20/Jan/88 no such thing as a bad belly rub

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Last night, Tonya made a goulash for the Big Guy's supper.

He only had the one bowl.

He REALLY wanted to go back for seconds.

But, he is determined to just have the one bowl, or one plate, of supper.

They also have smaller plates.

Oh, they do have regular supper plates.

But they got these "breakfast" plates.  They are smaller by a few inches.

This way, once the plate is full, it does give the impression that you have a very full plate.

Yes, it is only an optical illusion, but the Big Guy is trying to be a Smaller Big Guy.

He got this new watch.

It vibrates and gets him to walk around the house.

It also vibrates and tells him to drink some water.  Not pop or juice.

The Big Guy is hoping, by this Spring, he will be good enough to walk me around the block again.

Then, God willing, perhaps walk around several blocks, like he used to.

Those were good days.

19/Jan/22 just making sure you are working while at work

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

I wasn't able to protect the snow from melting.

It is mostly gone now.

There is only a few snow banks that are around the yard.  Everything else melted.

Tonya and the Big Guy left the house together.

But when they came back, they had a new bag of dog food for me.  I was happy about that.  I do need my kibble.

Yesterday, the Big Guy had some left over roast.  He decided to make a Beef Bourguignon.

There wasn't any onions in it.  So I was allowed to have a little bit of it over my kibble.

It sure was tasty.

The Big Guy said that it was the first beef stew that he ever made, that didn't have any onions in it.

The weather has been super weird.

Yesterday, about this time, it was +7 C.  Today, it's -9 C.  The temp has been shifting dramatically.

Before the week is out, the Big Guy and Tonya have to set up the computer for Tonya, so that she will be able to work from home.  But not in the same room as the Big Guy.

The found out, when Covid started, March of 2019, that they couldn't both be in the same room.

The found that each other, was loud.

18/Jan/22 don't worry snow, I will protect you

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Big Guy was outside yesterday with his snow blower.  

We cleaned up the yard.

He shoveled the steps.

He didn't put any salt down, like he said that he would.

Tonya did that.

But...

As I went outside to day.

All the snow and ice is GONE!

It rained so hard last night.

It is also +7 C.

The snow and ice didn't have a chance to survive.

Did the Big Guy have to do the rain dance?

I know he didn't, but it sure seemed like someone did.

17/Jan/22 more rain heading our way

 

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

We got a lot of rain the other day.

Followed by some snow that blew around.

There is a small drift by the garage door.

We are due to get more rain tonight.

Tonya told the Big Guy, he WILL go outside TODAY and he will clean up the snow that has piled up in the drifts.  He will also clean up the stairs and the walk way.  He WILL get this done before the rain that we are supposed to get tonight and tomorrow.

Of course the Big Guy said yes.

She said that he is to make sure that he puts salt down on the steps.

She wants the freezing rain that is on the steps "fixed" before the next rain, which will be tonight.

Right now, it's -12 C.  

The Big Guy isn't an idiot.

He knows the temp is going to be going up.  It's not due to start raining till 4 this afternoon.  

He told me that he is going to wait for the temp to go up, so something more reasonable before he goes outside and starts shoveling and snow blowing and salting.

I have to agree with him.  

Work smarter, not harder.
