21/Jun/18 is it Summer yet

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So I don't know about the remainder of Canada...  but here in Cape Breton, I think Summer forgot about us.  The weather is somewhat nasty and cold out.  The Big Guy is still wearing a jacket.  Then, when they want to sit out on the back deck, it's not unlike him to grab his WINTER jacket to be able to enjoy sitting out.

Remember when I said that the Big Guy was making his "Mum's Macaroni"?  Well he said that this is one of the better batches he has ever made.  So he's quite happy with the results.  BUT, because it has onions in it, I can't have any to confirm that this is true.

I got to go to the Doggie Park yesterday.  I was all by myself for about 5 minutes.  Then other doggies arrived.  One of them was smaller and he was sorta "bittie".  Then again, he was also the smallest dog, so he wanted to show all the other dogs, just who was boss.

The Margaree Chase The Ace didn't go.  It is forecasted to be up to $720,000.00.  They are taking a week off to be with their kids for graduation.  They draw for the last 3 cards will be on the 4th of July.

When we got home, the Big Guy took about 3 hours to clean out his car.  He was vacuuming, washing, waxing, the whole sheebang.  He would look at the car, see that there was spots that wasn't clean, so he would do that part over again.  He really put some effort into it.  Then, he also has some touch up paint.  So he did that too.  He really put some effort into cleaning the car.

Tonya will often tell the Big Guy to open the back windows for me.  Well that really annoys the Big Guy.  Yesterday, it took over 10 minutes for him to take the drool marks off the car.  Then she wonders why he will ignore her request to lower the back windows.

20/Jun/18 curled up and sleeping

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

The Big Guy is going to be making this thing he calls "Mum's Macaroni" today.  I can't have any of it as it has onions in it.

He says that he has NEVER been able to make it like his mother does.  He has tried and tried.  Over and over again.  But it is just never the same.  BUT, he's going to try again today.

For those of you that don't know what "Mum's Macaroni" is, you may know it as goulash.  It is loose hamburger, onion, stewed tomatoes, with macaroni.  Then baked in the oven.  Pretty simple, right?  But he still can't make it like his mother does.

The Big Guy went to Home Hardware yesterday to get the rat traps that he ordered.  He was 100% positive that he only ordered the 1.  But there was 2 there for him.  So he didn't question it, he took both.  He really believes in these traps too.  He has also ordered one from Amazon as he didn't think he was going to be getting the ones from Home Hardware.  So, eventually, he will have 3 traps.

Those rats will not have much of a chance.  He will be putting one by the green bin to see what he catches there.  These traps have a tube attached to them, so he firmly believes that he will NOT be catching birds.  Mice perhaps, but not birds this time.

That made him sad when he was catching birds in the rat traps.  He has the same style traps in the house, but for mice.  They are 100% guarantee kill, HUMANELY too.  They are made my Nooski.  Here is their website:  http://www.nooski.com/

Pretty cool eh?

So I will be off to the Doggie Day Care this Friday.  I've never been there before, so I don't know what it's going to be like.  But I hear that I've got to bring some of my food and something that belongs to Tonya, so that I can smell her and feel safe.

I hope that the other doggies will be nice to me that day.  But I hear that there is other dogs that LOVE it there.  I guess I will find out.

19/Jun/18 does the color of the ball bring out the color in my eyes

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So there is this really great toy that the Big Guy bought for me.  It is a ball with two handles built into it.  Then there is a tennis ball inside the ball.  If I bite hard enough on the outside ball, it will squeak.

But the best thing about this ball, is that it's big enough NOT to fit under the couch.  I don't know how many toys go under the couch.

I get all upset when that happens.  I will lay on the floor, looking under the couch, love seat or the chair and I will bark and bark.  Normally Tonya will "have enough" and will get the toy for me.

So I'm pretty sure that it's this Friday that I'm going to go to the Doggie Day Care.

Tonya said that if the Chase The Ace doesn't go this Wednesday, then she will be sending the Big Guy on a road trip to Margaree to get more tickets on Friday.  He doesn't mind.  He turns up the stereo really loud, he puts the cruise control on and off he goes.

The Big Guy says that he uses the cruise control a lot so that he doesn't speed.  Otherwise, he would be speeding.  He says that he can't wait for the self drive car to come out.  Then it will all the "heavy lifting" while he just looks around and enjoys the scenery.

They put in an electric charging station at Sobey's.  So he thinks that this may be something that Sobey's is doing at all their locations.  This would mean that he could purchase and electric car and would be able to make it all the way to Moncton where my non-furry Memere lives.  He would be able to charge his car without too much expense.  It does normally take a few hours to charge a fully depleted battery.  Depending on the charger.  There are some chargers that will charge using 100 amps at 240 volts.  This will charge your car in about 30 minutes or less.

BUT so far he has the Flex and he's going to keep that for now.

18/Jun/18 sunny days

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So, I don't feel the cold like my humans do.  Yesterday, they both sat out on the sunny side of the house.  The Big Guy felt like it was +22.  Yet, had they decided to sit up on the deck, it was only +12.  So obviously they decided that sitting in the full sun was better.

Tonya did some yard work while the Big Guy was moving stuff and getting stuff for her.  After a bit, she told him to make some margaritas and go sit down.  So he was more than happy to do that.

It is supposed to rain today, which makes the Big Guy happy as it is free water for the grass.

The Big Guy remembers the 1st summer they had moved here.  He swears he was having to mow the lawn every 3 days.  They had a lot of thunder and lightening storms.  Nothing like that since that particular summer.

I've heard that a lot of doggies will suffer during an electrical storm.  Their fur will build up static electricity.  To counter that, rub your doggie with a dryer sheet.  Like "bounce".  This will dissipate any electrical charge on the doggie's fur.

The Big Guy has put some chicken out for their lunches today.  He still has to cook them.  I'm definitely not allowed to have chicken bones.  Those bones tend to go in the green bin.  Then the green bin gets emptied about once a month into a BIG truck.  I'm not sure where the chicken bones goes from there.  But there must be some pile of chicken bones out there somewhere.
