12/Dec/16 taking my picture thru the screen door

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So what was the Big Guy thinking...  this could have been a post card shot and he took it through the screen door.  Oh well, you get the idea of what was going on.  Cold morning, sun is coming up, snow fell and hasn't been disturbed yet.

Of course we got more snow last night.  But now it's raining a bit.  The Big Guy got his camera ready to see if he can't get the THUMP THUMP THUMP of the snow coming off the roof.  He can't go outside for the video as the snow is heavy.  You wouldn't think that it is, but we are talking about tons of snow coming off the roof.

So before 9 this morning, the Big Guy wants to get outside and clean off the deck and perhaps snow blow the driveway.  He doesn't want the snow to crust over after the rain has fallen and then freeze so that he can't open his garage door or stuff like that.  He has played this game before with my non-furry brother, Floyd.

Back in the day when Floyd lived with him and Tonya, the Big Guy asked Floyd to go shovel the front steps to the road.  (That was the agreement, that he would take care of that)  Floyd was on the couch, channel surfing, and looked over his shoulder and said, "Meh, it's snowing out, I'm not shoveling while it's snowing out".

Later on, the Big Guy approached him again and said, something like, are you going to got out NOW and shovel.  Floyd said, "Meh, I don't think so, it's raining out and I'm not shoveling in the rain".

So the next morning, the temperature had plummeted and the Big Guy asked yet again, if he was going to go shovel.  The reply...  "Meh, I don't think so, the snow is frozen solid and I can't shovel that".

You can't imagine how upset the Big Guy was at the time.

So he has a window of where he can go outside and take care of business before it gets NASTY outside.

Bye bye for now.

17/Dec/16 Christmas snow for me

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

The Big Guy had his fur hat on and I NEEDED to see what it was.

Can you see how tall I am now?  My nose can reach the counter top.  I know that Tonya isn't all that tall, but when she is doing stuff at the counter and I want to see...  I simply jump up on her back to have a look.  She doesn't like that very much.

You should have seen the Big Guy yesterday.  He wasn't a happy camper.  He brushed off the car and went to get his snow blower out of the garage, but he couldn't open the lock.  He has lock de-icer with him when he goes outside, but it still took about 15 minutes for him to get into the garage.  Finally the lock opened and he could use his snow blower.

His face and chin were full of ice and snow.  He came in to look at Facebook before he went to work and there was ice falling into his keyboard.  He wasn't too happy about that.

Looks like the Big Guy is going to be bringing out the snow blower again.  He wants to clean up his yard before the rain for tomorrow.

Talk about weird weather.  Right now, it's -22 with the wind chill, but tomorrow, it's going to be +12.

Here is another video of the Big Guy talking about snow.

Hope Spring can come along soon.

Bye bye for now.

16/Dec/16 minus 25 C with the wind chill... brrr...

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

So it's a bit cold outside.

Here in Cape Breton, we rarely get to -25 C.  So that's -13 F for those that use that scale.  Either way, it's damn cold outside.  I am so glad that I got my fur coat on.

Yesterday when the Big Guy was at work, one of his co-workers bought a loaf of Stuffing Bread.  He said that it's the best bread ever.  So look to the Big Guy's Food Blog to see what he's talking about.

The Big Guy isn't sure if he should be going outside to go snow blowing before work.  So far, the city hasn't plowed the street.  So no sense going out just yet.

But it sure it windy.  Oh my yes.  That's why there is so much wind chill right now.  Pretty sure the folks in New England states are shut down for the day.

Here is a video that my non-furry Memere posted from Moncton New Brunswick.  They get a lot more snow there than what we do.

Wasn't that nice of her to mention all her friends?

Bye bye for now

15/Dec/16 the snow is falling

Good morning Cape Breton.

Maximus Handsomius here from my forever home.

As I was out on the deck, I looked up and seen that there is a full moon.  It looks so nice on the fresh fallen snow.

We're supposed to get some big winds today.  There is another small storm coming to visit us.  The winds are supposed to be gusting up to 90 kph.  They are warning that the roofing shingles could get damaged.

When the Big Guy reads these warnings, he can only smile as he has a metal roof.  So it isn't about to be blown away.  He watched them install the roof and it is put on with, literally, thousands of screws.

Last night as I was sitting with the Big Guy, we were watching the last episode of Survivor and then...  without warning...  the snow came off the roof.  THUMP!  THUMP! THUMP! ... and the house was shaking.  You could see the snow dropping off the roof right in front of the windows.

I jumped up and looked towards the windows.

I didn't know what to do.  My fur came up and I was NOT wagging my tail.  I knew something was wrong.  I was giving little "woofs" as a warning to the Big Guy that something wasn't right.  He was laughing at me.  Well that got me upset and I started BARKING at him.  I went and looked outside and all I could see if Olaf, all bent over from the snow that was falling on him.  Well I didn't like that very much.  So I barked at him.  A LOT!

But the Big Guy has these lazers pointing at the house.  Here is a video of the snow falling past them.  Pretty cool eh?

So I got to enjoy a ham bone from the weekend.  But it was chewed up so much, the Big Guy threw what was left of it in the trash.

I guess I will have to find something else to chew...

...  where is Tonya ...

Bye bye for now.
