17/Feb/19 is it obvious that we were at the dog park

We went to the Dog Park yesterday

I got to play with a couple of new dogs that I've never met before.

I also went for a poop.

Tonya made sure to clean it all up.

There was another dog owner that was there, and we weren't too sure if he just didn't see it or if he knew and just turned his back at the right time.  But his doggie took a poop and he didn't scoop it up and put it in the trash.

We stayed for a bit.  Not too long though.  The temperature wasn't all that cold, but with the moisture in the air, it felt a lot colder than what it was.  Both Tonya and the Big Guy's feet were cold.

But the reason that we were over there was to get my new dog tags.  We do that every year.

Now, I know some dog owners, they don't get their doggie their tags.  Which is bad, as they can loose their dog and then they end up in the pound.  You don't want to end up the pound too many times.  If you do...  you may also end up being move to to a farm. 

Which is adult for "put you down".

But the dog park wasn't muddy.  There was a lot of water though.  But the ground is still frozen.  Just wait for the Spring.  THEN it's going to be muddy.

That will also be when they take me to the spa afterwards.

I take it in stride, but it's not my favorite place to be.

Tonya got me some new treats.  The other ones, the marrow bones were making me have stinky breath.  The milk bones, my breath is fresh.

16/Feb/19 this is not the gourmet kibbles I was expecting

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So it's Saturday.

Normally Saturday means that the Big Guy will make some sort of biggie breakfast.  Today, he's made the bacon and will be cooking some sausages.  Then making some toast and likely some fried eggs.

Now...  I have a plan...

But I also think that the Big Guy already knows what my plan is.  So it all hinges on Tonya.  If I try this on the Big Guy, he will give me the "stink eye" and nothing will come of it.

When Tonya comes down stairs, I will greet her with all the enthusiasm that I normally do.

I will vocalize.  I will bark.  I will jump.  I will try to give her kisses.  I will bump into her as she is trying to get to her morning coffee.

I know this will make her yell at me.  But hey, she's paying attention to me.  So it's not all bad.

Then, when she has her coffee, she will confirm that the Big Guy has indeed, made the biggie breakfast.

She will bring her breakfast to the living room to watch the morning news with the Big Guy.

As she is trying to eat, I will put one paw up and then the other.  Then I will stare right into her eyes and her plate as she is trying to eat.

She will yell at me again, but then I will also turn on the drool.  She will get disgusted and she will give me her breakfast.  Not all of it mind you.  But some of it.

This plan has been working for the last 2 1/2 years now.

15/Feb/19 I dream of Jeannie and the other ladies

Good morning Cape Breton.

Yesterday the Big Guy went to work and made Tonya a little jewelry box.  He has this word of the day calendar.  Everyday, he removes the paper for the previous day, looks at today's word and put the old piece of paper in a pile, that he keeps next to his computer.  So he has a stack of ready to use scrap paper.

So he took several pages and with Scotch Tape, he creates a box.  Inside the box, he put this little plastic jewel.  Well, it's actually quite big.  They got them all over the place at their work in the cafeteria.  

Then on the lid of the box, he put Happy Valentines Day Tonya XOXOX.  

This made her VERY happy.

So was there other stuff that people done out there to make their significant other feel special?

I know one of the ladies at work, she got a dozen roses from her boyfriend.  All the ladies at work were going...  aaaawww...

The Big Guy isn't always smart about stuff and he had to think about who would send the roses to his co-worker.  If it doesn't effect him directly, he doesn't put a lot of thinking into stuff.  He thought and thought some more.  Then he remembered the guy that is going out with his co-worker.

So it's Friday.  

Which is garbage day.

But those people that pick up the garbage.  They changed their schedule.  They normally go around REALLY early.  

So I can see the garbage bags outside.  But I will NOT get to sniff them, before the garbage people come around and take them away.

14/Feb/19 happy Valentines day to all the sweet doggies out there

Good morning Cape Breton.

So yesterday school was closed for the children.  But work wasn't closed for the adults.  No, they still had to go to work.  That is unless you work for the school.

Yes, it did snow in our area.  Not as much as what the let on about though.  Now, I'm sure there are other parts of the Martime provinces, they got MORE than their fair share of the snow.

While the Big Guy was out on his snow blower, Tonya was taking the time to shovel off the front and back deck and steps.  That was such a big job.  The Big Guy certainly appreciated all the work that she did.  Otherwise, it would have meant more time outside for him, continuing the dig the snow.

Oh and the Big Guy wants to give  BIG SHOUT OUT to the next door neighbor, Lorne Slade..  He came by with his tractor and removed the snow from the front of the house so that the walk way is all cleaned up.

I mean, look at this job he did.

WOW!

Do you see that path that is outside of the hedge?  Lorne did that with his tractor.  See how clean the front deck is.  The Big Guy didn't do that.  That was all Tonya.  Oh, you can see the areas that are snow blown, yes, the Big Guy did that.  But he also did that with his snow blower.  Not a lot of effort there.

Perhaps if Tonya had the LCD Shovel, things would have been better...

Tonya says that she has a really sore wrist.  Now, she knows this is from her work, using a computer keyboard all day long.  The Big Guy has this arm band that he wears when his wrists hurts from using the keyboard too much.  But he doesn't think that it's going to fit Tonya as her arms are a lot smaller.  But they are going to find out.

The Big Guy is hoping, this will be the last snow storm for 2019.

I don't think he remembers, he lives in Canada and it's still Winter.

Don't be surprised if there is a couple more snow storms to come.

Although it's hard pressed to think that when there is a bunch of rain in the forecast for this Saturday.
