14/Aug/20 I'm not upside down, you are

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

As you can see in this picture, there is what the Big Guy calls, Max Tumbleweeds.  I'm looking at one that is just past the table leg.

Tonya tries to keep up, but honestly, I can drop my fur faster than what she can keep up.

We went for a drive last night and went to Dairy Queen in Sydney.

The Big Guy got a blizzard and Tonya got a regular soft serve ice cream.

Tonya gave me a few licks off her ice cream.  But the Big Guy warned her, if I get diarrhea, it's on her.  I have had that in the past when they got me ice cream.  But I had an entire ice cream, not just a few licks.

Tonya firmly believes that I can have anything, just as long as it's only a little bit.

But the Big Guy believes, I can't have any of it, even if it's a little bit.

That is why I will beg when Tonya is eating something.  She always gives in, as it's only a little bit of human food.

The Big Guy, I get kibble and water and told to screw off.

He better not put his plate down around me.  I will show him who is going to screw off.

13/Aug/20 I can only pant so much in this heat

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Most of you would not choose to have your house set to 29 C.  That is 84 F.

But here it is...  you can also see, it's 8:30 in the evening and it's that warm in the house.

Soon enough, the Big Guy will be bitchin and moaning that it's too warm in the house.

I know, I know, it's human nature to complain.

The Big Guy is cooking up some sausages for breakfast and also for supper.  He is making some spaghetti and he will be making some spaghetti sauce.

Then he will put it all in the fridge when he is all done.  Then they only have to put it in the microwave when it's time for supper.

Cook when it's cooler in the house.  Don't try to cook in the heat of the day.  That's just dumb.

But can you imagine, there is places in the world, they don't have air conditioning.  They have to work in the heat.

But it surprising how humans will adapt.

Myself, as a Bernese Mountain Dog, I would literally die if it was that hot.

I guess I'm lucky to live where I do.

12/Aug/20 were you talking about snow in the forecast

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tonya was saying that giving ice to a dog, may not be too good for the dog.

The Big Guy just did a google search.  He wasn't able to find info that supports that.  So give your dog as much ice as they want on hot days.

Today, and the next few days, they are calling for heat warnings.

The Big Guy isn't bitching about the heat at all.  Tonya on the other hand, says she is melting and that she is sweating in parts that she didn't know she could sweat from.

Tonya was also talking about going to the lake.  By that, she means the Bras D'or Lakes.  It is partially salt water.  But after that, I need to be hosed off.  So, perhaps a run to the Four Paw Pet Spa.  The Big Guy has taken me there a lot.

The Big Guy was saying, he is supposed to get an earlier start for his shifts at work.  Potentially a 5 am start.  That would mean he would have to get up at 4 to make sure he was showered, got his coffee and then get ready for work.  He says that he wouldn't mind as it would then be off in the afternoon.

He doesn't want to jinx it and talk too much about it.

11/Aug/20 I am feeling a lot better now

Good morning world.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home, in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Earlier today, I was feeling the heat.

Now, I know that it was 29 C inside the house.  Yes, I know, there are other places where it is a lot warmer.  I realize that.

But Tonya had noticed that there was bubbles all over my nose.  I was over heating.

She went outside and grabbed my little swimming pool and started to fill it with water.  Normally I'm afraid of the hose.

Not this time.  I got into the pool as the pool was filling.

Did you know that Dogs will cool off their body via the pads of their paws?  It's true, you can look it up.  I know that the Big Guy didn't believe it.

After I had cooled off my paws, I had a few licks of water.  Oh my, wasn't that refreshing?

I laid out on the deck and didn't hesitate to go put my paws back in the water.  Yup, refreshing again.

Now, today, we got another heat warning.  I bet the pool water is going to get warm.  Oh well, what can you do...
