of preparation to this job.  There is going to be dust everywhere.  But in the end, the repair person will have such an easier job.  Plus, it will be something that will not have to be done again in future.  So, it's sort of win/win.  Sorta, but not really.

So my job in all of this.

Well, it will be pretty easy.  Just stay out of the way.

5/May/19 oh joy, it's Cinco de Mayo hip hip horray

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So I'm not Mexican.  But if I was, I guess I would be celebrating today as it's Cinco de Mayo.  This is a celebration of Mexico and the revolution against the French.

So you may be asking...  what is it that DOES have my attention today.

Well, it's the fog.

There was a Steven King movie called "The Mist".

Although this fog isn't quite as thick at it was in the movie.  But still, it's very impressive.

Plus, I don't believe there is any flying creatures that is going to come out and attack us.  We don't see very many new books from that author.  I wonder if he just ran out of ideas?

The Big Guy works on this new account at work.  He does troubleshooting for appliances and what not.  Yesterday it was a smart TV.  While the technician was on site, they couldn't replicate the issues that the customer was talking about.  But the case is logged.

So, having said that, the washer they own.  Well, it's still relatively new.  But it's been on the fritz.  Now the drum will only jitter.  The Big Guy tried to do a calibration, but it didn't fix the issue.  So that tells him, it's the motor, or it's the computer that controls the motor.

Either way, it's got to get fixed.  The Big Guy isn't big on extended warranties.  But, on the other hand, Tonya is.  Well, it's still under the "regular" warranty, so they will have to call "a guy" in to fix it.

We will see how that goes.  But at least they can rest assured that all the troubleshooting has been done.
