18/Feb/23 freezing rain is nasty

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday, the Big Guy made two trips outside.

He cooked a turkey and boiled the bones.

He took the time to walk SOME of the smaller stuff to that former tree stump that is in the back yard.

Then, the bigger bones, he walked those down the driveway to the green bin.

Both times, I was hoping to be let outside.

But, ever since I popped my collar, I haven't been trusted to be outside on my own.

I'm pretty sure I would have popped my collar again to run over to feast on the turkey bones.

Yesterday, I could hear some bigger trucks in our area.

The Big Guy was looking outside.

They were taking away the extra snow that is on the side of the road.

The Big Guy was hoping that they would take away the snow banks on his side of the yard.

BUT, nope.

Just the sidewalks.

He sat outside for a bit to watch them.

Later on though, the freezing rain started.

Then, ice pellets.

Then, the snow.

But it's the cold air along with the wind.

Talking of which...

The Big Guy was able to zip up his dog walking jacket.

This means I'm that much closer to going for a walk again.

17/Feb/23 I like spaghetti

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Yesterday the Big Guy took the time to make his meat balls.

Then, he added them to the spaghetti sauce he was making.

Here's the rub.

Onions in the meatballs.

Onions, 2 of them, in the sauce.

The Big Guy pointed that out to Tonya so that she didn't decide to give me a helping.

I would be able to have the pasta.

But not the meat balls or the sauce.

Ummm...  hello...

Plain pasta?

Today, the Big Guy is supposed to cook a turkey.

Now, we are expecting freezing rain today.

Will he have the bones all boiled up and ready for the compost before 1:00 PM?

Guess we are going to find out.

Will I have turkey gravy for my kibbles tonight?

If Tonya has anything to do about it, then the answer will be YES!!

I wonder what else he is going to make with supper?

Hopefully it's dog friendly.

16/Feb/23 keeping the chair warm

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

It a tough job making sure that the chairs stay warm in this house.

From what I hear, the previous dog was not allowed on the furniture.

They tried to keep me off the furniture.

It didn't take.

Yesterday the Big Guy was outside for a LONG time.

He was snow blowing the yard.

His hardest thing to do yesterday, was to wade though the snow bank that the wind had left.

Right now, it's raining outside.

The snow that fell, is being filled with water.

The snow rails on the roof can only hold back so much before it's falling off the roof.

It makes quite the THUMP when it's hitting the ground.

Our next door neighbor, he didn't think of snow rails or snow brakes.

He lost his front steps twice already.

We got another neighbor, he is at the other corner of the block.

He also has a metal roof.  No snow rails or snow brakes.

So far he hasn't lost his steps due to the snow falling off his roof.

So far...

15/Feb/23 see what I didn't get

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

In this picture, there is steak, scallops, baked potato with butter.  Then, not to be outdone, fried mushrooms and onions.

There is also a bottle of club soda, made from their soda stream machine.

I managed to get some of the steak and some of the baked potato from Tonya.

I tried to lay my head on the Big Guy's lap.

He didn't even let me lick his plate.

Today, he's supposed to be making some sort of steak sandwich for breakfast.

Tonya is also the day, boxed of chocolates goes on sale.

The next event where people will purchase chocolates will be Mother's day.

After Mother's day, it will be Christmas.

There is still a full can of quality street candy in the nook.

The only person that is eating from it, is Mylynne when she comes by with the grand children.

The Big Guy was looking at Environment Canada website.

They got 32 cm of snow yesterday.  Then, the day before, 2 cm, so, all told this storm dumped 34 cm of snow.

The kid across the street was using his Quad with a plow on it for 6 1/2 hours.

The Big Guy is pretty sure he will have his driveway all done in less than an hour.  Then he does some finer detail work, which extends it to about 90 minutes.

He had a look at the back steps, he seen the snow drift.

Of course he doesn't like snow on the best of days.
