Good morning Cape Breton.Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.
Yesterday Tonya and the Big Guy went to the pet store and got me a bag of treats. Not that I get a lot of them (according to me). But Tonya is worried that these treats will dirty my white teeth.
She has tried to get me some other treats that cleans my teeth, but she says that when she buys them, they are all busted up. So there is like a box of about 15 or 20 that are full sized and then about another 15 or 20 that are broken up to various sizes and then a box full of biscuit dust.
She says that she isn't paying for a box of biscuit dust. No way.
The Big Guy's gout is acting up. So he took one of his special gout pills. Well they make him EXTREMELY tired. Good thing he doesn't have to work till later this morning. He will sleep them off. He told me, he didn't sleep very well lat night. I guess he's going to make up for it this morning.
Tonya and the Big Guy also went to this flea market. The Big Guy got himself a couple XBox games. One of them is a farming simulator. Looks kinda boring. I guess we will see how that works out.
Then Tonya got got a new welcome sign for the property.
But because the last time she put stuff out, it was damaged, she put this one a little farther back on the property.
What you you think? Looks pretty nice eh? Click the picture to see them full sized.

So it was really nice to get all that rain that we got yesterday, but I must say, it would have been MUCH better to get it spread out a wee bit. Like several days of rain, vice getting a shit ton of rain all at once. Yes, the grass and stuff got watered, but I think it was too much water for them to enjoy and use.
Although the weeds sure are liking it.
But the Big Guy doesn't want his lawn
Now we got some rather big winds. It has cooled off the house. Prior to this, Tonya had every fan going in the house. That worked for a bit, but it was still very warm inside the house.
If it's like this next year, I wonder if they are going to get an air conditioner? I guess we will see what the weather brings next year.
Mylynne and Colby came by for supper last night. Colby likes the run around my house. Well, when he runs, I run after him. But because it's so much more stable being on all 4 paws and low to the ground, I always knock him over. That makes him upset.
Tonya always has to tell Colby, walk slowly around the house when I am around. Otherwise, I knock him over.
I find she has to remind him a lot and often.
They only have smaller dogs at home, so I bet they don't knock him over.

So we are supposed to get some rain today. Very likely about 90 mm of rain. That's just shy of 4 inches of rain. OK, so if you ask me, that's a lot of rain. I've very glad that I don't live outside, like a deer or a moose. They are going to have to find a place to hide from all this rain.
Before we get all the rain that is forecasted, the Big Guy wants to return the recycled cans to the recycle center. He has a lot of beer cans that needs to be dropped off. Then he hoards the money for himself. It isn't a lot of money, but he still keeps it for himself.
They were going to have a BBQ today, but with all the rain that's going to be falling, he has thought differently about what they are going to be having. Now, he's pretty smart about stuff. He even has some cast iron stuff that would make those special grill marks on his food.
The other day, the Big Guy was commenting on how there was NO one parked in the fire lane at our local Sobey's store.
That is really unusual for our area.
I know in the past, Sobey's has actually put their garden center in the fire lane to prevent those people that park in the fire lane. But then they just park outside the garden center, blocking the flow of traffic. The Big Guy calls them "princesses".
He will make comments about their parking if they got their window open. I know that Tonya doesn't like it when he does that.
The Big Guy would love to carry around a piece of side walk chalk to mark the ground, with arrows and such, labeling their parking space for princesses only parking.
Would they be embarrassed and stop parking in the fire lane? I bet not.

Looks like this Summer's Heat Wave is going to be behind us starting yesterday. From this point moving forward, it would seem that the temperatures are going to be in the low 20's. We got a rather large rain event starting tomorrow afternoon and going all day through to tomorrow night.
It couldn't come fast enough as the grass isn't looking too good. It needs a really good dousing.
The Big Guy doesn't mind the rain at all. He always says, he doesn't have to shovel the rain. Which is true. But since he also lives on the top of a small hill, he doesn't have to worry about flooding either.
So it would seem with all this rain that's in the forecast, their work BBQ is going to be pushed back at least one week.
Tonya has been keeping the blinds shut this summer in order to reduce the heat in the house. Well I think the blinds will finally be able to be raised once again.
The Big Guy has put all the garbage out to the curb. I sure hope that we can go for a walk this morning. Tonya was able to take me around the block yesterday. She wore the Big Guy's gloves so that she would be able to put the chain leash on me. If it's the nylon leash, I just LOVE chewing on the leash. But if it's the chair leash, I do NOT chew on it. But it also means that they have to protect their hands from the chain, so they have to wear gloves when they are walking me. As the chain slips though their hands, it tears at their delicate skin in their hands. The Big Guy made sure to get a long leash so that I could sniff stuff.
I know, I know, some of you people out there are saying that I should walk next to my humans and not be so curious. Well that isn't how I was trained. So blame them for allowing me some freedom when out for a walk.
