20/Sep/19 the world is upside down

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Yesterday the Big Guy did another first for himself.  He was able to replace a thermostat for the house.

Now, most of you would say, that's a pretty straight forward job.  And it should be as well.  But the manufacture of the thermostat created a hook up system that the Big Guy had never seen.  So he called their 800 number and was able to sort it out rather quickly.

Yesterday afternoon, Tonya and the Big Guy decided to go sit outside for a bit.

Well there was hundreds of wasps that were also outside.

Tonya figures they were trying to find a home for the Winter months.

So they decided to go sit on the front deck to see if there was less wasps.  Well, there was just as many.

While they were sitting on the front deck, some fella that was picking up their child from school, came up to them to let them know, they got rats living under their front deck.  Yes, it's not very appealing, but it is what it is.

They know that they got rats on their property.  It's embarrassing.  But the rats are hanging around OUTSIDE.

Ever since the SPCA did away with the feral cats, now we have rats in our yard.  Not just our yard either.  They are everywhere.

What can you do...

19/Sep/19 I'm so friggin tired

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Yesterday, I had a bit of a surprise.  We went for a drive.  Now that wasn't the surprising part.  They took me for a drive into the woods.

Sounds scary right?

Well, not too scary.  That's where the Goodhands Boarding Kennels are.

I got dropped off for the day so that I could run around and have fun with some other doggies.

But the BIGGEST SURPRISE.  I had to wear a hat.

We had dog safe ice cream.

The last picture, that's Maxwell.  It was his 4th Birthday.

So, not only did I get to run around and play with the other dogs.  But I got a pointy hat and some dog safe ice cream.  I didn't get the runs from this stuff, like I did a few weeks ago.

If you click on the picture, you will see the pictures in full screen.

But after I got home, I only wanted to lay down and rest.  I was pooped from all that exercise.

I think that we have to get a new thermostat for the house.  The furnace isn't coming on.  It's only +3 outside and the Big Guy wanted to turn on the furnace.  Well the furnace has other ideas.  Although they will save a ton of heating oil if they don't replace the thermostat.

18/Sep/19 thank you for opening the door

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I've tried to push on the door to open it.  It doesn't work.

Yup, I've got problems.  Pushing on doors isn't one of them.

The Big Guy was hoping to surprise Tonya with some cinnamon buns for breakfast.  Turns out, they don't have any milk in the house.  So that idea went out the window.

Tonya and the Big Guy drove around yesterday.  Do you think they could find a turkey?  Nope.  I guess it's a little too early for turkeys.

The Big Guy went to get their car safetied.  They failed the inspection.  They need new tires for their car.  But, because the tires are such an odd size, they found that they had to go to a different size tire.  This means new rims.  But when they are going to be all done, they will not have to worry about swapping their tires each half year.  These will be All Weather tires.  It's pretty much a Winter Tire that can be driven year round.

So new tires.  But they don't make them in the 20 inch size that they need for their Ford Flex.  So they need to get new rims.

These will be 18 inch rims.

With only 5 spokes, it should be a lot easier to clean than the 9 spoke wheels that they have on their car now.

I would say that these wheels are going to look pretty good on the car that I get driven around in.

And, they also need to get new lug nuts as the ones they currently have will be too big.  So they are getting locking nuts.  They had those on their mini van in the past.

17/Sep/19 I seen doggie hair man

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So it's another changing season and I'm dropping fur like it's no one's business.  Last week, Tonya and the Big Guy were vacuuming the house, 3 days in a row.  As they were going around the house and coming back to the "clean" parts, they had to continue vacuuming as there was more hair.

Today, the Big Guy has got to bring the car in for a safety inspection.  Then he has to go to Access Nova Scotia and get some stickers for the car's registration.  The Big Guy says that it's a cash grab.

But if you want to drive a car in Nova Scotia, your going to do this.  That's just how it is here.

Tonya was saying, she wants a turkey dinner.

The Big Guy doesn't mind.  But you do need a turkey to have a turkey dinner.  He checked the freezer and there is no turkey in the freezer.

Then, Tonya could make a hot turkey sandwich.  She really likes those.  For that matter, so does the Big Guy.  I think he enjoys the fries that goes with it even more.

So, the Big Guy made 2 donair loafs yesterday.  Last night, when they got home, they made themselves each a donair.  Tomatoes, onions, sweet sauce.  They whole bit.  Of course, I'm not allowed to have any of it.

So with the Winter month approaching, I've got to wonder, how many more mice is that electric trap going to catch.  So far, quite a few.  It's the best trap they have owned.  But it is also designed for rats.  The mice don't stand a chance.
