14/Feb/17 where is all the snow coming from

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

My forever home is not like those new R2000 homes.  You can feel the wind when it blows outside.  You can hear the wind howling from the fireplaces.

When you try to look out the living room windows, you can't see anything cause the snow is in those windows.  I will have to wait for that snow to melt so that I can see outside again.

Tonya tried to put me out the back door so that I could go pee.  Well there is a snow drift.  I stepped out and immediately sunk into the snow drift.  I don't have snow shoes for paws.  I went right up to my chest and would have kept on going deeper and deeper.  I didn't like that very much.  Tonya helped me get back in the house and she put me out on the back deck.

The wind has kept the back deck clean.  No snow has accumulated on it.

Same with the front deck.  No snow on it either.

Can't say the same for the Big Guy's garage though.  There is a deep snow drift and he will have to dig out the garage door so that he can get to his snow blower.

I bet he is glad that he wasn't outside snowblowing the yard.  What a waste of time it would have been.  Just as fast as he would have been blowing the snow, the blowing snow would fill it back in.

They didn't loose power last night.  Which they are REALLY happy about.  The Big Guy wears a CFPAF mask at night.  Helps him breath when he is sleeping.  Since he is on this Keto way of eating, he is going to loose weight.  I wonder if he will get to a point where he doesn't need that mask any longer?

I get to be with Tonya and the Big Guy all day today.  They will both be working from home.  But I will need to be quiet.  I can't bark and make a fuss while they are working.  Otherwise, I know that I will be spending some time in the kennel.

Bye bye for now.

13/Feb/17 trying to sleep over here

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

I could hear the Big Guy get up this morning.  He woke up early.

I can hear him walking to the bathroom.

He got a glass of water and took his morning pills.

He creeps downstairs.

He looks into the living room but doesn't see me.  He turns on the light at the bottom of the stairs and turns up the heat, light is off and walks to the kitchen.

I can hear him making his coffee.  What is he doing now?  Oh, he is in the fridge.  Sounds like he is going to make some boiled eggs for breakfast.

Damn, that means I don't get any.

Where is he going now?  Oh, he is in the library and he has turned on his computer.

He is walking around.  He is in the kitchen again.  What's he looking for?

I can see him.  He is in the dining room looking on the floor.  He looks outside for a few minutes and then back to the kitchen.

He is coming to the living room.  FLASH!  Camera goes off.  He found me.

I better go after him and get my morning pats and scratches.

I go outside.  It's cold out.  It's windy too.  I curl up at the top of the stairs.  My fur coat is thick and I really don't feel the cold at all.  My breed is from places that is much colder than this.

So now I know why the wind is up. We are going to get a blizzard.  With close to 30 cm of snow fall that is forecasted for us.

If we loose power, I may have to skip tomorrow's blog.

Bye bye for now.

12/Feb/17 what icicle above my head are you talking about

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

The railing that I am standing next to, it is about 4 feet tall.  I don't know to measure too much, but that's about the right height.  But if you look at me.  I think that if I had a running start, I could jump over the railing.

People find it intimidating when I am doing this.  They are walking up the driveway to come for a visit and I am barking at them with my paws hanging over the railing.  When I was a little puppy, I would stick my head between the rails.  Well now my head is WAY to big to do that.

We are due to get 20 cm of snow tomorrow.  That's about 8 inches for those folks that don't do the metric system.

The Big Guy has to go fix his snow blower.  It would seem last week, he picked up a piece of a coffee cup and it got it self jammed into the machine and broke the sear pin on one of the 6 augers.  He can fix it, but has to get the old piece out first, then put in the new piece.  But he needs a nail to get the old piece out.  It is being stubborn and will not just drop out of place.

The Big Guy is all done his medical testing and he can have beef once again.  He is marinading some steaks for his breakfast and is going to have steak and eggs for breakfast.  Normally when he cooks a big breakfast like that, Tonya will give me some.  I only need to pester her and she will put some of her breakfast in my bowl.

Tonya and the Big Guy are on this Keto WOE Facebook group.  The Big Guy is getting a lot of posts on something that he wrote Friday night.  He is really happy about what is going on there.

The Big Guy is editing this video, so you may want to come back to this post and see the final product.  Sorry about the wait for those of you that look at my blog early.
Bye bye for now.

11/Feb/17 got a new bone to chew on

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

Yesterday the Big Guy went to the butcher and he got me a bag of dog bones.  Now people may be thinking, oh isn't that nice, he got me some Milk Bones.  No...  he got me some BONES!  I was busy chewing on this for about an hour and a half.  I didn't want to nip at Tonya at all.  I wanted the marrow from the bone.

Your getting kinda close there buddy.  I hope your not eyeballing my new bone I got.

I'm just going to go over here and chew my bone over here, AWAY from you nosey pants.

The Big Guy was telling me that he picked up a piece of a broken coffee cup and it broke the sear pin in his snow blower.  Not sure where he picked up the broken coffee cup.  Some one must have put it out on garbage day and it got into his snow blower.  Good thing it got jammed, because had it gone though the snow blower, it would have been a flying missile.

Tonya doesn't go to work till later this morning and then will be home later for supper.  The Big Guy has been asking me what we should have for supper.  I recommended some kibble.  He made a face and walked away.  I am not sure what his problem is.  I love my kibble.

The Big Guy is on some new way of eating.  I think he is scared there may be too many carbs in my kibble.  But if he needs a snack, I will share.  Just not my bones.  Those are MINE.

So yesterday I was 10 months old.  Tonya fed me some steak that the Big Guy was saving.  She said that sine it was my birthday, I got to have steak.  The Big Guy is doing this medical test where he can't eat beef, broccoli and cauliflower.  He is all done his testing as of tomorrow.  So I wonder what he is going to have first?  The Beef, broccoli or the cauliflower?  He does make a good Beef and Broccoli, but perhaps he wants to have a cheesy cauliflower...  Guess we will have to wait and see.

Bye bye for now.
