20/Apr/19 my tongue can touch my nose

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

What bizarre weather were having.  Yesterday morning, it was snowing and there was about 4 or 5 cm of snow on the car.  Then, when Tonya and the Big Guy were going to work, they had to deal with the rain.

Of course, because of the steel roof, the rain soaked snow just doesn't stay on the roof.  It slides off.  So they had to deal with that, trying to get to the car.

Then, the Big Guy had to brush off all the heavy snow off the car.  So he was getting wet.

Now, remember, there was only a few cm of snow on the ground.

But the Big Guy was reacting like there was THIS amount of snow on the ground in his driveway...

He can exaggerate a bit.

He still says that he needs to flip the snow blower to a lawn mower.  He could have done that on Thursday when the weather was so nice.

But with their weird Spring weather we are getting, he has to wonder, just when to do it.

The Big Guy is putting the final touches on these ship's crest that he is selling to someone.  Each crest, he is getting better at the paint job that he is doing.  He certainly isn't going to be any competition for the likes of Picasso any time soon though.

Here is the latest one he's working on.

HMCS Iroquois. I sell this painted crest for $25.00. Price does not include shipping. Wooden shield (not included) is for display purposes only.

Good job eh?

19/Apr/19 it's OK if you walk around me

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I'm sure that there is a lot of people that are Catholic.  For those of you that are and celebrate this time of year, Happy Easter.

There was this huge cathedral in Paris that burnt last week.  It was the Notre Dame Cathedral.  There is a lot of people that have donate monies towards the restoration of the building.

But there is also a lot of other people, Catholic people, that are saying NOT to donate.  But to give their funds towards those that are less fortunate.  That the Church has a lot of money and fixing the Cathedral will not cost them very much, in the grand scheme of things.

The Big Guy can see the importance of restoring the Cathedral for historic purposes.

There was other buildings that have been torn down in the name of progress.  For example, the Parrish Building that was pretty much in his back yard.  This was the same building, where the signal was received that the Titanic was sinking.  This was the same building, where the signal was first received in North America, that World War 2 was ending.  The people of North Sydney celebrated one day before the remainder of North America knew the war had ended.  That building, the Parrish Building, was torn down.

The Big Guy felt that it should have been turned into a museum, vice building a brand new building on the water front for that purpose.

But the building had to go.  Now, on the land, there are two houses.  One has been sold, the other, sits empty.  There are plans to build another 4 houses on the property.

As I'm looking outside, I can see that it's snowing.  This isn't the rain that they were talking about.

Oh well, it will rain soon enough.

18/Apr/19 go ahead, take the picture, but I'm not smiling

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So I see that today is supposed to be a nice day outside.  But not so nice as for my human to be able to sit outside without a jacket on.  He can be a bit whimpy with the cold.  He really prefers to be hot.

BUT we went over that.  When it's hot out, that means there are mosquitoes and other insects.

Why do I even both with him?

Well, I guess cause he feeds me.

Oh, to be sure, Tonya feeds and waters me a lot more than the Big Guy.  But when he notices my food bowl is empty, he will take pity on me and will fill it again.

So the Big Guy has this hobby where he paints and sells these ship's crests.  His brother in law was speaking to him about some fire hall and asked if he could make their crest.  It's not beyond his skills.  But nothing that he has ever done up to this part.  I'm pretty sure he will have to get some modeling clay first and see what he can create, the adjust and adjust some more.  There will be a lot of effort put into this.  He isn't so sure it will sell.  But if he doesn't do it, it will NEVER sell.

You never know, it may end up making him quite a bit of money.  I guess he will see.

If you ask me, as long as I get my food and water...  do what ever hobby you want.

Perhaps he will be able to afford a few more steaks and even a few for me as well.

17/Apr/19 finally got my B-Day steak

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I was so excited to get my Birthday Steak, I gobbled it up.  Quickly before the humans changed their minds.

Then, as a special bonus, they had prime rib steaks.  Tonya and the Big Guy gave me one of the bones to go chew on the deck.  After I was done stripping off the meat, they got my attention and then put the bones in the green bin.

Not like I don't have a few other bones laying around.  So I really didn't miss those smaller bones.

Afterwards, I went and laid down on the couch to digest the steak.  It was so yummy.

If you live around here, and you were to look outside, you would see the snow on the ground.  That isn't always pleasing to the Big Guy.  But he also knows, it isn't going to last.

This Saturday, it's supposed to go up to +15.

The Big Guy always says that he really wants Summer to arrive.

But then he will complain about the wasps, mosquitoes and spiders.

When they are outside, they always bring their fly swatters with them.  The Big Guy really is weird about what he likes and doesn't like.

He hates Winter and snow, but loves the fact that the mosquitoes goes back to hell, where they belong.  He loves Summer and the rain, but hates the mosquitoes.

Look buddy, you better learn to be a little more happier in life.
